It has been a reliable service since we started using the hosted version. We really needed a way to monitor how processes and tasks have been going and its configuration and integration is easy and straightforward. With this service, we have been able to solve issues in half the time we spent previously.

Healthchecks.io is an easy to use health check monitoring service, based on HTTP pings. Creating a new check is easy with its integrated cron expression editor, as well as monitoring how checks are going. Pricing is easy and cheap and the amount of integrations it has is pretty useful. Also, the ability to self host is a big plus for environments with restricted access to the outside internet. Finally, documentation is well written and easy to understand, something a lot of open source software projects miss.

The software doesn't have much cons, however, just as HTTP pings are simple and straightforward, they can also be a bit tricky to use in situations where there is no internet connection and are a bit complicated to integrate when you want to send more than just an OK to the application. Self-hosting the application is also a little bit complicated, as we suffered sudden downtimes and unresponsiveness of the application.

Healthchecks.io does one thing and does it well. What I like most about Healthchecks.io is that it doesn't bother me unless something is wrong. Aside from a monthly wrap-up email with a quick status, I only receive notifications when I want them; when something happens to my server farm.

The reporting capabilities of Healthchecks.io are very barebones. It is limited to text-only reporting of uptime and could potentially benefit from some graphical reports.

It's just been great. I absolutely love using this tool and have told my friends about it. It's really a set it and forget it kind of tool. The interface is easy to understand and the software is so easy to customize. I'm a big fan of this service.

I love how easy it is to set up and make it work exactly the way you want to. It's so easy to be creative with this tool as well. I use it a lot in my home automations as it helps me track down faulty configurations quickly. For example, when an automation doesn't trigger as it should, Healthcheck.io alerts me immediately via Pushover since it didn't receive the ping it was supposed to get. It's also self-hostable and really easy to set that up via Docker or pip.

I honestly can't complain about anything with this software. It's free, it's reliable and it's great - what's not to love. Is it maybe a bit simple? Yes, but I really don't need a super-advanced tool (a lot of times I feel like you sign up for a service with so many features but only use one)

Servers such as nginx or kubernetes don't have built-in integrations so you need to do some setup work. Not difficult, though.

My overall experience with Healthchecks.io is overwhelmingly positive. The service means I don't have to worry about if a critical cron task fails silently, as it will notify me of the issue. it will also notify me of complete server downtime before I get a chance to check in myself

I love how easy it is to set up a watched cron task using healthchecks.io. The email alerts for downtime mean I can set and forget them, and not have to constantly check a dashboard to see if there are any issues

The only feature that I would like to see implemented is a mobile app for quicker alerts on downtime

It solves the issue of tracking cron jobs that I have setup for my product which run everyday for several clients and it helps me in tracking and resolving issues when healthcheck notifies me of the downtimes.

It is simple to setup and the documentation is very easy to follow. and the service reliability is amazing as healthchecks has never missed a notification.

One thing which is needed is more options when trying to ping a check and grouping "pings" based on the "ping" payload and filtering based on the "ping" payload is I feel is needed. Also more detailed documentation is needed for when it comes to self deployment of Healthchecks.io

Very quick to set up and integrate with systems to monitor. Requires very little ongoing maintenance to keep working. High level of confidence that we will be notified when an issue is detected. Great documentation. Flexible integration options.

Would love to be able to 'ping' servers to monitor availability

Its a very lightweight Monitoring system if you are interested if a service is up or down. It does its job fast and without any Problems.

Its very easy to setup and very custumizable (e.g. Intervalls, Notifications...) The documentation has enought examples for most systems. And there is a Integration for Homeassistent

I am very Happy with the Software, sometimes I would wish packaged Software to install (e.g. Debian Package with Wizzard instead of a cron.

We run several machine critical data collection tasks using cron and needed a simple way to reliably monitor them. The builtin facilities in cron were insufficient. Healthchecks.io let us setup our cron monitors in a matter of minutes anD has dramatically reduced the amount of time it takes us to ensure these jobs run when they are supposed to.

Having a simple HTTPS endpoint to ping after a job has run is great, it can be easily integrated in any script and with any language. As an added benefit, there are different (optional) endpoints to signal job start and job end which helps monitor the job duration.

The reporting features are very basic, maybe some graph would make it easier to read.

Healthchecks.io is very easy to set up for monitoring periodic job status. Its features are easy to understand. It can also be self-hosted.

There are some room to improve in providing more fine-grained association of alert methods with healthchecks., as well as organization of the checks.

It requires almost zero configuration. The instructions are exactly were you need them, clear and easy to follow. The system does exactly what I wanted it to do - no more not less.

Setting up the system is pretty easy, since the website offer you so many snippets that can be used with your favorite tool/language.

Be careful to disable health check update on page load, it had me a couple of times.

It does what I expected, easily, intuitively, helpfully and for free. Very important is notification when something goes wrong on my server. This is also covered.

We are using the platform to monitor cron jobs, I love the fact that notifications come through as soon as there is an issue. It also helped to provide a structure to how we manage cron jobs, which is great for us. The free version comes very well equipped. I did need to take some time to understand how it works and how to implement it, but it did not take very long to get it up and running. Cron monitoring, made simple and easy.

I cannot say that there is anything in particular that I did not like.

I’ve set this up for my personal server in home which host a variety of services ranging from home use to personal projects with educational value. Being able to integrate this service with ease in my Organizr dashboard proved valuable as I can at a glance check the status of my service nodes in Proxmox. Not a critical business value to my setup but no the less reliable.

It's easy to implement, track electricity status changes on different assets during this difficult winter in Ukraine - the idea is to have an overview of availability (both electricity and connectivity) of various types of assets.

Actually there is nothing to say here, just a little bit of confuse to get the monitoring to work properly with timezone settings on the devices, but this is a very minor one once realized how it works.

I'm using it with Ansible on my personal computer to make sure it's being synced. The way I'm using it, if anything breaks or if there's a long time between pings, Healthchecks will send me an email with the error I coded there. It was easy to set up and easy to use.

It's literally just an endpoint you call. And if something goes down, there are several ways to be pinged, even on a free plan. For what I need, it's more than enough.

It's very easy to quickly setup monitoring and alerts. When I lolled at other services there were a lot of things to configure on the service and on the server. With healthchecks.io we just get a url to ping, which is very easy to do with any script.

I am using the free version so I can't really complain. I have a simple use case and the free version does exactly what I need
