When you lack data - Share of Searching is the one to the rescue

Overall it's an impressive tool, with so much granularity. We are using it primarily for Moldova, were there is a huge lack of data on market (and volumes in search inclusively), but with Share of Searching we find insights almost for every category we are analysing.

PROS

Data visualisation - Trends, shares, granularity of data Almost live data - except monthly volumes, which come with a delay of 1-2 weeks after the month end, everything else gives you a very up to date data Insights - Sometimes you don't even realise how your brand activities (or inactivities) could impact your outcomes, and Share of Searching keeps you on track with this

CONS

One of the issues encountered - When you want to see your monthly evolution in share of search (among competition for instance), data for the previous month could be seen only in the middle of next one, and you have no daily, or weekly granularity, only monthly. But this is rather linked to how Google provide data and not platform itself Saving your "searches" - You have the possibility to save your "search" so you won't need to enter all the keywords and make the needed set-up each time, but if you make some updates to this search (different period for example), you need to save it again, means no possibility to overwrite the previous one (and you could end up having 3-4 "searches" with same name, and it's a bit confusing)

Thank you for your comment about saving search queries - we are now working on a new feature so that you can edit and save existing saved searches without having to save them as a new search. Incredible tool for SEOs

PROS

Share of Searching enables you to access keyword data from Google Trends without any limitations such as maximum number of queries etc. I use it weekly for keyword research and trending topics and monthly for reporting on internal brand and competitor share of search. Also love how easy is it to extract the data in a format that works for me. There are also well built out visuals for anyone who quickly needs to download a graph for a deck or presentation so that is really handy as well. Overall it's a great all round SEO tool with so many great features. I've been using it for years and consider it a must have.

CONS

Sometimes there are glitches when pulling information, however this usually resolves on it's own once I repull it again and likely is more an issue on Google's side more than anything.

Reason for choosing Share of Searching

Share of Searching had a better dashboard/interface, and also fewer limitations. I just preferred the overall layout of data and ease of accessing it. I like how there aren't too many sections, it's robust whilst also being simple and easy to use.

If you use Google trends a lot, this will improve analysis and save you time

Good tool. As with all search data though, sometime it can be like reading tea leaves (which for some is part of the fun)

Great software

PROS

Easy software for a simple concept - but great UX and the value is great. We use this both internally and externally to track our growth and competition.

CONS

Design is a bit outdated, but this is not a huge concern.

It is a fast to use, no complex traing required tool with powerful feature of time optimization

CONS

It is tailored to a narrow set of descovery tasks. Might other functions of insights search be added, this could make the tool invaluable

A solid solution for a valuable tool

The overall experience has been very good.

PROS

Ability to pull reports on a real-time basis. The multiple dimensions the data is presented in are helpful to make quick inferences to the dataset.

CONS

Occassionally data can be missing, but this is very rare.
