Xaverian High School Blackbaud Tuition Management Review
I have had a great experience with Tuition Management for the last six years. My account representative,[SENSITIVE CONTENT] is always eager to help and is always so attentive to my needs and demands. She always responds in a timely fashion and cannot be more helpful. She is the main reason why I would recommend this product to anyone.
PROSI feel that the software is user friendly for both the school and parents. The point and click features are useful and the broad range of payment options makes it easier on parents. I like that I have the option to create and customize reports, perform SSI reports and manage my account myself.
CONSI do not like that the email parents feature cannot be customized. I feel this can look too generic, especially if the communication is of high importance. I understand that accounts are family based, but I would like to have the option to view more in student based accounts. Specifically, reporting and accounting would be easier for year end in student billing.

No frills, text-based user interface with low cognitive load.
CONSIt would be better if a Parent user account would give access to more than 1 school. As it is, Parent users need to have 1 Blackbaud user account per school. For instance, 3 kids, 3 different schools = 3 separate Blackbaud Parent user accounts. This is a terrible user experience! Also, the term "BBID" on the login page and elsewhere is technical jargon that should be eliminated.

AR Software Review
The Accounts Receivables is working pretty good. However, I attribute that to my many years of getting to know Smart Tuition and having an absolutely excellent support person that has been a wonderful teacher. There are a lot of details you have to learn in order to make corrections in your invoicing and again it is very confusing and can mess up your bottom line if you are not extremely careful with undoing an item and reinvoicing.
PROSOnce I have everything input for the school year, it pretty much runs itself as long as you do not have to make any changes. It is easy to check families payments and balances.
CONSHave not been able to configure a single Custom report on my own. Cannot make my way through all the steps to come up with info I am wanting. Also, changing a payment plan absolutely drives me crazy because you lose the first months if you change after the payment year begins!!! I really do not like that part at all.

[SENSITIVE CONTENT] and the customer support team are OUTSTANDING. Really. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has saved my life/job/mental state SO MANY times with her calm, cool and complete ability to fix my world. She responds to the dumbest inquiries with patience and professionalism. She is careful to always explain things and never signs off until I really "get it." I appreciate her so sincerely. The ONLINE Chat feature is CRITICAL. I use it so much and your customer service team is really REALLY Grade A.

Great product
The whole billing, invoicing, communications to parents are managed by BBTM. Parents contact you only for specific questions or assistance. You do not have to do all of this and just monitor that everything runs smoothly.
PROSBBTM is very easy to use and very intuitive. You can go back to the previous school years and find fast all the data you need.
CONSThe invoices are not clear and very difficult to understand. Parents call often to complain and ask questions as even for them they are difficult to comprehend. Third Party Payers names cannot be added on them.

Tuition Management
With the help of my Blackbaud Tuition Management rep, things run smoothly.
CONSSchool assigned Student IDs do not transfer year over year which is annoying. Also the tuition allocation is not divided based on charges and has to be changed by your team every year.

Our customer service rep, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is very helpful and knowledgeable
PROSIt is user friendly and has many options for different reports
CONSI would like to be able to email an invoice through the communications tab to all customers when necessary. Currently can not send to customers who are on automatic payment. Occasionally a payment will fail and they owe a balance or I may add a new fee and want to send a revised bill. It is a huge disadvantage to not be able to do that. Please see if this request can be fulfilled

Internal Problems/Inconsistent
Consistency is a problem, as well as expertise.
PROSA point of resolution for many consumers. Invoices could be sent using emails with a link to a PDF that could be viewed, verified, and then subsequently paid. Their corresponding accounts would then be updated accordingly.
CONSOverall competence of the internal staff is quite low. Additional problems are created when attempting to resolve simple issues related to invoicing, wire payments, etc. The website is also inaccurate, along with the corresponding links being provided. English is also a problem when speaking with customer representatives. Blackbaud has many areas of improvement and if given the choice, I would not engage them in the future.

VCS Blackbaud
The system is not very flexible. Whenever there is a problem it takes too long for tech support to fix.
PROSThe ability to upload billing data. Being able to see details billing on the system.
CONSThe reporting side is bad. Very hard to customize reporting. Also how long it takes for funds to be settled and transferred to our bank. It appears Blackbaud holds onto funds much longer than they should.

Blackbaud Tuition Management Review
We are in the midst of trying to resolve how to reconcile BTM to our GL with the Accounting team at BTM. Since this is not included via Customer Support, we elected to pay for consulting.
PROSThe product is easy to use. Generating reports is an important aspect of this software.
CONSI am still learning new tasks now that Blackbaud is providing webinars on different tasks. These webinars are very helpful.

overall a good experience and excellent customer support!
PROSEase of use, dashboard to highlight potential issues, Buy Now/Give Now are great features for tracking events that include ticket sales, etc and provide ease of payment for purchases and donations.

Blackbaud Tuition Management review
This software is very user friendly for both admin users and parents to clearly see what their charges are and gives parents options for different payment methods.
CONSThe hardest part about this software is that there is not posting dates, so it can be hard to integrate smoothly with Financial Edge.
