Simple and Automatic
My client wanted to code the Square transactions into different sales accounts and once set up Amaka does this automatically with little coding to be done in Xero.
PROSThe simplicity and automation. Once set up correctly there is only a couple steps to reconcile the transactions, the rest is automated. Each transaction is split into stock items and then coded to the correct chart of account without me having to do it manually.
CONSThe set up was a tad confusing but the support I received was very helpful.

Square to myob
Originally using Amaka was simple but when there were a few upgrades made which forced us to change the way we mapped the account code integration. We worked it out in the end, but I preferred the way we had overall choice with how to map codes. Maybe this is the difference between the free version as opposed to premium though. I will see!

Great support, and understanding client's situation

Customer Service
Easy to set up the integration initially and everything worked well for some time. It stopped syncing due to an unmapped tax code and it would not let me access the mappings. After speaking to Hani, I was given clear instructions on how to reauthenticate my account and it allowed me to check the mappings. It has hopefully solved my issues and I now know what to do in future if it happens again.
PROSHani in Support was quick to respond to my email regarding an issue with Xero integration. She gave me clear instructions on how to reconnect Xero to Square and it solved my problem.
CONSIt's a little clunky and can be a bit slow

Helpful team
Very positive and of all the other integrations we have to use as part of our business AMAKA is my favourite
PROSVery responsive and helpful team when it comes to set up and any issues that occasionally arise. Jacquelyn is particularly helpful with IMPOS x Xero integration. We also use Amaka for SQUARE x Xero integration.
CONSoccasionally the syncing can go amiss and then I have to reach out to ask the team to fix. However they are quite responsive so it's not been an issue

It's good solution for a set and go solution for revel and Amaka integrations
CONSso far nothing much. We haven't fully explored all the possible integrations.

Bumpy start but got it sorted
customer service is very responsive, very helpful
PROSA bumpy start because the settings tocapture VAT on the Sage integration were'nt set correctly. Now it works away quietly recording everything correctly

CONSUK & US timing difference sometimes means that we do not get the customer support in the short notice. The support is above all my expectations. Will always refer clients to Square and Amaka.
PROSI love how awesome the Square support staff are there to help you if you are struggling with integrating or have any questions at all. They are so happy to help. It is a fantastic software to be able to present to clients because Square's support is top notch and it is easy to reconcile/understand the integration. It is a win win when we understand the software.
CONSWhen individuals who are just getting started get set up with the software before talking to their accountants, we have had some issues with tax rates that clients have created, but are incorrect. Most of these are solved through troubleshooting with Square support, but I wonder if there is any type of wording when clients go and create accounts like, "It is advised you connect with your accountant/bookkeeper before setting up tax rates". I haven't set up a Square account from start to finish for a client so I apologize if this is already presented.

Great customer service
Angel was really helpful in helping me to understand the integration, and patient with explaining the different elements.
PROSThis has reduced the manual sales recording and reconciliation process plus the unlimited customer support.
CONSIt would be good if there were written, step-by-step explanations. That said, the live customer support is much more helpful.

Saves time
Amaka's customer service is great! You can always expect to hear back from them within 24 hours, but usually it's a lot sooner than that.
CONSI wish you could see more information on the sync history page, like the amount of the sync. That would greatly help troubleshoot sync issues. Also, the integration seems to be interrupted often. I would like to see this happen less often.

Amaka
From start to finish the service was brilliant, the integration was seamless.
PROSThe ease in which it integrates our accounting and pos systems. The customer service was absolutely brilliant. The fact that we could customise the allocation of sales items and back date them for the previous 12 months (if required)
CONSAt this point in time, there is nothing I can fault about the system.

Amaka support for Square-Xero
Overall happy to have Amaka support, can't imagine how Square would survive without Amaka (Squrae support / sales team is awful, no customer support or their product development road maps never considers tax obligations & requirement in any other countries other than US)
PROSAmaka has great customer support where the team can actually help us through online meeting
CONSI wish if the email communication can be slightly easier. I found it is always easier to book a session, but never get enough information via email somehow... but Square itself needs some review on surcharge and tax setting (for non-US customer). They process surcharge as Tax and it creates the tax never exists in the real world, and it ruins tax calculation hence the POS becomes not possible to integrate with accounting system (as it counts Tax incorrectly as well as sales).

Amaka provides an integration that we need so business transactions between systems are seamless.
Very good experience.
