Using Stream for a new social media startup

The ease of use definitely helped validate our decision to pick Stream as our News Feed provider. Once live, it has worked very well.

PROS

We surveyed a couple of vendors to power the "News Feed" in our social media app. Stream had a set of features that covered the majority of our use cases, and was easy to configure.

CONS

We had some difficulty finding why we were hitting quota limits and incurring overage fees. It would have been helpful if there was some more detail in the provided reporting dashboard

We wanted an off-the-shelf product that provided the majority of the features, without having to build it ourselves.

Easy to use Chat provider

Overall nothing to mention.

PROS

Stream is easy to integrate with an existing product, the documentation is well written and the implementation was super easy. the service is reliable and cheap.

CONS

Analytics capabilities could be more powerful.

I don't remember exactly, but the price and the possibility to auto translate chat messages were the selling point.

It was easy to integrate, flexible to accomodate to our needs, and customer support has always been kind and quick to respond.
