Craft Is THE BEST Way to Build Complex, Custom Websites
I just built a massive website with Craft and it was a pure joy to work with.
PROSI love everything about Craft. It is easy to setup, easy to structure data, author templates, and shape content the way you want. It is powerful, secure, and backed by a helpful team and robust community. I can't recommend a website building tool more highly than Craft. I've used many and it is simply the best.
CONSLike any CMS, Craft requires you to learn new techniques and tools that can feel foreign at first. This isn't unique among website building software so you have to be patient and give it time.
Reason for choosing Craft
Craft was able to out-perform other competitive products in the space for our site with thousands of section entries.
Reasons for switching to Craft
Statamic stumbled on the thousands of entries we were porting in to the new site. Moving to Craft allowed us to handle these large sections gracefully from the admin panel.

Robust enough for Power Users, Easy for Beginners
Overall, our organization has been very pleased using the Craft CMS tool to power several different websites. It is robust enough that our developers/agency and easily create new modules and accommodate our requests, but easy enough that several entry-level administrators can update the content of the site and make simple changes.
PROSThe administrative tools used to change website content, add modules, and update pages are very user-friendly and it takes little training for a new administrator to learn. I also especially appreciate the Preview Feature which allows you to see your web page but then real-time edit it using the side panels.
CONSThe search function for finding certain pages could be a little more robust. As it stands, it searches within certain types of pages (like entries, single pages, unpublished pages, etc.) but I wish there was a way to search from all categories at once and to be able to search content on the page, not just the title.
Reasons for switching to Craft
We made the switch to Craft when we brought a new agency on board who was more versed in Craft and could show us the easier user interface.

Flexible Solution for Complex Needs
Our experience was excellent. We were able to build out a custom platform to house all of our data and benefit from the CMS features inherent to Craft.
PROSWe needed to build out an event management platform to suit our custom needs and were able to use Craft for a variety of functionality and it met nearly all of our needs.
CONSWe had to build out a custom admin layer as the current admin layer was not customizable. Member management could also be improved, there are some kinks in permissions and viewing members that don't always make sense.
Reasons for switching to Craft
Expression Engine did not have the power or features to support our needs

A CMS That Grows On You
Overall, I believe Craft will always be on my short list for content management systems to consider for new projects. Given the ethos with which it was developed (as a purely vanilla CMS) it can be a little quirky for those that come from WP, Drupal or a proprietary platform. But if you can work with a development team that prefers Craft over other platforms, it makes for a great CMS.
PROSCraft is a CMS that feels a little odd at first, but after you reorient yourself it is really easy to navigate. The user interface is clean and everything loads really quickly. And based on what I hear from our developer team, the platform is extremely customizable.
CONSIf you come to Craft from a Wordpress background, you will miss some of the functionality that Craft does not yet offer. In particular I miss bulk editing of posts, as well as the simplicity of just dealing with pages and posts. Craft can be set up in a much more complex way and that obviously makes the user experience more compex.

An OK CMS Option
I like the live preview option as opposed to only being able to edit a website from the back-end, but I've used better.
CONSIt's not the most intuitive CMS to use or learn. It's more geared towards those who understand the back-end programming of websites as opposed to a content/marketing manager who needs to update a website on a regular basis. It can be glitchy sometimes as well. I needed to contact the person who set up the website for us multiple times to fix problems (like form redirect issues, and random code showing up on the site).

Craft has given our company the customization features our website needs.
Craft has given me the ability to make a beautiful website.
PROSI like that every step is very simple and can be altered to fit our companies needs. I have noticed that our technical team has been able to create just about anything with no limits.
CONSI do not like that some of the steps have to been done through HTML. Craft is a site that the Digital Marketing Managers and the Technical Managers share BUT it would be nice to have the choice as to whether or not each landing page is coded or not.

If you care about Content Structure and Beauty HTML code
I used to make website with structured content with ease and I was able to code their frontend with pure HTML / CSS / JS and their implementation of the Twig template engine which is astounding!
PROSCraft is a wonderful platform to structure content for any website, plus it offer a templating system which output the cleaner code I've ever seen. You can code your frontend exactly the way you want! Plus it has a great asset manager built in!
CONSThe weak point of Craft it's its backend aesthetic. But It's based upon my taste. No more to say, you should give it a try!

Extremely powerful tool, brilliant, not for the faint of heart.
In Craft, the world is yours. You can create anything you imagine. The interface is easy to use and to manage. Installation is simple and the documentation is very helpful. And the Pixel & Tonic team is always creating, updating, and innovating.
CONSThe fault here is mine I'm a beginner programmer. For me, the learning curve was steep and I was always having to look up how to do things. I wish there was more learning for beginners, but that's not whom this software was designed for.

A great alternative to Wordpress
Its made editing and designing a website for our clients super easy and helps the client be able to easily make edits too without worrying too much about changing something they should not be.
PROSSuper easy to use and very intuitive. A lot less confusing than wordpress which has too many options
CONSIt could be design visually more appealing and intuitive. Its good now but sometimes i get confused how things are laid out, like when there is a section inside a page of a page. Hard to explain.

Great CMS platform
We launched a new website on Craft and later added on the commerce platform which gave our online presence a much needed lift.
PROSIt's highly customizable and doesn't seem as riddled with security issues as other major CMS platforms out there. Lots of plugin support
CONSI think there is quite a learning curve for implementing customizations if you aren't a web developer.

The best mid-level CMS I've used
Probably my favourite mid-level cms on the market. You need to write templates for everything, so not ideal for very cheap clients, but great for mid level
PROSConfigurable sections/fields allows for much more complex functionality without a long amount of time doing back end dev work
CONSYou need a few additional plugins to really pull things together, but that's nothing new in the tech space

Intuitive & Well-Designed CMS
The platform is extremely easy to use and our clients have had an easy time adapting to updating their website on their own.
CONSThere are a few plugin advancements that we'd like to see for Craft. For example, it would be nice to be able to see which assets uploaded are in use on the site and in which places.
Vendor Response
Hi Courtney, Thanks for the kind words on Craft CMS. I'll make sure our team reviews your Assets feature request too. Cheers, Leslie, Chief Customer Officer

Great for templating websites that marketers can handle without so much effort from developers
This platform is great because it allows marketers to create and publish content with a templatized brand feel without so much pressure on web dev resources to code each page.
PROSEasy to learn, fun to create & launch your own content with ease. Templating is awesome so all your posts have the same brand feel and look.
CONSIt seems labor intensive for web developers to set up templates.

Great if your a notetaker!
I like that you can easily create pages and add a page inside a page. And create a “book” of pages, especially if it’s all one subject, or project. Really a lot better than the old pen and pad.
CONSSo far I really enjoy it, I’m constantly writing things down so I can access everything in one place now.

This Software is pretty cool!
The good outweighs the bad.
PROSI love how you can organize everything neatly. You can create beautiful documents and everything is grouped together.
CONSThe only con would be that it is kinda hard to get the hang of. You really have to dedicate some time to fully grasp every feature and function.

A better version of Wordpress for marketers
Craft is purpose-built for creating great websites that is easy to use.
CONSI wish there were more 'no-coding necessary' elements to creating a great website - it seems that you still need to hire a front-end developer to make it all look good and perform accurately.
