Great product, great company

The staff at Aetopia are friendly and easy to work with. Whenever we have issues or questions, they respond in a timely manner and offer workable solutions. They also take the time to understand our business needs and work with us to achieve our aims. They also respect our change control requirements, providing the necessary information that documents releases and fixes to our systems.

PROS

Aetopia's digital asset management system (DAMS) is incredibly user friendly. Navigation and searching is straightforward and the presence of filters makes it easy for our users to locate what they need. I like the level of control we have with our taxonomy and user access.

CONS

As with any new system, integration with existing processes will always prove challenging, particularly integration with other systems. There are some aspects we still working on with Aetopia, like image dimension metadata visible in the API, but this is currently being investigated.

Racing Post Photos & Aetopia

We have a great relationship with [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and the team at Aetopia and continue to work together to provide a best in class system. They have always been willing to help and continue to assist us in delivering our assets to the best of our ability.

PROS

I like the Aetopia software as it allows me to micro manage everything in one place when it comes to our product. From contributors getting their images uploaded in the correct format, to being able to deliver these assets to clients in a various amount of ways and then reporting on the transactions is great. It allows a self management of the product where I do not need to manage anything on a daily basis and given the support is great we have no downtime whatsoever and if there are any issues, the support team respond in a quick manner.

CONS

There's nothing I dislike, Aetopia are more than willing to work with us on making tweaks to the DAM system if we look to make any changes as we have done and the system is fully malleable to our requirements.

Your digital assets are in safe and experienced hands with Aetopia DAM

We have been supplying the Aetopia software to our clients for over 5 years now, to support the upload/storage/management of millions of videos captured by our cameras. Their experience in digital asset management, data security and data storage is second to none, which helps us supply our solution to our clients with ease.

PROS

We use the Aetopia cloud to host our assets. It is very scalable which helps support our rapid growth. The solution is now supporting the daily upload of thousands of full HD videos, with that number growing every week. In our industry, data security is of high importance. When supplying our product to police forces, there is not a single box the Aetopia software hasn't ticked when it comes to data storage/retention/processing. The software is user friendly. This helps our clients get up to speed quickly with minimal training required from our end.

CONS

None. In the extremely rare event of an urgent/critical issue, Aetopia throw maximum resources at ensuring it is fixed immediately.

Partnership with Aetopia

C2K have been in partnership with Aetopia for 8 years. During this time there have been several upgrades and innovations to keep the service relevant and fresh. We have a service contract with the company which ensures any issues, enquiries and developments are dealt with extremely promptly. The staff at Aetopia are highly skilled and innovative - yet always explain issues and options in layman's terms when required.

PROS

The Aetopia Dam is central to the success of the C2K Newsdesk. The service is available through individual, personalised login to every pupil and teacher in Northern Ireland. It is accessed thousands of times each school day and has proven to be reliable and robust, comfortable handling the volume of traffic that flows through it each day.

CONS

I would struggle to name anything negative about Aetopia or their Dam.

Reasons for switching to Aetopia

The appeal of using a local company to develop and support a service for Northern Ireland schools - plus recommendations from colleagues.

Aetopia - DMR Solution

The overall experience with Aetopia is easily one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. I you hit any issues with the application if you call or email their support, within minutes they are on a call and aiding with the issue. I've never had an extended wait for a reply or support and can't fault this service at all. Their knowledge is second to none, they know the solution inside and out and their expertise in their solution and the platforms that they reside on are exemplary.

PROS

The speed at which the software works and that there are very few issues with it and it just works. We can tie this into other applications in order to get files into it and manage cases with ease.

CONS

The only issue you get at times is with users who will try to restrict their files and it will remove themselves from it also if they deny themselves from their case. Its easily solved, just users will keep locking themselves out with the ACL.

Excellent DAM platform with a very responsive team

PROS

One of the core assets of our business is a large archive of historical editorial images. Over the last twenty years, we have used four different digital asset management companies, and of these Aetopia has unquestionably offered the best service and platform. In particular, the capacity for metadata searching and bulk editing has gone a long way to improving the speed of our daily workflows.

CONS

So far we have encountered very few problems, and those that we have run across have been quickly addressed by Aetopia once we reported them.

Reason for choosing Aetopia

Aetopia provided all of the elements we required in a DAM system, but ultimately it was due to the personal and rapid responses from their team.

Reasons for switching to Aetopia

The old platform was unable to keep up with developing technologies.

A blessing!

It has been a pleasure to work with the Aetopia team from the construction of our site to the constant use of the software now. the few questions we do raise never go unanswered and the team are unfailingly helpful. The software has increased our sales and enabled us to have an online archive.

PROS

The software has enabled us to increase our speed of delivery and it is now possible to complete a request in an hour. It has also been successful as a source of reference for all our clients and ourselves. Easy and efficient to use.

CONS

The client search is a little tricky when assigning lightbox access.

Reason for choosing Aetopia

Looked at others but chose Aetopia for the flexibility of the product as we wished to have a secure online database but to be able to liaise and sell to clients.

Your in safe hands

If Aetopia could get 10 stars for support they deserve it, Stephen, Gerard and the team are always quick to react (even out of office hours). Any issues are quickly identified and dealt with the upmost professionalism and efficiency, They always go that extra mile and as a result. You feel you are in safe hands with Aetopia.

PROS

Customer Support, Ease of use, new features are explained in great detail, reassurance and support are second to none.

CONS

We are currently several major versions behind (upgrade work ongoing currently), all issues identified in our current version have already been addressed and improved upon in the most recent release, thus proving Aetopia listen to customer feedback and know with precision how there product is built.

Aetopia provide excellent support to our company. Even though there is no formal support / response time SLA's in place, their response times to critical issues are always excellent

PROS

Image syndication / distribution system is very robust and flexible. In addition to automatic "pushes" to our media clients via FTP, it also offers a client logon option for them to search and download images.

CONS

We are sometimes limited in what asthetic changes we can make to the front of our website. However, this is understandable for such a comprehensive asset management system which operates both as an online store for the public to purchase image prints as well as a content distribution system to our media clients.

Image Management System by Aetopia

Aetopia have always been so helpful and proactive with support issues. They are keen to help in any way they can and are open to suggestions on how the system can be developed as needs arise.

PROS

The system includes an API, which has enabled us to develop a bulk image ingest system. This automates much of work to get assets added to the system. The search feature offers many choices to find assets and is easy to use.

CONS

A feature that would be helpful is if the system would detect issues with the underlying storage system before attempting to create an asset. If the system were to send out an alert instead, that would help to prevent work to fix the affected assets.

Reasons for switching to Aetopia

The company that created TOAD no longer existed. The product was very basic in features, leading to a poor user experience.

Great company to work with

Very flexible software, lots of features out of the box, with change requests reasonably priced and swiftly delivered

CONS

Anything we wanted added / changed was delivered through change requests, so we are very happy with the software.
