The best to-do list

The possibility of sharing the to-do list makes it possible to use as a collaboration tool. It is much more smooth and convenient than old behemoths like Jira.

PROS

That it lets me quickly create (using keyboard shortcuts) structured action lists for me and people I work with

CONS

It would be nice if subtasks were more easily seen in the mobile app

Reason for choosing GQueues

Better keyboard shortcuts

Reasons for switching to GQueues

More features, in particular setting reminders on tasks

GQueues is a great option, but limited.

GQueues is a task/productivity software and like most people with ADD, I'm constantly looking for a tool that will help me organize and stay on task. You can use tags and subtasks to organize and sort, along with due dates, notes, etc. There's also collaboration options to set up teams, but I didn't use that part because I'm a team of one. The format is a list with indented subtasks and you can filter tasks as well as the info displayed pretty easily, but the view is always the same, so if you want a grid, kanban, tile or other sort of view, this is not the one. It integrates well with gmail and google calendar, but you have to pay for the calendar option. It's $25 a year, which isn't too bad. I paid for it for 2 years, but found I used it less and less over time because - like some other task software I have used - it's pretty limited in what it can do.

PROS

I liked how easy it is to use. It's very straightforward and the light version is free. If you just need a list keeper for tasks, this is a great option with lots of sorting and filing. Adding multiple tasks was also easy with their quick add option. I primarily used this to keep track of production items I needed to do for my business.

CONS

I flip flop back and forth between software that does one thing well and software that does multiple things but maybe lacks some flexibility on certain tasks. Ultimately, I started using other tools more and more because they could do more things, but that doesn't mean that GQueues isn't excellent at what it does. It's also cheaper than my current option, but the limitations ended up making it redundant for me and if I don't consistently use it, I have to lose it.

Reason for choosing GQueues

I've tried dozens (and continue to) of various productivity options. At the time, I liked the interface and simplicity of GQueues. I still do. It's great for tasks with several steps and tiers that you can easily organize and have it laid out for you. It's definitely worth a look and the Lite version has most features and works well.

Reasons for switching to GQueues

I wanted to try something new and I liked how simple this one was.

Great task scheduling App!

PROS

It is simple and ease of use. Performance is also good and many sub-tasks can be created. Smart Queues feature is also good.

CONS

I don't see the completed tasks list. When I click the check-box beside the task, it is marked as completed and disappeared. I want to review later which tasks I have completed, but I don't know where to find the completed tasks list.

Vendor Response

Thanks for the feedback, Aung! You can view completed tasks by clicking on the "Archived" button. GQueues Brought our Farm into the 21st Century

We're using GQueues on our small sod farm. We chose it as a solution to move our daily customer order schedule from a paper clipboard to online so that multiple people could access it, review and make changes if necessary. Once we had that part implemented, it quickly became apparent how it would improve our work flow in other areas of our farm. No more forgotten tasks that need to be done quarterly, no more having to track employees down to see if something had been done, or when. Everything is at our fingertips with GQueues.

PROS

We absolutely love the ease of task management with GQs. We're able to quickly enter projects, assign tasks and maintain our schedule for a business that is constantly changing. Everyone can include notes and updates to keep everyone on the same page. Every day we're learning a new way we can implement this product to improve our work flow.

CONS

I would love to see an automation feature that would allow us to mark a task complete, and move it to another folder automatically. But right now, our process is still working beautifully as is manually moving tasks around.

Reason for choosing GQueues

The price was outstanding compared to other similar task/project management tools. We're a small farm, working with a tight budget, and this gives us amazing functionality at a price that cannot be beat.

The best way to keep track of your tasks and lists.

I have been using GQueues for nearly as long as it has existed and the platform solved all my needs for client/job tracking, keeping historical completed tasks and simple life lists. I have lists for everything. I currently have 35 queues and counting.

PROS

I love the simplicity and simultaneous powerfulness of the GQueues platform. From grocery lists to vehicle maintenance to full client projects it fills all my needs. I use it all day every day in every facet of my life.

CONS

Nothing comes to mind. Does more than I expected and the continued improvements are appreciated.

Reason for choosing GQueues

It does the most in a simple platform for a reasonable cost.

Reasons for switching to GQueues

Google tasks was not robust enough for my needs and when I found GQueues it solved all my problems with keeping track of my business and my life.

Love GQueues!

PROS

GQueues is very easy to use - whether I open it directly or want to add something directly from a website. Regular as well as recurring reminders are super easy, as well as categorizing my tasks.

CONS

I wish there was a way to prioritize all of my tasks across the different categories.

Reasons for switching to GQueues

GQueues is MUCH easier to use, categorize my tasks, and reminders are great as well!

Vendor Response

Thanks for that feedback Joseph! There actually is a way to prioritize work across different categories: Smart Queues. You can set criteria and filter for tasks from anywhere in your account, then use that to prioritize your tasks. What I love most about GQueues is that it is the missing piece between all my other google apps by way of increasing productivity and keeping me organised.Perfect task and project management system that integrates seamlessly with my calendar, and smooth to use on the fly with my mobile.

CONS

Not sure I have a dislike? It does everything I need and a little bit more - be nice to brand it though! :)

Reason for choosing GQueues

GQueues is Fantastic

[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is on it when things aren't working correctly, but I only need his support once every blue moon. The videos are easy to follow, and making my GTD system was a breeze.

