Super effortless
Super user friendly and overall great for customizing your copy.
PROSThis is super easy to integrate an the dashboard is extremely user friendly.
CONSThe desktop feature is currently not working, so this isn't an option for signups/opting in.

Was a big fan - but NOTE that they've changed services - no more CSM. Feature updates needed!
I loved Emotive at the start. While there were feature updates that were (and still are) desperately needed (e.g. keyword trigger, better analytics, better subscriber profile data, etc), their service was top notch. Now, with the cost-savings move of removing the CSM team, they are just an overpriced version of many other SMS marketing tools. We're going to be reaching out to other providers we tested in the sales process to consider switching. Why pay more for the same service? The access to a dedicated support team was a huge benefit, but was removed under the guise of "new benefits" That being said, the ROI has been great. But we can achieve similar results with another, lower cost provider that follows through on promises made in the sales cycle.
PROSRelatively easy to set up, configures with Wisepops (although it seems that are going to be doing away with that benefit, too). Great ROI return
CONSWas a huge fan of their included resources - a dedicated CSM & copywriter. However, they announced that those are gone and customers no longer have access to any personalized resources. Instead they have a "strategy team" which is a faceless group of people who you can contact via a Zendesk form. They also have webinars to replace the CSM relationship, but in my experience, these have not been valuable to our brand (almost entirely just heavy sales tricks - not community building ideas)

Inexpensive way to track email customers!
I had a great experience working with the team at Emotive. They were incredibly helpful and collaborative, ensuring that our account tracked users efficiently and accurately. What impressed me most was their understanding of how we wanted to target our audience across our various products.[sensitive content hidden] were particularly responsive and patient, addressing all of my questions promptly. I'm very grateful for their guidance in navigating Emotive's metrics.
PROSI like how it can track users after 7 days. We currently use Klaviyo, but having Emotive helps with tracking even more users.
CONSWe pay for users tracked but not emails sent. I wish we could pay for the amount of emails it sends. This is because we have a high-cost product, so browse abandonment emails don't work as well as abandoned checkout/abandoned cart emails. However, we would still get charged for people tracked through browse abandonment.
Reason for choosing Emotive
I chose Emotive to use in collaboration with Klaviyo. We are very happy with our texting service Attentive, so we did not want to switch.

Get Everything In Writing
I cannot in good conscience provide any positive outlook as their customer service and billing practices overshadow anything good.
CONSFirst of all, they bill on a quarterly basis, which for a small business is a lot of money to commit up front. the reason for this negative review (which I have never previously taken the time to do for any company).... We consolidated our sms with our email partner (Klaviyo) to both save money and eliminate duplicating efforts. I had a conversation with one of their reps, [SENSITIVE CONTENT], prior to the final quarterly billing to see if they would accommodate our desire to cut our Emotive ties since we had moved sms to Klaviyo. Over what seemed to be a very gracious and fruitful conversation, he confirmed that he would accommodate our request and that we would no longer be billed. I took him on his word and failed (my bad) to follow up in writing. They, of course, since they had a credit card on file with them, charged me the $1,200 for the next quarter. When I reached out to [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to rectify the situation, he said that we never discussed this and to refer to the email he sent (which doesn't exist - I had cc'd support at Emotive so he was doing his best CMA dance). And repeated follow-ups with customer service were futile, and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has since ghosted me, never returning another email. He is a chiseler. If you do decide to work with them, my advice: don't sign a long-term agreement and make sure you get everything in writing. You're dealing with a duplicitous organization.

Great platform, and amazing support.
Great platform, and amazing support. My experience with emotive is very positive. I have tried all other platforms and switched from Klayvio and Attentive and this is by far the best SMS platform out there.
