I couldn’t find any POS that had a feature for helping on consignments, or at least a good one, but I love their money back gaurentee and do deliver on their confident promise. There’s so much money in consignment so this was worth every penny! It gets so hard to keep tracking who got what, and who paid how much, ESPECIALLY in the holiday season. This was a miracle literally.

Cons

They are really good at what they do which is tracking customers purchases and payments on consignements, but everything else is perhaps not as perfect or refined but still decent so it’s expected that tracking consignments are their specialty and expertise.

I wouldn't buy this again. The ease off use was great - easy to train employees, but if you try to move, change your name, or transfer the asset that is the software, you can't. You buy their program and you don't actually own anything... I took my business elsewhere.

Pros

Ease of use. Easy to train employees - and that's about all I can say in the pro column, the Cons far outweigh the pro, at least for me.

Cons

Beware if you try to transfer your store to anyone else - and don't rename your store or move. You'll be stuck with the software, it's not an asset of your business, and Visual Horizons laughs all the way to the bank when they force more people into the dead end that is their software.

Laura was a very happy ConsignPro customer for the six months she had her store. Unfortunately, she ended up closing her store and wanted to resell ConsignPro on eBay. We reminded her that our software (as with most POS software) could not be resold and that she agreed to that limitation when she installed the software. It was also printed clearly on her receipt. I would recommend ConsignPro to anyone! While no software is perfect, this product meets the needs of our store.

Pros

ConsignPro is easy to use and "store friendly." It is an intuitive type software, in that I can easily move around in the system without constantly wondering where to go next. It also comes with a wonderful manual that will help in case I get stuck.

Cons

It only integrates with two credit card services, so we have to add an extra step in the sale process when using our local financial institution. The customer service was slow to respond at first.

The dashboard screen of this software is very easy to understand, and well laid out. Limitations with the printing of tags, as well as full reports make it difficult for me to recommend this product. It is not too expensive, so if you are a startup consignment shop, you may want to consider this program, but it just has limitations that would make it more difficult to show mark-downs, print a full inventory, and keep track of vendors. Easy is a great selling point, but "simple" for our shop is not.

Pros

Ease of use. Well laid out "home screen" to take one to all parts of the software.

Cons

It is too simple. Needs more print options.

Advice to Others

A good value for the price, but not what our shop needed in the end.

ConsignPro doesn't let you save lots of reports like the accounts activities and the sales payout summaries, it's always you have to print it and then have to scan it in order to have saved it on your computer, it's not a paperless friendly software.

This was so easy to learn and use. At first glance I thought it would take a while for me to figure this all out but once I started using it and exploring I realized how easy it was to use. It is so helpful when it comes to reports as well! I was using an outdated excel sheet for all my reporting but this has saved me hours on reporting!!! I honestly can say this is probably one of the smartest purchases I have made in years!!

I have been using this program for 6 years. I sell both new and used items. I love the screen and the ease of use the best. When you are teaching the program to your employees, the ease of use and the clarity of the screen set up are wonderful tools.

Inventory control is the reason why I must hunt for another POS resource for my business. As I stated above I have sonsignment but it is 20% of my business the rest is new. Inventory control, with many of one item, is not a strong feature in the software nor is tracking the items with beginning quantity in mind. Also, selling the same item several times in one sale as quantities does not exist on the sale page. If they improved these areas they would be a strong player for us multi product businesses as their screen layout is awesome.

Recommendations

This is a great program for new consignors and consignors whom are strictly consigning, without adding any new multi item inventory to their product mix.

I like that they offer a payment plan, especially being a first time business owner. Generally, I'm happy with the inventory management and the reports that are offered. I definitely like the integration of Team Viewer when needing assistance.

In comparison with another software program I've used, it does seem like some things are lacking for me. Having more options for reports would be better, such as a report on the most profitable days of the week. Being able to search by first name would be helpful (for consignor's accounts). My biggest complaint would be general error messages that pop up randomly when trying to access certain consignor accounts and not being able to remove items from a large sale without having to re-do the entire sale. Each time I've tried where it's had multiple pages, it won't let me switch to other pages (if items have been removed from the sale).

Recommendations

This option is great for a start-up business and someone new to consignment software.

