Simple to use, easy to update, and way better than Google Drive

I've talked to our head of enablement and she's a big fan. It's not as powerful as a Seismic or ThoughSpot, but not sure if that's really an apple to apple comparison. If you need a better way to organize sales material, important internal employee info, (i.e. equity FAQs, or ERG information, etc.) than this is much more seamless and easily searchable way for your team. It will save them time vs. going down the rabbit hole in DRive, Dropbox or Box.

PROS

We use Guru from everything to HR, Finance and Sales. The "cards" are easy to set-up, they're time-stamped so you know they're up to date, and you can give a set of people admin access to make updates. For everyone else, they can leave comments and make suggestions so your data stays fresh and can be crowdsourced. I personally love the Chrome plug in, the search in Guru is really good and I rarely have trouble finding a card for whatever I'm searching for. One thing I also like is you can download the card content to PDF< this comes in handy when the content is customer facing, just 1-click and fire it out off in an email or copy the content and paste.

CONS

Like anything, the cards can get a bit out of control, it can be hard to update and integrations are limited. It's still much easier and simpler UI than just creating a bunch of folders in Drive. I personally like it much more than Concur as well.

Guru for a SME

PROS

Easy to find content Simple Interface Support tools for sending warnings ans generate reports Visual interface of the knowledge base

CONS

From my experience what we're lacking on Guru is a way to manage the groups of a specific Team. This would allow all regional teams to manage themselves without so many dependence of a Guru Management team

Previous one had a poor search mechanism making pretty hard to found the correct information

Guru for Users

so far so good while am still learning how to maximize this platform

PROS

I just started using this and noticed that it's an all-in-one platform for managing things like projects and tasks

CONS

the help tool wasn't as efficient as I thought it would be as the self-help was not as intuitive while on-the-go usage/training

Guru is Great!

PROS

It's so easy to write documentation! They make it almost like a game, it's fun! The UI is fantastic

CONS

It has limited text editor capabilities so you can't do any of the cool formatting or design you'd be able to do in Microsoft Word or a different text editor.

Pros and Cons of My Guru Experience.

Its been amazing and easy to use, been able to retain a lot of information because of the way guru has organised and put information in order, to easy spot out and use, top notch.

PROS

the ease to copying and pasting any information, sharing to other. the ease of access all you need with only typing the words and bring up all cards of information to select from. the ability to add items to favourite in other to spot out quickly

CONS

the drag and drop down, when you have to click to drop down before you access and information, makes it harder to spot of an information quickly.

Use Guru for work!

Best uses of Guru

I use Guru daily as our knowledge base on work in Car Rental and my freelance work in the gaming industry.

PROS

What I like to most is the navigation in Guru where it is very convenient and it is entirely broad from categorization.

CONS

I have not found anything I dislike in Guru so far.

Efficient knowledge based tool.

This is a great tool in providing knowledge, updates about the process we have at work. In addition, this helps us in efficiently help our customers and is easier to use.

Our team's preferred internal knowledge base

It's essential -- we cannot do our jobs efficiently or consistently without Guru.

PROS

Information health is critical, so the verification status of each card in Guru helps our team know how trustworthy each card is.

CONS

Folders can only go 3 deep (folder within a folder within a folder). This means I need to rethink the organizational structure of cards to ensure a ton of information doesn't end up in a single folder making it difficult to locate stuff)

Reasons for switching to Guru

Updating our SOPs in Confluence was challenging because there was no set way to know when information expired. We were only a little better than using folders in Google Drive when using Confluence. When our team learned we could set verification intervals and expiration dates for Guru cards, suddenly our SOPs went from over 80% stale to 95% current.

An overall great way to organize information as one single source of truth!

Overall we are very happy with the platform and features. It has really helped us align and eliminate conflicting information.

PROS

It's easy to create, easy to upload and easy to organize information in a useful and productive way. The AI search is also really useful for getting answers quick, as is using AI to help you create net new content.

CONS

The recommended cards on the dashboard aren't particularly useful for me, but overall there's really nothing to dislike.

The UI and ease of use. Guru is definitely more intuitive and easy to use.

Knowledge Management for the Future

PROS

Guru has been such a benefit to our company, it's ability to connect and intergrate with other common work programs has made it much easier to implement. As someone who edits and creates resources within Guru there are a lot of wonderful features when building these cards to help share information in different and visually appealing ways. The Guru support teams are also always very responsive and open to feedback within their forum. Many features have been implemented just in the time we've been using it that have only served to improve the product.

CONS

It would be nice if the search function was more intuitive, right now you have to have a good idea of what you're looking for when searching, and if you don't type it in exactly you're unlikely to get a decent result. The implementation of "Answers" has helped this tremendously, but it would be nice to have in the search functionality.

