The simplest solution for QA and software/workflow testing

PROS

Incredibly easy to use, highly intuitive, and virtually no learning curve. We use Mailinator for creating dummy addresses for workflow and software testing, and it saves us from bogging down our actual inboxes with test data. Mailinator has made it easy to test complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders without needing to toggle between a variety of inboxes--we now get all our test communications flowing into one place, which has enabled us to speed up our QA process significantly.

CONS

I don't have any complaints about the product. If they could eventually roll out an SMS inbox without needing to use the API, that would be incredible, but that's a big ask and is the only "weakness" I can think of offhand.

Mostly all good things to say

PROS

System uptime is functionality is mostly dependable

CONS

Certain words (like 'admin') cannot be used in test emails (they don't deliver). Certain characters (like apostrophes) cause problems for the inbox as well (emails cannot be opened).

Horrible sales team

Someone at Mailinator or likely the sales team blew up our inbound leads with a couple of dozen leads. All fake leads including their @mailinator domain.

The ridiculous spam of fake leads that put our sales team through

Hi Thomas, Unfortunately, it sounds like someone at another company was harassing your team. Mailinator is a receive-only system, meaning that it can not send emails. Whomever sent those was spoofing the @mailinator address. Again, sorry for the misfortune, but I can assure you that nobody from Mailinator would have been able to do this. -Albert

Very Easy Service!

PROS

It's really very easy to use. I use it every day and have been for a few years. It is a very reliable service.

CONS

Some services blacklist Mailinator, but not too many to put me off using it.

Essential tool for our testing team.

The Power of Mailinator

I use Mailinator public and private inboxes to automate our E2E tests. Mailinator has very critical role at this point.

PROS

Public and private inbox are awesome feature. Also it is very easy to automate the process with API

CONS

I like Mailinator a lot. I think the UI can be improved a little bit. It can be more user friendly

Mailinator is great for busy QA teams. It makes our email and SMS testing much easier.

PROS

Ease of use. Privacy. The number of features to help testers (webhooks, API, SMS integration etc.) we just couldn't find anywhere else.

CONS

Limited reading material - tricky to find out what others thought of it (hence why I'm writing this!)

Excellent product especially for small startups

Excellent- 10/10!

PROS

Mailinator is a life saver! it has helped the test team here at pepper content automate lot of our onboarding/login flows thanks to the ability of accessing OTPs via emails.The ease of use and setup is flawless and the APIs work smoothly.Documentation is good and the customer support is very fast. The verified pro version is a great product for small startups which may not have the resources to get paid version.I learn about mailinator in my current company and it is definitely going to be one of my favorite products going forward.

CONS

Nothing really - may be some more APIs for mail parsing. Sometimes I get a bounce message which can be removed. Also onboarding documentation could be improved - I didnt really know how/which authorization token to use.

Email testing made easy

I was in the market for an email testing tool to use for my Automated test cases. After a lot market research I found Mailinator which in my opinion is one of the best for the features it offers for fraction of the price compared to the competition. For a small use case like mine , I get to send/receive 300 messages a month which seems a very reasonable for free tier. There is also SMS feature available. Being able to send/receive test messages via API just makes the experience very seamless. I would definitely recommend Mailinator to my peers.

API Documentation could be a little more structed

Mailinator for development use to increase the easy way to develop web applications

My experience with mailinator is great solution for mail sandbox in order to have fast solution during the development of an web application

Automated Email Quality Control with Mailinator

It's been very positive. Some customer support was required to get my validated account, but it worked out and has been really helpful for me since then.

PROS

Mailinator has helped me identify customer segments that needed attention in our email strategy, that would have otherwise gone unnoticed! This was really helpful, and was a missing piece in our quality control.

CONS

I've used Mailinator for a really basic use case, so I cannot speak to the more in depth functions. However I can say that the look and feel of the browser layout might be my least favorite part.

An excellent option for small businesses

Since we are doing lots of test regarding the auto generated emails sent during sign-up, this is a perfect solution and the $0 price point is literally impossible to beat.

PROS

The Pro feature being free for a single user is great because I can receive test emails for the project I'm managing and make sure that everything looks exactly how I want it to.

CONS

It would be nice if I could have the emails forwarded to another email address instead of having to log into the website to access those emails.

A Need for Any Business

Amazing!

PROS

Having Mailinator has been a huge lift with making sure automation work well for my clients before release and helps us review copy as a client sees it versus the standard merge fields.

Great Service!

Overall, my experience with the service was very positive and will refer others, and if we need further services I will speak with my employer about upgrading the package here.

PROS

Great service to test out scripts for social media platform sign-ups. I help to run a social media platform, and I was helping to troubleshoot the e-mail verifications, Mailinator had some tools that made the process easy.

CONS

I have no complaints really, seeing that we're a small operation, and my part was small.
