Overall good experience for the free tier Tolgee is providing for my usecase.

Easy of setting up translations for multi-languages and automatic machine translated texts.

Features specific to ARB extension and singular/plural translation is missing.

The easy to use multilanguage support and easy integration with next.js and SSR nextjs is amazing

The pricing was a bit too much, if someone wants a real app with multiple language support the limited free tier can be exceeded easily, and not everyone want to pay for localization when the app does not make any revenue

I like the most that it integrates with many different solutions and frameworks, and that it's open source and can be self-hosted

Sometimes the UI feels laggy, and cumbersome

It's crafted with love, it has some "definition gaps" and uncovered edge cases but it's easy to find workarounds for all of them.

Their in browser integration makes it super easy to change texts and add translations. Period.

there is nothing to dislike tbh.What I would love though is to automatically translate all strings once a new language is selected. Its a bit tedious to go through each and every string to add the new translations. If this is possible I was not able to find the option. the in browser editing did not reliably work in "non-text" mode in my react/nextjs setup. When I switched to "text" all worked perfectly.

We've actively used Tolgee for a few months and are happy with the tool. I've been the most active user on our team, overseeing all translations and personally working on the Russian localisation. As for suggestions, I would benefit from being able to search across all projects because sometimes we have to locate a key or a phrase and it's not clear which project(s) it can be found in.

The interface is very simple and to-the-point. It's easy to navigate around the platform and oversee the progress across the projects. Machine translations are great and as correct as you could expect them to be. The translation memory functionality comes in handy for keeping the translations consistent and quickly translating repeating keys. Filtering and tags work great and allow us to quickly locate new and missing keys.

So far there's only one thing that is slightly annoying - the error messages that sometimes pop up during active use. However, it's easy to click out of those and they usually don't crash anything.

I enjoyed using the plateform for translation purpose, mainly back translation.

I like the fact that Tolgee is free if you decide to self-host it and the guides to make it happen are very detailed. The user interface is intuitive and minimal and this makes it very efficient. The machine translation (configured with our API key) was gold for our translator as it reduced drastically the time spend on single translation.

We had a bug that sometimes crashed the connection between the app and the database and it was kind difficult to identify it. But once we understood the problem and talk with support, they released a new version that fixed the bug.

It has been so pleasant so far, whatever it promises it delivered so I have no complaints so far.

We really like text editing and in context translating, I think it's a great way to add non technical teams to localization processes. I did the implementation myself and it was really easy too, even though I'm mostly working with backend technologies I easily manage to do Toggle implementation. Also, documentation is really good too.

I don't really have any dislikes, maybe a little bit more examples could be good.

The translation is very easy and very fast. It is a real gain of time.

The integration is pretty easy because we didn't have any other software which was doing the same thing, we would just translate everything manually which was pretty long. What I like the most is the automated translation which is very accurate and help me translate everything in a very short period of time. The collaboration in team is also very easy.

The product is already really good but if I had an advice of improvement, I would use some machine learning to add a percentage of accuracy of the translation using the data of people who changed the automated translation with something else.

Great product, available for self hosting.

When choosing our internal localization platform we had 2 main criteria: open-source and support for standard localization formats (XLIFF). Tolgee covers both of them well and also offer great tech/customer support on their Slack channel.

As we decided to self host the product and further extend it with custom functionalities, we had just a little bit of hard time building the code on Windows environment. But the support from Tolgee was great.

Does the job but needs user experience improvements

The overall basic flow is easy to follow, and it provides suggestions for translations so that you don't have to write them yourself

That I cannot see where the text is located, and the web navigator extension is not easy to use.

7/10 i my score on the product. Looking forward to improvement to come.

Easy to use for non-tech people, and hassle free

translation to scandinavian languages could be better

Easy of use, organization and collaboration between teams. API Integrations, activity report although I'd like it to be a separate option so it has more details and filters to see who did what and when instead of scrolling down.

In cases where self-hosting is not used, the prices seem a bit high.

I like that is really great for using it for a team at the same time, it syncs, and also that keeps good track of status changes, plus the search is great either with tags or something specific. And is really great when you are working in different teams, you can compare with what other teams did.

sometimes I required to doble click the validation button because the status rolledback to previous status, it might be internet connection issue, but I think it wasn't that.

Overall positive, but I wish the authors had taken the performance more seriously

I would have love to ''put in favorite'' or tags someone (a member). My workaround was to use the tag with the name of the person so she could review just those translation.
