They had a very long free trial so it was a no brainer to use; but when the trial expired I had to decide if I wanted to make my own, inferior, invoices for free or pay a little to continue using their product. The comments at the bottom of invoices reading like fine print, enough that a client missed that an invoice was only for half, is a fair and useful catch. For anything a client mustn't miss, the Job description prints near the top of the invoice, and line descriptions work well too. Don't be on the fence anymore! #### Cons Not cons, but the following features would make InvoiceQuick even more awesome for me: - Custom SMTP: it'd be helpful to be able to set up my own AWS SES as the SMTP server so I can use my domain to send - allowing for a complete white label experience. - Define Financial Year: In India, the FY is 01 April to 31 March. A tip for finding items and prices without digging through old invoices: save them under Invoicing → Products or Services → Add new (or import a price list). In the invoice editor, type in the Product/Service field to search saved items with their prices; picking one fills in the price, quantity, unit, taxes and description. Looked around for a day or so and this was the software that looked the nicest and didn't display their brand all over the invoices. Customer service was quick to respond when my account got locked for inactivity. #### Cons My account was locked due to inactivity. It had been quite a long time since I used the software and they got it back up in a short amount of time, but it was still a mild annoyance when I discovered it. #### Vendor response "It just works and it looks nice" is pretty much what we aim for, John, so thank you. It's good to know the clean invoices, without our branding all over them, helped you decide. About the lock: accounts that nobody has logged into for a long stretch are suspended automatically. Pretty, clear invoices are exactly what we want you to be sending. Mislabeled checks are a real headache, so here's a tip. Invoices and PDFs read the company name, address and logo from your current settings each time they're opened or downloaded. Update them in Settings → Company and click Save, and the change shows on every invoice, including ones already sent. Only PDFs already attached to sent emails keep the old details. A logo saves as soon as you upload it in Settings → Invoice → Logo. With several companies on one login, check the right one is selected. I still have a little trouble navigating certain things but that is just me. #### Vendor response Russ, it's good to hear the updates and the dashboard made navigation easier, and that keeping track of invoices, payments, income and expenses is simpler than your old setup. Please don't be hard on yourself about the parts that still take some finding. If something isn't obvious, that's useful feedback for us too, not just you. Invoice quick have made it easier for me to invoice a client.
