Súper app for business owners

PROS

I think it;s the start of an ultimate tool for the horse Business. It has a great base platform to ease your daily record keeping

CONS

It still has a lot of work in order to become what it can be, but for now it does the job. The app version needs improvement

BarnManager Saves Lives

The product is excellent and the support is top notch. User friendly, easy to implement and maintain.

PROS

This is an easy and intuitive software product. It was easily implemented, volunteers quickly trained, and the on-going use is simple. It provides all necessary information at the hands of every volunteer who needs it from care techs to evaluators to the adoption coordinator to our founder.

CONS

The only draw back, but I understand is in the works, is to easily download and generate reports. Data is often needed for grant writing and the details are easily accessible but a report has to be had designed. Downloading the data would be much easier and less time consuming.

Reason for choosing BarnManager

Easy to use and available on a smart device which keeps information at your fingertips at all times. Good detail tracking without being overcomplicated. They have a great support team and it is free for a non-profit equine rescue, which I did not know to begin with that was a big added bonus.

Reasons for switching to BarnManager

The old system was outdated. It was not robust and did not provide for varying levels of access. It was not readily accessible on smart devices

I used Barn Manager when I worked for a show jumping stable (approximatley 25 horses).

PROS

The biggest benefit to this software is the cloud-based storage of information. I think one of the major limitations of stable management to date is the lack of organization and communication between different members of the staff and stable partners (veterinarians, therapists, etc). A cloud-based management system fills this significant management gap by keeping the entire stable team connected with real-time information regarding each horse. I think the possibility of `data-mining this information in the future has exciting implications for optimizing revenue, removing cumbersome practices within the stable, and better understanding healthcare practices.

CONS

The major limitation is the unintuitive nature of some features. In the equestrian community, individuals who have very limited time perform much of the day-to-day management. Thus, anything they perform must be very user-friendly and efficient. I know some stables have tablets for staff, but ideally, most staff would prefer to work off smartphones, so an easy to use smartphone app is needed. Further, a better way to sort through horses is needed. For example, one groom may only need data on a few horses, instead of having to scroll through data on many horses. Also, I find the program can be cumbersome. It is unclear what information is vital to have versus nice to have. A way for individual stables to highlight key information may make the staff's job either. Another nice feature to have would be to work with some big feed company to include information about their diets, such that for the feed tab staff can simply select feeds from a drop-down menu.

BarnManager is our one-stop organization center for our horse boarding business.

We love BarnManager and have found it to be the best fit for our needs at our retirement boarding facility!

PROS

We use BarnManager to keep farrier records, vet visit and vaccination record, as well as client information and contracts. This enables our staff to quickly search for last farrier dates, past records, and more. We also use the conversations feature to communicate messages and photos with clients, and have found this a nice way for staff and clients to keep in touch without having to search for cell phone numbers. Customer service is amazing; any time we have a question they are quick to answer in the chat feature and we are so thankful for amazing attentive service.

CONS

We have not been able to use the calendar and feed feature as much as we envisioned as these are rapidly changing day by day on our busy ranch, and we are not sure if it integrates with our preexisting calendar apps we use on our phones. We probably could use a refresher course on new features to be honest! We also have not been using the integration with Quickbooks as we have an accountant who helps us with that already, but see the integration as a valuable feature and we would totally use it if we did not already have an accountant.

Reason for choosing BarnManager

The ease of use, it had exactly what I needed and less of what I didn't, less clutter. Some of the other apps had so many features we got lost in them!

Reasons for switching to BarnManager

BarnManager had more of the features we needed for our day to day functioning- like client communications, storage of farrier and vaccination records, etc.

Best Barn Management software out there

Absolutely the best. I will never change and will always sing it’s praises!

PROS

I have used a bunch of different softwares. BarnManager is the best and saves me so much time and frustration. Support for the product is the best I’ve EVER SEEN… across all platforms and industries.

CONS

Nothing. Keep being awesome! Best customer support and product development ever.
