Love that they are always upgrading!
What I like most is that they added texting to the candidates as activities so when I am texting someone, it creates an activity that can be read by all. I am mostly loving the new free feature of adding jobs directly to Monster Organic and LinkedIn direct. We've made more placements since using these features.
CONSI don't like that I cannot search older, archived jobs for "job descriptions." Sometimes I want to find an older description and copy it but I have to click job by job, until I can find ones that have descriptions.

We had Top Echelon before but boss wanted to try something different and went to PCRecruiter. ALl the staff went on a virtual strike until we went back to Top Echelon

BigBiller is very good and user friendly
BB is such an upgrade to the FileMaker system we used previously. However, the parsing of jobs is slow and a lot manual cut/paste. And, as mentioned, lack of the audible reminder is a hindrance to my desk, personally. Tech Support is friendly and VERY helpful, particularly [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]! He's my guy!
PROSI love hotlists and pipelines. I run my entire desk around those two on the candidate side of the equation.
CONSSearching legacy candidates using keywords is very kludgy to both my partner and myself. I also used to LOVE that you had the audible sound to remind me of my appointment calls, email blasts, etc.
Reasons for switching to Top Echelon
Filemaker didn't begin to meet our needs, but it was Recession. When we could afford to upgrade, we did.

A Recruiters Best Friend
Top Echelon is one of the absolute best database management tools I have ever used, especially for recruiting. My company has used TE for a decade now, and have not had anything before or since that was as streamlined and convenient.
CONSThe search feature is not absolutely perfect, but unless you want a hyper specific set of search conditions it will have everything you need. I also would love if "Years of Experience" automatically updated every year, so that we could easily check if older candidates now have the necessary experience for higher level positions.

It is what it is for now... It gets us by, but we will have to upgrade soon. I am going to need something that has a complete staffing package that can do my payroll as well, and track all of my HR information.
PROSIt is easy to use, and if you have a small company it is easy to buy into with a low amount of users. The text messaging feature is a game changer. Very helpful.
CONSThe job posting tool does not get applicants. We would get 2-3 people per week. I had to get another subscription with Zip. We try and import as many resumes as possible, but many do not make it through, or the resume doesn't parse. Everything is an add-on with this software. Which can be a benefit as well. When I see my bill at the end of the month I really don't feel that we put $220 into this. I wish my users utilized it more, however they don't have the time for all the importing. I wish there was a way to actually downgrade users. For example, my onsite doesn't enter a thing in this and just sits at a company and makes phone calls. All I would need from her is to enter information, and import resumes if needed.

Things that I love about my ATS
I love the company - they are super helpful from sales, implementation to support. Simply outstanding.
PROSEasy to use, reliable, cost effective. I've used several tools to track candidates and jobs but this is by far the best.
CONSSome automation tasks I have not been able to fully implement yet. I think they are there and I will get to them.

Left the company. They had some features that were better but didn't do many things that Big Biller doest.

PROSThe sw is user friendly and handles everything I need for now. Customer support has been excellent and timely!
CONSThere are still a lot of features that I haven't tried out, so it's hard to say. Perhaps I'd like to have more transparency of the job posting visibility to the market.
Reason for choosing Top Echelon
Turn around time and quality of response from customer service. Ease of use. Crelate seemed good, but probably more than what I really needed and a bit distracting with the many colors, etc.

Effective recruiters identify highly qualified candidates software.
The most common problem I could solve by using Big Biller is that I can combine marketing tools with email. Thanks to this application I can get the essentials for tracking applicants.
PROSWhat I like most about Big Biller is that thanks to the job publication tools it allows me to publish applications on the company's career site, in various industry-specific job sites and on social channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. This seems excellent to me.
CONSOne downside is that Big Biller right now is not compatible with Outlook integration. I hope you can develop this feature because it is very necessary. You can also say that the design is somewhat outdated, I think they should modernize its graphical interface.

My experience with Top Echelon
Originally, we used Big Biller for our own resumes. We started using TE to fill some hard to fill positions, We successfully filled 3 roles, so has more than paid for itself, Customer service is excellent, really nice team running it. Also easy to work with the other recruiters, TEchnically easy to handle
CONSI think you should be able to do a mass email, if you are searching for a job and 300 resumes come up, we should be able to email them all at once.

Differentiators
What I like most is NOT the Software -- it is the Incredible Customer Support!! From my first contact with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], it seems like decades ago, and with every successor to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who has carried the Customer Support torch, they have always had the patience to explain, to clarify my issues for me, and work through solutions to remedy my misapplication of features in the excellent software.
PROSThe software works and works well. I used ACT for about 10 years, then Big Biller for about 10 years, switched to another SAS for about 3 years, and then returned to Big Biller in 2015.
CONSWaiting for more complete integration with GMail.

I came back to Big Biller when I realized that the functionality and flexibility of Big Biller + superb Customer Support were the solution to a lot of my unnecessary and often self-inflicted headaches.

Excellent contact management software that won't break the bank
I couldn't run my business without it. It's a simple way to keep track of 1,000's of candidates.
PROSThis is an easy interface for non-tech experts. Easily keep track of all my candidates (I'm a recruiter) , write notes about every conversation, and use planner to set up future calls. I don't use the search function too often, but it's fine (esp. with some excellent customer service help!).
CONSHonestly I have no reservations except maybe making the search function better for me, i.e. I'd like to be able to search any word in my notes about each conversation with a candidate.

Big Biller
Overall they are great to deal with and the software works very well- Definitely happy with it.
PROSBig Biller is easy to use, visually appealing and it does everything I need in my recruiting business. Nothing fancy or complicated but as a single user I really don't need complicated. Great product !
CONSSome of the analytics are hard to work , they also don't have everything I am trying to analyze. Certain other little bugs , like when sending an email to a candidate on a Job search- the one job I am trying to send doesnt populate ever and you have to actually manually search for it . One would think that its easy to fix but so far, no...

Great System
Overall we are happy with the switch. The program has many more options than our previous CRM and is a much better value add to the company.
PROSOne of the best things about Big Biller is the amount of areas that are customizable. From access levels for employees to flows and systems.
CONSThere are some glitches in the system. Emails cannot be sent to any yahoo based email addresses, and this has been unfixed for some time now. Also, there are some areas that seem should be customizable that were overlooked, like adding options to the status of people. Customer service can also be slow to respond.

We had many issues with Bullhorn and the cost vs the services we received no longer made sense.
