I switched my music school to opus1 and grew by 55% in the first year.

Fantastic. The migration was so smooth and seamless. The team over there offered amazing support and infrastructure to allow us to begin operating fast.

PROS

It has given us a system to push growth while minimizing administrative demands. As a business owner it gave me the confidence to scale and add new services, knowing we had the operational system to handle the growth. Growing by 55% in 2023 would not have been possible if not for Opus1. I love using it and it's simplified and solved all of the admin headaches I used to endure. I doubles my team end of 2022 and that process exposed the failing systems we had. The transition to opus1 solved it all and I'm so pumped about it still. I also love all the metrics and financial dash boarding so I can keep track of the pulse of the business.

CONS

Group class segmentation could be improved a bit but it's a small point. The pros are so outrageously high that it doesn't really matter too much.

Reason for choosing Opus1.io

It was the clearly superior and modern product. Hands down. Teacherzone seemed out of date and over saturated with unnecessary features.

Reasons for switching to Opus1.io

Acuity had really limited options for membership and subscription scheduling. Their system was not set up to work for music schools. We also had so many spreadsheets necessary to manage the admin build up with Acuity. All that's gone now with Opus1.

Opus keeps improving with time!

Like I said above, they listen to their users and accommodate. Opus has only gotten better with time!

PROS

I love the support they give us, the automation you can set up and the fact that they are constantly improving their program every month. Things that used to be "I wish Opus could..." have come true as their developments continue to turn out.

CONS

This is my second review because I have been impressed with how well Opus listens to their customer needs makes the necessary developments for their users. Even with the things that "I wish Opus could do" I feel confident that if I voice my "wishes", they will be taken into consideration along with everyone else's and the improvements will eventually come.

My Music Staff did not have the automation and tracking that Opus has.

Why Opus1.io works well for our organization

Really enjoying it, and find it useful to manage many aspects of operations.

PROS

It is a multifaceted and the ability to communicate with families through the same tool is important to help achieve excellent customer service.

CONS

There are glitches like there would be in any program. Items like online attendance not being marked after taking batch attendance. If two appointments are being booked for the same time slot, and they are within a few minutes of each other, a double booking happens.

Opus 1 is a Game Changer For My Performing Arts Academy

PROS

Opus 1 has a robust set of features for running day to day operations pretty much as smoothly as one could want. Their chat customer service is 2nd to none! Implementing Opus 1, with its built in automation features, ease of use, and customer convenience has contributed to enrollment growth and student retention at our studio. I HIGHLY recommend!

CONS

Reporting features are not well thought through or intuitively implemented. Custom reports, which I would use almost daily, are mostly non-existent. Opus 1 has been making improvements over time, but reporting is still quite lacking. The Opus 1 knowledge base is also extremely lacking. It's very difficult to search and find answers for specific questions. However, as mentioned above, their chat service is extraordinary.

I need a more robust, and scalable platform, with automation to grow and run my Academy.

Perfect for Large & Growing Studios - By FAR the BEST software we've experienced!

I wish we would have found Opus1 sooner! This software has been a lifesaver for our studio and helped us take our studio to the next level. Our team can count on the software to do the leg work so that we can focus on the studio/student experience that our brand is known for. Our booking headaches are gone! We look forward to working with Opus1 for years to come.

PROS

- Automations are a GAME CHANGER. Our team used to spend hours on manual follow ups on trials and lessons. No more! Opus1 automates the hardest parts of our day to day tasks, freeing us up to enhance our customer experience. - Reporting is Robust! I love the ability to drill down to specifics, and Opus1 reporting allows me to easily get into the nitty gritty that numbers geeks enjoy. - Customer Service is NEXT LEVEL AWESOME! We were with another well known software prior to moving to Opus1 and for 7 years they refused to listen to our needs and even attempt to understand why/how their software missed the mark, they just didn't care, to the point that it would often take a month to even get a response from them. :( Opus1 is there for you in an instant! They listen to us, ask for the use case, and work WITH US to develop workarounds to get us what we need if its not already there and/or actively make plans to help implement the feature you need. - Self-Booking Portal. While most booking softwares have a self-booking option, they don't have the booking optimization that Opus1 offers. This helps ensure that our teacher's schedules are without gaps/breaks between students. The Self-booking Portal also gives us an active calendar view for all prospective students coming in.

CONS

- Sales Tax Reporting is terrible...but THEY ACTIVELY ARE WORKING ON IT! - Calendar missing a horizontal scroll bar.

Reason for choosing Opus1.io

Opus1 automations ultimately were the main reason we selected it. While it also allows us to customize the end user experience, the opportunity to reduce time on manual follows and such was the key reason we made the switch.

Reasons for switching to Opus1.io

MyMusicStaff has the WORST customer service ever and is truly built for smaller studios. We outgrew its capabilities and were tiresome of the amount of manual work we had to do to run a successful studio. JackRabbit is sooooo close to being a really terrific software but the reality is, it's not a software for private lessons and using it as such is cumbersome.

