Top Tier Platform For Auto Parts and Accessories Ecommerce

My company Spork Marketing provides services to some of Web Shop Manager's clients. As a result, I have seen dozens of implementations of the Web Shop Manager platform over the last decade. Throughout the years, the web shop platform has been one of the best options on the market for auto parts and accessories ecommerce. We've seen the system used by both brands and retailers, and we've consistently found it to be one of the best options on the market. In the pros column, it has good support for fitment-based lookups (eg year-make-model search), wholesale logins with multi-tier wholesale pricing, excellent customer support, dealer locate, and a roundly good set of standard ecommerce capabilities and features. The CSV data import system is excellent, and once you figure out how to use it, it allows for complete control of website data. In the negatives column, there's a fairly steep learning curve with the CSV system, and the documentation on various features is hit or miss. I see that Web Shop is working on documentation (they've added a wiki and it's steadily improving), but it's still not quite as well documented as some of the other platforms out there. But overall it's an excellent tool for ecommerce. We have recommended it to our clients for a long time, and I'm happy to leave a glowing review.

Great to deal with start to finish!!

Overall I am thankful I went with Webshop Manager I just wish I would have made the switch years ago as it would have saved me money and frustration.

PROS

The back end of the site is easy to use and user friendly. The staff was very detailed & organized along the whole process from start to finish. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped us learn the product along the build out.

CONS

Quite the learning curve to understand the CSV file loading.

Reasons for switching to Web Shop Manager

I made the switch as I saw their client list and the sites they had built were very easy to navigate.

"Watch out" - This Platform could put you out of business!

To get our company launched and live in a short period of time it was great. For the first year things were great but after your there for one year here comes the pain. They tripled our monthly fee and the service went down the toilet. For a new business that is not even profitable for the first 4 to 5 years this is devastating. They literally almost put us out of business and when their in charge of your server and site they have your hands tied. Pay or they will shut you down. Thank god we saw this coming so hired several developers and built a Magento 2 site on the side. We are now far away from WSM and own our own server. No one can ever threaten to shut our website down and put us out of business. My advise is if you can afford to pay triple the price you are quoted after one year and don't need tech support then this company is for you. If your a new E-commerce business "Stay far away from WSM unless you have very very deep pockets and don't need good support"

PROS

It was easy to use and our site was up and running in about 6 weeks.

CONS

Support Issues some took months to get resolved and some never resolved.

Great customer service and system!

We are very satisfied with the WSM team and the service they are providing for us for years. We see how they are continuously improving their team and customer service, as well as their system to keep up with the new technical challenges in e-commerce.

PROS

We are working with WSM for 3+ years and they built multiple websites together for the different brands we have. WSM's customer service is exceptional, all operators are always friendly and helpful. It is easy to reach everybody or if they are unavailable, they always give us a callback right away. The ticket system is easy to use and makes follow up and communication very quick and efficient. Majority of the time the tickets are solved quickly or at least we always receive an update on the project. Their developers' knowledge and willingness to go above and beyond to help us with solutions is exceptional. They were willing to put the extra time and effort to make all our request happen. The recently redesigned back-end is user-friendly and very easy to use.

CONS

The only area for improvement that I could point out is the lack of focus on Facebook and Google Analytics integration, which they have improved in the past few months.

Web Shop Manager is A+

Web Shop Manager has been a team player with our company from Day 1, from the smallest details to the 30,000-foot view their input and expertise has been without measure. Our online sales have grown significantly, not only with the WSM Platform but also with their professional suggestions and advice.

PROS

Front end speed is excellent. WSM provides all the tools that are necessary to configure the right store front with enough options to make your product presentation and your store front unique. Easy to use back-end for configuring inventory and working with customer sales orders.

CONS

Sales reporting relative to inventory and brands is a challenge, but the WSM Team is working on this to make it a standard report for quick viewing. Our facility could use a little more options for Freight Pricing.

Service was excellent, now it is poor!!!

Very good software but POOR customer service!

PROS

User and admin friendly, excellent graphics

CONS

Cart has many limitations, customer service was excellent when we first established the site - but now we are IGNORED. The required "open a case file" to report an issue just adds a layer of bureaucracy making things slow down... Right now, none of our inquiry forms have worked for a week, Recaptcha does not work, customers have had trouble creating new accounts... and WSM customer service is non-responsive.

Great product!

Excellent experience!

PROS

Customer service does not get any better in my experience! These guys take all the hassle, stress and BS out of running an e-storeā€¦.highly recommended! Also, SEO is VERY effective if used properly.

CONS

No complaints at all, the software functions as advertised.

Perfect for an automotive tuned site

Over all VERY Happy with WSM and would recommend to others.

PROS

They know how to design and build a site that caters to the aftermarket sellers. The site does a great job making is easy to buy while being informative to the researcher consumer. Very easy to use the back end and update directly.

CONS

Not the best with plugin apps, but there is always a work around. So really we have never hit a roadblock just had to be creative.

Heavenly CMS !

Love the back end system offered by web shop manager. It makes what would seem like a daunting task quite easy. I am actually surprised how easy it is !

PROS

Adding and editing products is a breeze. The way the categories are set up is self explanatory and easy to navigate.

CONS

Sometimes I have small issues but not often.

Great salesman, bad execution

Horrible nightmare

Great visual aspect, site looks good from the front end on selection as long as don't use the search engine or make and model setup

CONS

They like through their teeth to get you to sign off and find out how it worked after it's to late. Site doesn't function or work very well. Can't navigate at all

Great experience working with the WSM team!

I recently completed a pretty large project on the Web Shop Manager platform and I had a great experience working with the team. Dale managed the project and did a tremendous job keeping us on time and on budget. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a turn key solution with a high end custom design.
