There are free student licenses which help using course-based materials for teaching software engineering. The interface is intuitive and easy to use.

Not possible to adapt models to other methods (TOGAF, BPMN...). No link between activities & lanes in activity diagrams and other UML components (actors...).

It has already helped me to secure a substantial contract.

Some of the labeling on the different components in the diagram is confusing.

The colorful and easy to create UML diagrams, especially the sequence diagrams, convey detailed information in a very effective way.

My overall experience with Astah has been very good over the years and I will continue to use the tool in coming years.

The last thing that I want to do is to wrestle with the tool as my ideas and thoughts float away.

If you do not need all the functionality of Visio but need to diagram or show flows, it provides the ability to document processes and diagrams in a simple quick and easy manner.

They continually enhance this product to adapt to my needs and I actually have fun doing the designs I need to for workflows to brainstorming.

Gliffy allows you to create great quality graphics and share these easily. The price of the monthly subscription is ok for the amount of content you get.

You have to pay desperately for each integration: e.g. a paid for confluence license won't equate. Visio import has to be paid for.

The limitation on the color customization of the diagrams.

Can be great for first draft for getting ideas in flow chart or diagram to better view process, for development of operations.

I like the way to create minimalistic diagrams with entire icons, so this software allow my creavity.

I like the prompts and menus of the software, they make it easier to use than others, also has a lot of figures so you can easily design any kind of diagrams.

Gliffy is a great platform for quickly creating simple graphics.

It seems very limited to strictly flow charts of process flow diagrams. It's very hard to make other kinds of diagrams or mockups.

I like the fact that it could be used without any install on the cient, just in the Atlassian stack of appliacions.

Allow to host your models and diagrams in the cloud and versioned. User Interface very intuitive -Supports most diagrams and model.

Integrates well with Confluence and makes building ERD documentation a breeze. It's great to document requirements in Confluence, so they can be shared with others easily.

We use it in integration with confluence and is super useful.

Google drive integration is only limited to business team account. Export to Visio format is a headache.

The add library feature is easy to use for adding shapes.

I like the Gliffy is easy to use and integrates well with the rest of the Atlassian stack.

Helps to collaborate and capture feedback online. Pricing is very reasonable in comparison to similar tools available in the market.

For students or occasional users, the free level may well be adequate;  for small organizations, this is far superior in cost/benefit to Visio.

Great for diagramming server connectivity and workflows.

Robust and Scalable UML Architect Drawing Tools Integrations.

The ease of use and quick learning curve make Gliffy a top choice.

Worse than the limits is the performance for larger drawings. Once I've gotten into complex drawing with thousands of objects it gets INCREDIBLY slow.

The ease of use was particularly good. The drag and drop facility meant that diagrams could be completed in seconds.

It is very easy to edit and share diagrams made in Gliffy.

Very easy to use and build a flow chart or diagram of your environment in minutes. Although I have used Dia in the past this software gives more options to migrate data to Jira / Confluence.

Unfortunately there is no way to create bends or customize a shape such as an arrow. Additionally I haven't found a way to integrate the cloud version that my company paid for to JIRA or Confluence.