Guru is the best knowledge best tool

PROS

What I like best about Guru is the fact that everything is accessible and user-friendly. You can create cards, you can share your knowledge and ideas with your community. I can see which has been verified as well for additional credibility.It was nice as well to see who creted each cards and when were they created. I love the fact that there is a "my library" so I can "favorite" cards that I usually use and as there were cases I forgot which card I opened, I can check it on the "recently viewed" It was a good tool indeed, an encyclopedia for each community.

CONS

I honestly can't find anything to dislike about Guru. It has been part of my everyday life at work and even on rest days when I just want to read some cards and it was very helpful. I feel like there are still so much to explore on the tool that I haven't had the chance to check yet.

Guru is the greatest!

In my role, I need to be able to know nearly everything in order to support both internal stakeholders and external customers. Before Guru, finding information was extremely time-consuming, and you never knew if what you found was actually up-to-date since our company is a constantly evolving start-up. Thanks to Guru, my team has been able to create a fast and reliable knowledge base, and others within the org are jumping in as well. Guru has revolutionized how we create and access knowledge, increasing our efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration by leaps and bounds.

CONS

I wish the Starter plan had a little more functionality, like the ability to use Zapier and some limited analytics.The Chrome extension periodically has glitches.The higher tier plans are cost-prohibitive for a smaller company.

Guru is an outstanding software that is a necessity in any kind of work!

Guru makes my life at work much easier compared to other software that I used before. I would recommend this to other people and it is something that I would always brag to other people that is working in the same kind of industry where I am currently working. Honestly, I would also recommend this to other people who does not work in the same industry as mine. Kudos to Guru!

PROS

Guru is a user-friendly software that makes life of the user much easier whenever they need to use it. In my job, I always make sure I have my guru ready because this is our knowledge-based tool and whenever I need to search something, it is very easy to search what I need to look for. It is also very accessible.

CONS

Honestly, there is nothing that I didn't like or like the least about Guru. It is perfect for my job and it is something that I would recommend to other people. Guru is a type of software that does not have a con or negative side in it.

Review for Guru

Its very useful and our company has titled heavily towards using it. Its useful.

PROS

The clean look and simplicity of use. It's fairly intuitive and I am able to generally find what I need. I dont know if its my organization or guru, but I feel like the first page/landing page for us employees when we first login could be laid out better where the new content draws the eye more, right now what draws the eye most is, in my estimation, useless information - highlighted boxes for "Total number of cards " Top verifiers" and "Top Authors" That should be under settings, Who cares,. Should not be the most prominent thing when I login to Guru. A Better layout in my estimation should be a Netflix style gallery of cards - two rows, one row on top 5 most searched cards for easy access, second row 5 newest additions. That should cover about 80% of our searches.

CONS

I don't feel like the search results are the best. They are good, but I do think they could be better.

The Company Brain

Guru helps us get new hires up to speed quickly and helps our fast growing organization keep everyone on the same page. Stops interruptions and the frustration of trying to find the right and most recent information. Solves the huge timezone challenges with teams working globally and it is impossible to connect to head office easily.

PROS

There is lots to like in this knowledge management platform. New hires absolutely love being able to find the information then need and trust it once they have found it. 1) Ease of use: Integration with GSuite and a Chrome extension make it easy to find and create content 2) Great search function and AI 3) Validation of information so users know what they are reading is current.

CONS

layout tools of the individual cards is a bit weak. It has an export to PDF function that we will never use because you can't create nice looking cards.

Love for Guru

We solve lots of avoidance of miscommunication and easy places to find simple learnings which saves our team lots of time.

PROS

The Guru extension is my favorite feature. It follows the website well and everything you need to see is visible and it rarely has any slow downs or update issues. The constant updates on our cards is crucial as we always change processes in sales and this tool helps our team stay on the same page.

CONS

The knowledge trigger features usually dont work too well for my team it might be a temporary issue but we never seem to use the feature anyway.

Game changing for us

PROS

We LOVE Guru. It has changed the way we think about knowledge management. We've found so many ways to use it and are loving all of the updates that have come down the pipeline over the last year. The AI integration is HUGE. Our employees can ask a question and Guru answers the question and cites our sources. Love it!!

CONS

This is not what Guru is meant to do, but we wish we could customize the public facing cards a bit more.

The platform that simplifies our work.

I have positive overall experience with GURU. For me this platform really helps me with my task as a travel consultant. I need to follow guidelines and policies for every concern of our clients. Guru smoothly provide those information.

PROS

What I like most in Guru is very easy to use and very user-friendly. I just search keyword of the travel policy or process that I need to know then it will generate the related articles promptly. This tool really helps me as guide to my everyday task to make sure that I followed every step of the process as a customer service representatve

CONS

The update on the information cards, so sometime the information are not update.
