Transact
We use Transact to take online payments and in person cashiering payments. They have extremely helped us in terms of managing compliance and processing payments. Their reports are customizable and provide us with all necessary data.
PROSThe product is easy for students to use and staff to find transactions and pull reports. I was not employed here for the entire initial integration, however, the part I participated in and subsequent additions went smoothly. Transact was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in walking us through and moving the integration along. They assisted with all questions and roadblocks we ran into.
CONSWe have a legacy (homegrown) system so it has been extremely difficult to integrate with most products. Any hiccups we had Transact was able to find a way for their system to integrate with ours or put in extra effort to try to trouble shoot with us. We do not have any complaints regarding our partnership with Transact.

It's works, but just barely...
There's a tiny bit of hope, that if you can use this software in the *simplest* scenario possible with old equipment, that you might have a great experience with CashNet. The front end users like this much more than our previous software--that is, when it's not errorring out and causing them to do the "three daily reboots"... it's a thing.
PROSThe support personnel are the best thing about this company. But that's not saying much, there's just a lot of other things to dislike more.
CONSThe best way I can summarize this product's biggest shortcoming, is to give an example. There is a part of the setup where it asks you to insert the driver software disk into the A:\. I could go on and on about how "bolt-on" (to literally decades old fundamental code)...

Higher Education Review
Billing by email rather than mail, acceptance of credit card payments easy import into our legacy system.
CONSWe did not implement real time due to difficulty of setup (legacy system) and cost.
Reasons for switching to Integrated Payments
Our current process for late fees for student billing was a state issue. We did not previously accept credit card payments but now, since we can push the processing fee back to the student/parents, we are able to accept tuition payments. Tremendously helped cash flow, accounts receivable balances

Our Reliable Deposit Channel
We use the Common Application for all of our undergraduate student applications and thus also use CashNet to handle our deposits. Whenever there has been an issue, which is rare, CashNet support is quick to fix the issue. They also are very proactive in making us aware of when there will be an outage and when that outage is complete. It's nice to have something reliable and autonomous in such a tumultuous professional setting.
CONSI can't say there's anything I dislike. I'm not our Administrator for this software, so I can't speak on ease of configurations or communicating when we want to stop taking deposits, but I've only ever heard good things from our Bursar's office.
