There are two types of buyer membership. Buyer membership is for businesses that only wish to report on their supply chain. Buyer/supplier membership is for organisations that wish to report on their supply chain, and share information with their own customers about their own business practices. For buyer and buyer/supplier members there are two parts to the membership fee: - A one-off set up cost - An annual subscription fee Both of these are determined by annual sales turnover. The set up cost includes training and account management support to help you get the most from your Sedex membership.

ESG made easier
Sedex has helped us to improve a number of suppliers to a level consistent with our company policies and ensure that we have a robust supply chain. The system has been invaluable through the pandemic.
PROSSedex allows us to take a measured approach to our supply chain compliance, ensuring we are aware of potential issues and risk associated across our suppliers. Using the basis of continual improvement, Sedex ensures our energy is concentrated where needed to ensure ethical and social compliance targets are met across the board.
CONSThe original platform is difficult to navigate at first, without regular use finding certain functions can be difficult. As the software has developed a lot of these areas are being resovled, however the requirement to clear cookies and hard refresh is still needed for some menu's to work.
Reason for choosing Sedex
Requirement to meet customer's ethical policy - we joined as instructed but quickly realised the potential the system had for our own ESG systems.

Meets Baseline with Potential for More
Overall, Sedex meets the need for collecting and viewing SMETA audit reports and findings with a potential for further optimization of analysis and tracking.
PROSThis platform offers the unique ability to have a consolidated place to view SMETA audit reports and findings. Sedex is a good organizational tool to collect SMETA audit reports and findings.
CONSThe analysis and tracking functionalities are currently lacking. However, improvements are underway and I look forward to their rollout.

PROSgetting better in terms of user experience
CONSyou need to go to RADAR for some info, reports for other, new platform seem to be pulling them together but for supplier audits still need to switch between old / new platform as not showing same details which is time consuming and duplication of work.