I'm really glad we operated a couple of months without a POS system because it really helped us identify the functionality we needed. There are several products on the market, with some offering many more features than we needed (but more expensive) and some that were cheaper but didn't give us what we needed. You must demo several systems and pick the one that has the price point you need as well as the functionality you require.

We are a small resale shop in central Kentucky. Although consignment makes up only a small portion of our inventory, this system has worked very well for us. Currently, we are using it in only one section of the store, but it is working remarkably smooth with very little adaptation necessary. The vendor has been in contact, but as yet, we have not had to contact them with questions or problems. The biggest issue we had was configuring the printer. It was a tad frustrating, but not really a major problem in the scheme of things.

So far, there isn't really a least. If I had to pinpoint one, I'd love it if all of the fields could have adjustable headings. And it would be nice to be able to sell something for $0 (we sometimes have a BOGO sale). But there are easy ways around most of the issues.

Recommendations

Simply put, use the 30 day trial. That is what sold it for me. The vendor was available, but not pushy so as to be annoying.

I have been doing this for a long time and have never come across a software system that is so user friendly and a staff that bends over backwards to help. I would recommend this software to ANYONE that want to make their life a whole lot easier. In fact, Customer support is the bomb! I don't think there is anything he couldn't do to tailor this software to your needs.

I do not have one negative thing to say about consign pro. I love, love, love this software. I have seen others and this is in my opinion the best and easiest out there. Some folks are not computer savvy, well you don't have to be to it really easy to use. They will walk you thru anything you do not understand.

Pros

The Software is very user friendly. Even a child can use this product. When I say a child can use this I don't mean that it is not a powerful tool for your business. It keeps track of all my consigners, we have over 4 thousand active consigners. Without this tool this would be a lot of paperwork to keep track of. The best tool we own this is defiantly the hub of our shop. The support Is super fast, I have talked with on the customer rep whenever I have a problem, which is not often most problems are due to a storm or just human error. They are always available on the spot to get me up and running.

We also sell a lot of locally made items and new items that we order in, and the system is versatile enough to handle everything we throw at it. I looked at several other kinds of software before deciding on this one, and I'm so glad I went with Consignpro.

About the only thing I can think of that I wouldn't mind added is if you could see some of the last items as you were entering them. When you're entering secondhand items in one by one, it's fine, but when you're entering in dozens of new items as we do, you can develop tunnel vision and forget where in the order you are. Also, I wish myresaleweb was a little more modernized.

ConsignPro is an excellent program for anyone in the resale business who handles items on consignment. This software helps to keep track of consignors, inventory, invoices, sales, and to do reports as well as returns. It also has an employee database option, though I personally do not use that feature. This software would be ideal for both retail storefronts as well as online consignment shops - both big and small businesses. My resale business is an at home venture, but I would be lost without this program as it helps me keep everything organized and to keep track of my clients and their merchandise. I highly recommend this software to anyone involved in secondhand sales.

Consign Pro for the most part is by far the best consignment POS software you can find. We have used Consign Pro for about 7 years. We started with just a couple hundred consignors and now we have more than 10000! The software and updates have kept up with the growth of our company. There are parts of the software that could be better as with any software. Most of the things are just personal preference on how we would want it to work, not really a problem with the software.
One great thing I want to be sure to mention is the tech support. They are very quick and always can fix any problem within minutes.
I would recommend this software to any consignment store looking for a POS solution.

The software is pretty much an all in one solution to run a consignment store.

Cons

I wish customizing and exporting reports was a little easier.

Advice to Others

Familiarize yourself with all areas of the software and you will have no problems.

I have almost 8,000 consignors and have been opened for over 6 years. I have used ConsignPro since the very beginning. Not only is the software up-to-date and reliable but the ease of the system and the friendliness of the staff make it the best software to have!

Pros

- Myresaleweb.com online login for consignors.
- All of the different reports available.
- The ease of adding items into the system and the option to mark as consigned, store-owned or vendor!

Cons

I wish there was an advanced option on the Consignor Account Activity Since Last Payout. We have a lot of consignor's that want printed detailed reports of their activity since their last payout but this option doesn't show as much detail as the consignors want. We have to print their entire item history report, which can turn into a lot of paperwork.