PROS

Love the integration into Google Calendar and GMail. Makes it easy to mold into a GTD system that works on a variety of different levels. Love it!

CONS

Once every 3-4 months, if it's a pinned tab, it may not load correctly. You just have to unpin, close, and re-open after clearing the cache. Simple fix. Also, the dragging and dropping / nesting of multiple tasks can be clunky at times.

Reason for choosing GQueues

Better integration into Google system, amazingly intuitive, low learning curve for my staff.

GQueues keeps me accountable and reliable to my client deadlines

Thoroughly happy with the functionality for the price. It's a great value.

PROS

Since I'm a long-time Google Calendar user, GQueues is a natural progression and a tremendous upgrade to my workflow and processes.

CONS

I would really love a timeline view where I can see upcoming tasks in the visual representation of a timeline. While I can see items in my calendar, I'm a VERY heavy calendar user, so it can appear a little bit "busy." A timeline view would help me focus on what is coming up next over hours, days, or weeks, as desired.

Reasons for switching to GQueues

I still use 17Hats for onboarding clients with quotes and contracts, but the flexibility with GQueues task options is superior to 17Hats, in my opinion.

Wish I'd Found It Sooner!

I'm solving my prioritization issues with GQueues. The ability to create color-coded calendars linked to task lists for each of my clients is awesome. The real value comes from being able to look at All Tasks in a smart queue and really see what's on my plate and schedule my next actions appropriately. I can actually see where I have space, where I don't, and which clients are taking the most time. I can also see which projects get pushed.

PROS

What I love most about GQueues is its integration with Google Calendar. It's interactive and updates in real-time, not eventually, but in real-time. This is priceless to me. My day is constantly shifting with updates and new appointments popping up. With GQueues I'm able to update my list, reassign tasks, and update timelines right on my Google Calendar without changing tabs. I can mark my tasks completed right on the calendar too. I get the same flexibility with creating new tasks from my Gmail as well.

CONS

I love the Smart Queues, but I wish there was a little more customization available to create quick/smart queues. I'd love to be able to see the next steps in my whole account without having the next steps for each queue.

Reasons for switching to GQueues

Toggl would show what's on my plate for the day, but didn't show the length of time each task would take the visual lost value. It also took 8 hours or more to update my Google Calendar and was static. I enjoyed the ability to switch between boards and calendars, but to reschedule a task time I had to open each task. The weekly view showed only that I had tasks assigned, not how long that task might take, so a 30 min task appeared to take the same time as a 4 hour task. Updating my to-do list to actual took hours rather than minutes.

Simply the best to-do list software there is.

GQueues syncs perfectly between my Chrome Browser and my phone. I can 'dump' thoughts, ideas, notes, links etc into it and sort them out later. It is fully integrated with Google so I can turn emails into to-do items, drop reminders into my calendar and link to files in Google Drive. Recently I found I can add to-do lists to my phone desktop so I don't even have to go into the app when using my phone. I have used loads of to-do list managers over the years but I keep coming back to this one as it literally does everything with the minimum of fuss.

PROS

Deep integration with Google Apps. Really easy to use. Works on my phone and my desktop. Best GTD software I have ever used.

CONS

Genuinely, no complaints. I can think of no cons for this software at all.

Reason for choosing GQueues

It is so well integrated into Google Apps. It's very simple and as a result, can be structured to suit my own personal workflow.

Reasons for switching to GQueues

GQueues is so easy to use and really well integrated into Google Apps such as the Chrome Browser, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive.

PROS

The right mix of features -- not too heavy, not too light.

CONS

I like it all -- maybe I would like Shift-Enter to be able to add another task

Vendor Response

Thanks for that feedback Robert! While you can't Shift-Enter to add another task, we do have other keyboard shortcuts for creating tasks. For example, while you're in a task title, you can hit Tab to start entering a new task right below it. Or if you've already exited the title, press i to insert another task below the current one. GQueues... simply the best task management app for truly busy people.

I have to say that GQueues is by far the best task management tool I’ve ever used. And I’ve tried them ALL over the last 2 years. The eye-watering depth of proper features, several available nowhere else, make it great for individuals or teams. Now that it integrates into Google Workspace as well, nothing can touch it, with a low price point that everyone can afford. The bottom line is GQueues makes my business easier and better.

PROS

The quick onboarding and the solid depth of features.

CONS

PROS

I was an outlook user many years ago, I switched to Google Apps as it was called back then because it was cloud-based. The big piece that was missing from G Suites was a task manager, well GQueues has filled that void

CONS

Super easy to use tool just in time for the WFH era

PROS

Very intuitive tool that we barely need onboarding training. Love the full integration with Google Suite. For our team that needs to suddenly switch to Work From Home since beginning of February, it helps keep all of us on the same page and track progress when we aren't physically next to each other. Price is friendly to us small enterprises too.

CONS

It's hard to drag and drop task/subtask to exactly where you want. Especially when I want to put a subtask right underneath the task, very often the subtask 'slips away' to either the end of the queue or somewhere else. End up I have to move every other subtask underneath it to bump it to the top.

Reason for choosing GQueues

Love that it has Google calendar live update, which most other tools don't have. It has app version for iOS and Android - good for when we have to be on the go.
