About Square Shifts

Square Shifts is an employee scheduling software suitable for business across various industries, such as food and beverage, retail, beauty salons, and others. The software provides features for shift scheduling and publishing, time-off requests, online time tracking, labor-cost reporting, and more. Employees can use the Square Team mobile app or Square POS registers to clock in/out of shifts, which will automatically generate timecards in Square Shifts. To help simplify payroll, timecards can be synced with Square Payroll or exported to third-party payroll providers.

Scheduling for Small Business

Positive. Square offers so many products and they all integrate together well. Making it pretty easy.

PROS

Easy to use and integrates with all of the other products that square offers.

CONS

Our employees sometimes have issues clocking in using the app. But they are easily able to edit.

All in one application to handle scheduling to payroll

Overall I’ve had a positive experience with Swuare Shifts.

PROS

I enjoy having my employees having an all in one application for time keeping, scheduling, and it rolls into payroll. It was really easy to implement for our team and super intuitive.

CONS

I wish there were ways for me to handle scheduling through an app like employees can manage their time keeping.

Square Shifts for Cafe Use

Positive. It’s the right choice for us since we’re already using all of square’s other products.

PROS

The integration with Square’s stack of POS, Payroll, Reporting and shifts makes it the easy decision for us. It’s relatively cheap and has all of the features we need.

CONS

I wish that creating the physical schedule was easier. Possibly a shift copy feature so I could copy a shift and give it to another employee. Or something that was a little more mobile friendly. Wish employees were able to request off for half days instead of only full days.

Overall I’m happy with the product

PROS

It is easy for our employees to use as they can set their availability, enter time off, pick up shifts, and clock in and out all from their phone easily.

CONS

Sometimes customer support is not the best and from an admin side it is not easy to access some items unless you search it in the search tab.
