I really enjoy all of my ecounters with Firmex except the inability to use it from a mobile phone

The ability to easily move / copy documents

It is hard to use on a mobile phone and use from a mobile application standpoint

For the Real Estate and Investment banking, the sharing of confidential documents within the company and taking on projects being in a group has been made easier. The legal documents and the finances which cannot be exposed can be accessed and updated from anywhere with Login access, for example on my iPhone. Tracking old files is much easier, as we go through sharing hundereds of files everyday with corrections pointed and re-corrected.

The custom sharing platform which is secured and the visibility control for employees. The best part of software is the document validity & password we can set and the people we can choose from list that can access or view the documents. Also the same document cannot be shared by E-mail or any other non Data-room platform and if done. We can control the share and track of the confidential documents.

The drawback of this software is that we cannot assign different permission or access levels to people in same group. Also, the time stamp cannot be changes to local time, it's always EST available.

My overall experience of Firmex Virtual Data Room is very positive.

I like the level of control in relation to managing permissions to be very important and efficient with Firmex Virtual Data Room.

It's incredibly intuitive, easy to set up, and has all the functionality of the more expensive dataroom sites. The flat cost is a huge benefit as well, I use it for every deal I'm a part of.

Not much to complain about to be honest. It has all the features you need, is easier to use than other sites, and is less expensive.

We use Firmex as a data room for mergers and acquisitions. It is very helpful in the due diligence process. The security and organizational features are also good, as it allows us to grant or deny access to the various files based upon the user and the stage of the transaction.

It is easy to upload and organize data and documents.

The initial set up of a new matter is somewhat cumbersome. However, we don't have any substantial cons.

I received one on one training when I started using Firmex, which was very helpful. After the training, Firmex has been easy to use and always helpful.

Look and feel could be better to improve the navigation

Administrative tools and controls make it super easy to manage diverse user groups. Setting up the data room from a well-organized internal file share is very easy and efficient. Interface is relatively intuitive and most users are able to navigate with ease.

The cost of storage can become significant if you are trying to create a comprehensive data room for projects which have a lot of data. Some users have difficulty navigating the data room structure. Automated invitation emails are sometimes intercepted by email filter programs and require additional coordination with end-users to bypass these.

Our company is very satisfied with the implementation of our Firmex virtual data rooms. We share large volumes of data with investors in our loan product and Firmex has given us the ability to provide a platform for seamless investor access to our files.

The ease of use and organization of the data rooms made the implementation very easy for our company. In addition, the initial and follow-up support for our internal users is unparalleled in the software industry.

The software is easy to use and inexpensive relative to comparable solutions. Monitoring and Q&A functions come in handy when working with multiple groups on a project.

The software lacks a good viewer and is sometimes complicated to use with regard to the automatic numbering function. Moreover, it should support more languages.

Our firm has used Firmex VDRs for dozens of investment banking transactions and are very pleased with the product they put out as well as the support and service we receive.

The functionality is perfect for running a VDR to share documents and files with many parties while controlling the document flow and accessibility of any party on any document. The product is very competitively priced compared to a lot of the service providers out there. Customer service is very prompt and happy to walk you through any issue, small or large. Firmex is also continually improving its services.

Security functionality is limited once the files have been downloaded by another party (if you allow them to download). Once a party bulk downloads you lose the ability to track their access and usage of documents and delete the document if you would like to remove their access from the information completely.

It is my go to data room provider.

Creating folders once the main folder structure is set can be difficult.

I like using Firmex once I figured out how to use. But I shouldn't have to figure out how to use. It should be easy to use.

Once you figure out how to use its easy but I had to take the time out to figure out. Uploading and downloading is very easy, this function is easy to figure out. But we have to make sure the "Upload, all at once" button has to be clicked. Customer service is excellent.

Its easy to use once you used it. But its not easy to figure out how to use. If I want to create a new folder, it should be easy to find and to use it. Its not clear what "Add Directory" is. I had to go to the help section to obtain a clear answer. It looks like a folder once I "ADD Directory". And the folder color is grey and stays grey. To me, grey is not being used or not functioning. Color should be change to a folder color or some other color. I had ppl email me that they had access and no longer have access. I have to send another invite, so there is some disconnect there. And it happened with ppl that used Firmex many times before. Is not clear how to add or delete ppl when you are adding them to the Firmex.

The ability to create various security levels is vital to the value of this platform. The interface is user friendly which makes it essential when dealing with international clients. Lastly, we have not had any downtime with Firmex which has made the ability to share documents in real time remain seamless.

I would say the ability to have a template email invitation. Maybe it is there but I have not seen it.

The most important thing about Firmex is it's easiness of use. You can deploy a VDR quickly to people that don't need training or instruction.

Other products offer many bells and whistles that Firmex doesn't have but adding those would probably impact the cost of the solution and it's easiness. We've selected the product so it fits a simple situation and would like that it stays that way.
