It is maintained by a community of programmers that are very helpful in keeping it working and up to date. It has a wide range of transitions, and even has an add on for Firefox.

This is the most awesome piece of software for videos editing. I just install it to a VM and use the app to convert/create/edit video using its api.

OpenShot is both a SIMPLE and POWERFUL video editing software with the ability to produce great videos.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it seems to take a lot of time to get an edit right. You can end up being your own worst critic when editing video.

I wish there was a more in depth tutorial within the software but they do have an active reddit community where you can ask questions or just browse to get tips for projects.

The software was easy to install and did not include bundleware. It is easy to use and navigate as it does not offer as many options as some of the bigger products that come with a hefty price tag.
