Pros/Cons
Pros
- How easy it is to share your projects with your teammates. It provides a communicative environmet with super easy access to edit shared projects.
- Ability to make publication quality figures of electrophysiology traces that also can perform key statistical tests. Excellent customer service is also very much appreciated.
- I did and will highly recommend this software to my labmates, my classmates, and my colleagues who also in the scientific field. I do believe they also love this powerful tool.
Cons
- Data manipulation is limited compared to some of the other counterparts. No customizing macros or process storage available.
- Overall, I had a poor experience with OriginPro.
- Price for personal use is too high. Should be no more than subscription to office 365.
Pros
- The interface is clean, minimal and streamlined. The software itself is extremely reliable and is great for your basic statistical functions, and basic mathematical calculations too.
- The most important thing that I like about this software is that it's data visualization capability is beyond amazing.
- Moreover, the support is great: being a very famous software, you can benefit from the support included in the product and from the tons of users.
Cons
- Data visualizatikn without plugins and extra addins is completely awful. Basically some weird looking shapes on the plot area.
- This now becomes a very time-consuming process as you now have to learn the system. Also, this can lead to errors in the process and ultimately affect the result of the research.
- It would sometimes crash and take time loading when using it through my older MAC computer. I sometimes had to start my analyses all over again.
