Training Today review
Our company has used Training Today for several years and we are very happy with it. It is easy to use.
PROSLarge catalog of training modules that meet the needs of our agency.
CONSSometimes the modules will freeze but is easily fixed if you change search engines.

CONSOverkill on some media. Not all who take this training will be adversely affected. As someone who is not directly working in a laboratory environment, I found the tutorials overkill. Perhaps having training for those working directly with chemicals and those not working with chemicals would be advantageous.

Training Today
I preferred the old version over the new. I am still working with the new version, but overall, it's features are not user friendly.
PROSI really liked the majority of the features in the previous version of the software. I do like how this version will show an individual as 100% complete without clicking on the individual and looking at all the modules invididually.
CONSMost features still do not work correctly. I spend a lot of time emailing the help@blr. I cannot view course activity. I cannot reset passwords. I cannot remove a user, I can deactivate a user, but they stay in the viewing area which does not help clean up the process.

Great affordable training option
Our overall experience with Training Today has been great.
PROSIt was easy to go through the course selection to set up monthly training for employees. Employees are notified of monthly training.
CONSSetting up reports to get the information needed has been difficult to set up. Customer service was a help to get the reports set up and automated.

Resetting course status on upgrade or annual classes needed
Excellent variety of training courses, lots of practical knowledge, and the transcripts often have additional information that might have been missed in a casual listening. The questions require some note-taking, but not an extreme level.
CONSIt is possible for someone to complete a class once, and that completion will be permanent. Even if a company has a requirement for the class to be retaken annually, the class does not reset from its completion status. Similarly, if a course is updated there is no way that I can see for the course to have its completion status reset so the user is required to take the course to get up-to-date knowledge. By allowing for 'resetting' the completion status for annual review or updated knowledge, this allows a company to ensure that its employees are receiving the most up-to-date knowledge. In the "Course Listing" screen, in the left side, under the 'Tags' section, there five tags that are English words/abbreviations, and several dozen alphanumeric tags that start with 'x'. Do those 'x' tags need to be displayed? In the "Course Listing" screen, in the left side, for language options, selecting 'English' does not 'suppress' all of the courses offered in Spanish. For example the "Accident Investigation" classes in both English and Spanish are displayed in the list even though only the 'English' option is selected. However for "Acute Respiratory Illness Pandemics" the Spanish version is not displayed. So some classes are configured correctly for different languages, and some are not.

Migration and Tech Issues
Overall I have been very disappointed in the product on all levels. It's been nothing but issues and ongoing since day one.
PROSI don't like anything about the product.
CONSThe old system Coggno was awful to use and still technical issues on the new platform GOLD. Migration was horrible. All the training courses were not ported over correctly and it took a month for the migration to complete. Courses that were never taken posted. Customer Service was poor. Emailed the service team and they did not respond in a timely manners. Months to get resolution. Running reports was not easy. Training videos were outdated. Email notifications were sent 50 times to admin users in error.

Wonderful, but not perfect.

PROSA wide variety of training available to learners.
CONSTwo items:1) Specify industry for training. Some titles sound like it would be excellent training, then the learner dives in and it is in a completely different industry that theirs. That information on the front would be great.2) The search function is limited, and only pulls based off exactly what is in the search bar. If a learner misspells anything, the desired results won't show.

The worst program - not user friendly
Awful; the platform is difficult, onerous and cannot get answers to problems easily.
PROSThe content is good, but navigating the system is horrible.
CONSThe migration to the new platform is awful. impossible to do what I need to do.

Enjoyed using TrainingToday
Overall, my experience with TrainingToday has been positive. They offer a wide variety of training topics and their courses are generally easy to follow. I appreciate that they offer both video and written content, as this allows me to learn in the way that best suits my needs. I have found their customer service to be responsive and helpful. The online courses are very user-friendly and the customer service is excellent. I would definitely recommend Training Today to others.
PROSThe most appealing aspect of TrainingToday is the wide range of topics covered. Whether you're looking for information on customer service or manufacturing, you're likely to find a course that covers your needs. The courses are also conveniently divided into bite-sized modules, so you can easily complete them on your lunch break or during a slow day at work. The content was relevant and well organized. I also appreciated the ability to print out articles and handouts.
CONSThe least liked feature of TrainingToday would be the inability to easily access certain features or information without first completing a module. Additionally, some of the information included in the modules was not necessary for our particular needs.

Well done, but missing some information.
Its a solid B or B+ level product. I was disappointed there was no way to post questions or comments on individual information statements or quiz questions. Depending on the experience and qualifications of the people taking your courses, you could probably gain a lot of free insights to make your modules better.
PROSThe UI is good, the pacing is all right. The visuals are good. Most of the information was presented adequately.
CONSSome of the information was incomplete and some of the questions were misleading to outright incorrect. For example, "Is outdoor use of electricity a potential danger area at home?" The correct response was no. There are multiple instances of this not being true I can only presume the person or team that put this part of the safety section together was deficient in general electrical knowledge and specific NFPA code requirements. There were 2 or 3 other areas that had questionable amounts of accuracy or went into great detail on certain aspects but completely skipped other as important considerations all together.

CONSThey should include a different practice test as the one included is the only one available to those who are preparing for the test. It was a tremendous disappointment to see that the test they offered after completing boot camp was the same as the only one available to us outside of bootcamp. In short, they should offer another practice test with new questions.

A lot of topics. Coursework is easy to follow and understand.
CONSThere is needs to be a better notifications system implemented. I cannot see when specific coursework is due, and I do not get any notifications if I have missed a deadline. HR has to send me a note that I have missed something or that something is becoming due. I would like to see the ability for notifications to be sent to me specifically.

Error reporting
As a user, the software is very appealing and friendly. I have no experience with the administration of the software.
CONSAs a use of the software, I would like to have a way to report errors or glitches in the program. In one of the courses, all of the letter "f" were formatted as a box (wingding?) and made the narrative very difficult to follow. There is no way to report this type of thing.

Class is great for people who don't want to read. Otherwise, it was not a useful class.
Would not ever spend that kind of money on a class like this had I known.
PROSFound nothing really helpful that would warranty spending $800 again.
CONSIt literally reads the book to you and then you take the exact same test that the book offers as a pretest. The CCDS test is absolutely nothing like your practice test.

I picked this one because it was recommended by the acdis hcpro list. I would not ever recommend this to another cdi who is trying to prepare for the CCDS. It was costly and does not help in any way.
