WhosOnLocation is a cloud-based visitor management solution suitable for small, midsize and large enterprises. It's suitable for a variety of industries including schools, offices, government, manufacturing and construction. Key features of the solution include visitor tracking, badge printing, visitor car parking, notifications and reporting.

WhosOnLocation enables users to manage visitors signing in and out of facilities, view unauthorized visitors and manage visitor policies. Other features include visitor pre-registration, real-time monitoring and data export.

The solution is available with monthly and annual subscription pricing options. A free trial version with access to all features and support is also available. It's available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. The solution offers video tutorials, email and chat-based support.

Reporting, ease of pre-entry for visitors, Service Provider Management and many more day to day tasks are made easy with WOL.

Pros

It is so scalable - you can choose to use the bare minimum of modules or the whole lot, if your organisation requires it. It is also very configurable for instance the alerting of visitor arrival can be by email, SMS or both.
The Service Provider Manager and Qualifications Manager make it easy to manage contractors and staff qualifications alike.
Having set it up for what was a medium sized single site, and extending it across 7 offices and 350+ staff I can honestly say it isn't difficult and we proved that by deploying it to a national organisation across 13 sites with 1200 staff.

Cons

Navigating around the various functions can take some time especially if you don't use a particular module frequently. Other than that (minor) no real dislikes with the software.

We are open about the fact that we are a true enterprise-class application that is very deep and wide in terms of functionality. We can be a very simple, but powerful, visitor management system for small business whilst at the same time, for those requiring it, we can be a full-on employee, visitor, conractor, induction, and evacuation system for customers with thousands of users across multiple locations. This of course poses challenges to us, one of which is improving how first time users get to understand how the app works. We recently introduced inline tours (accessible from the bottom right corner of your Dashboard) which guides you through key setup steps. This is an improvement which is a still a work in progress. We have a very busy reception, it enables me to continue on with my work whilst the visitor is signing in, I love that a text is sent, again enabling me to get on with my job rather than trying to ring the person they are visiting. I like the fact that once they have signed in I can look on my screen and know their name, company and who they are visiting.
I also like that WOL is always evolving, they are always looking at adding new features, in particular I like the panic button.

Cons

I have had feedback from people signing in that they find the signing in process lengthy, in particular the mobile number and the photo.

Thank you for the review, we love to hear that by using WhosOnLocation you have found efficiencies. The panic button is a great feature, which hopefully you don't ever have to use.

To streamline the process you could make the following changes 1) change the frequency of photo capture from every visit to every 3 or 6 months for returning visitors and contractors; 2) if not all the questions are needed you can reduce the number via the questionnaire manager in the app.

keeping track of clients that visit and also our visitor car parking. being able to retain previously visited client info to make it easier for sign in. looks so much more professional than having a clip board and pen.

Pros

Likes the ease of set up and that you can customise the information to suit as well as completing pre registration of visitors.

Cons

Our clients have mentioned that it is too long to sign in with the questions and that it would be beneficial if multiple questions could be put on one screen so there was not so many parts to gather the information required.

No need for a receptionist, people notified immediately of visitors arrival, looks great, visitors are impressed by it

Pros

Minimal maintenance, easily adaptable to provide good aesthetics etc, value for money, super customer service

Cons

Updates tend to crash the sessions so visitors walk in and are unable to use the system, updates also cause issues with the label printing so they can't be scanned due to size changes

Our clients love WOL and its also very handy for me (as admin staff) to monitor staff in/out as well as other useful functions. If we could add sound - like a voice walk through, that would be cool, and would benefit some of our clients that need extra support to assist with signing in.

It's really easy to use, you don't need loads of training. There are lots of tutorials and if you do get stuck the customer service team is quick to respond. From an H&S perspective, we can now easily see who is on the site right now and track who has visited over a period of time. We are able to easily manage inductions and insurances. Overall the response from staff and contractors has been positive

Cons

I would like to be able to attach documents in the service provider module (i.e. task analysis etc), there are regular upgrades and improvements so hopefully this one get implemented soon

Pros

Whos on Location is absolutely brilliant value for money, with rapid and regular updates bringing new features. This program is fully featured for its primary purpose of visitor/contractor management.

Cons

Some aspects are not as intuitive as I would like, however I am not sure anything could be done to make it any more user friendly. There is no ability to set up a kiosk on an android tablet which is really annoying.

Compatibility issues with printing. We are no longer able to use printing on networked machines as we are unable to delete the security updates.

Great for reporting data and the features are simple and easy to use and also the security and evacuation alert that is included in the system is perfect for our visitors and staff.

The option for customers to put a phone number and not just a mobile number only, however I can understand the reason for the mobile number is that if there was an emergency on site, that the visitor would receive an sms message to evacuate.

Independent visitor management, time saving for local admins into chasing up visitors, modern display, reduced our carbon footprint (no paper wastage from sign-in books, etc.).

Pros

Great user experience, good layout and customization options. Compatible with the up-to-date device choices/ preferences and requires minimal back end support to run/ troubleshoot.

Cons

The app basked kiosk tend to sometimes freeze and the app could crash.
There are sometimes lag by the app, but guess this is dependant on the network connection.