Opus1 Beats Out All the Other Software Programs (and I've tried almost all of them)

I've already described what I like about the software features quite a bit in this review, so now I'll take a moment to describe my experience with customer service. I will say, without exaggerating, that I have never experienced better customer service with ANY company I have come across in my business, much less a software company. There is always someone available, there are several ways to reach out, they're super quick to respond, and they always help and solve any problems immediately. They are also very supportive when it comes to converting over to their software and getting everything set up. No matter what software you switch to, the conversion will always be a process and there will always be a learning curve. We have performed several conversions throughout the course of our business lifetime, and none has been smoother than with Opus1.

PROS

For me the most important things in a software are 1) does it have all the features I need 2) are those features customizable and 3) does everything work well. Opus1 crushes it on all of those fronts. It has all the bells and whistles, it's easy to modify everything to our needs, and it works flawlessly, very quickly, and in an intuitive/user-friendly way. Hard to beat.

CONS

We've been with Opus1 for nearly three years now, and they have come out with a lot of new features since we jumped on board. Anything we needed since we started with them has been added by now, and we really struggle to think of anything else that we need or could be improved at this point.

Reason for choosing Opus1.io

Opus1 had all the features I wanted and a bunch that seemed like they would be really helpful (including a built-in SMS system with our own number and a kickass recital registration feature). I interviewed a lot of music school owners who had switched over and the story was the same across the board - best decision they'd ever made. I had done all my research by the time I met with Opus1 for a demo, and then I was totally sold hook-line-and-sinker and I've never looked back. Best decision ever.

Reasons for switching to Opus1.io

Wellness Living was really bad. We struggled with them during the 4+ years we were with them, and knew for a while that we needed to switch to something else. My school had over 2,000 students by this point, and so I spent a lot of time researching every option I could find. Opus1 came out the clear winner and I plan to never switch again!!

Opus1 is the best choice for managing a Music School

It was a big price jump for us from the previous provider, but you have to see it as an investment and not an expense and see the big picture, aka focus on the long term goals. In the end it was well worth it! Some of the features were missing from the tech stack, but Opus1 team listens to their customer needs and prioritizes development in a fast and efficient manner.

Top tier quality

We used to use a conglomeration of software to much less efficiently so what Opus1 does on its own. Our processes are much more streamlined and automated now.

PROS

Opus1 isn’t the cheapest software for CRM and scheduling, but it is the best we have found and the customer service is second to absolutely none. The team works with you to fulfill the specific needs of your business.

CONS

We wish there was unlimited texting as a premium feature. As it is there are SMS limits.

It has been great. The software is fantastic. The customer service is extremely responsive and helpful and new feature are being added all the time.

PROS

The software is very intuitive and easy to use. Multiple people can sign in and access and tracking of lessons, schedule, pay and students is great.

CONS

Booking online can be a little tricky with a lot of classes. When you need to update a price or payment plan, it can be time consuming to make the change to all the need it if you don't set up services in a way that you can batch.

Opus1.io Has Been Great For My Business!

Fantastic. The staff knows their stuff, and they also understand the needs of a music school. Everyone is also extremely friendly and professional.

PROS

Thank goodness if found Opus1.io! I am now able to do my work so much faster which has allowed me to continue to expand my business without having to hire anyone else.

CONS

There was definitely a learning curve. However, the staff has been excellent in not only training me initially but helping me out if I ever have issues or questions on the chat.

We love Opus!

I love the customer service and the product. Opus is always updating and adding new features to remain the best scheduling service.

PROS

Opus features are easy to use. We can train all our staff quickly because the website is user friendly. There is no room for user error when it comes to billing mistakes with Opus - everything is set up correctly and done well!

CONS

We don't love the group class - Sessions. It is not easy to book make ups within a session or change the schedule like you can with other private lessons.

Opus1.io has been transformative for my music lesson studio.

Use of Opus1.io has been tremendously beneficial for our music studio. I'm able to easily, and comprehensively, manage students, staff, calendar, special events (recital), billing, and reporting from one location.

PROS

Relatively smooth setup. Feature rich. Frequent version upgrades. Customer support is second to none.

CONS

Missing robust email and autoresponder functionality (although I know it's coming).

Big Fan of Opus1

One of my favorite services. They are professional and will walk you through the hardest customer setups.

PROS

I love that they have human customer support via chat almost all the time and that it handles my billing

CONS

Sometimes it can be a bit confusing to change things on, but they offer to help you do it

Our entire music school runs on Opus1.io. It has been a game changer in terms of our ability to scale and provide a great experience for our students at our school. If you're looking to grow beyond a couple teachers and 50 students or so, look no further than Opus1.io

CONS

The product is extremely customizable which can be a but daunting for those who are not tech savvy.
