PROS

After using Part3 full time for the last 5 months, emails have drastically been reduced allowing more time to be focused on the project. Instant tracking data is key as it comes up in each monthly site meeting. End the end Part3 is a one stop place where all CA takes place between the owner, design team and the contractor.

CONS

Overall we are very happy with the software. As items have come up, we have emailed the Part3 team in which they respond very quickly and resolve the issue or request with in a timely manner.

Excellent Architect Focused Contract Administration Tool

Overall the software is keeping us better organized and provides a professional and leading edge approach to CA document control.

PROS

The software is easy to navigate and takes very little time to learn. Our team was able to be setup quickly and roll-out to our Contractors and Consultants with very little challenge. Part3 listened to our needs and customized our templates. Rolls the many software types into one and creates a one-stop location for all our documents and current project records.

CONS

Things could be more user friendly from the Contractor's side. Submitting pricing, quotes, and progress payment certificates is missing. Adding cover sheets to submitals is cumbersome. Needs a tool to track metrics like review times overall and from each consultant.

Part3 was cost competitive and provided most features we needed.

Overall experience has been positive. The potential functionality of P3 is evident. Very excited to see the evolution and leverage new functionality when available.

PROS

1) User interface is intuitive. 2) Graphic display of data is easy to understand. 3) Forced document numbering/organization eliminates human error.

CONS

1) ProCore integration leaves GC with too much control: Example: CCDC says submittals/RFI have 10 day review period. GC can pick whatever date they want, even if less than 10 days. this skews the workflow and prioritization of tasks on the consultant side. 2) Drawing revision history is desperately needed by consultants. 3) Subconsultants must SIGN their instructions before prime consultant can issue. This causes delays when new sub consultants are learning P3 and don't know to sign. Prime consultant needs an option to issue without signature. 4) More tutorials required for site review, specifically creating 2nd, 3rd, 4th reports etc. creation of 1st report is clear.

Intuitive, focused, flexible

We have found Part3 to be a great time-saver, easily offsetting the cost, and our team is able to spend more time focusing on architectural issues rather than clerical work. We had previously avoided using other CA software because of unnecessary complexity and a collaborative focus that didn't work with the types of projects we do, along with a price that we couldn't justify. The pricing model for Part3 and its architect-focused and flexible nature worked much better for our office as we are able to deploy it on smaller projects and it remains effective even without buy-in from clients, contractors and consultants.

PROS

The simplicity of the Part3 interface is its greatest strength: new users are able to use it effectively with little to no training, it can be easily used in the field on a cell phone or tablet, and it's much easier to bring clients, consultants and contractors on board. The development team is very responsive to issues and new suggestions, regularly updating the product in response to feedback from users.

CONS

At the time of writing this review, Part3 is still in development, and as a result it does not yet have the full suite of features that the developers envision and which other software may offer, which is why I've given it only 4 stars for features and overall quality. But the pace of development is rapid, with new modules being offered every few months, so I expect it won't be long before the full range of features is available.

Part3 review

We have been able to move away from a manually managed Excel project log and sending out additional emails with assigned reviews. Overall experience has been good and encourage to continue to develop this software for the A/E industry.

PROS

The product is easy to use. The ability to assign to team members and then have a log to track are really important. Due date reminders are really important.

CONS

The templates could be more customizable. The in place editing/markup tools are very basic and as such don't use much. Procore integration doesn't work for our workflow as we essentially have to import in and still send out to team members.

Part 3 for Project Management Use

Part 3 has definitely been able to reduce the amount of time spent on tasks, which theoretically should make the ROI better for companies. I think there are some items that need to be ironed out on Part 3's end to make it the most desirable program to use, understanding that this takes time for all program development as more individuals use the program.

PROS

This program is extremely easy to use. The best parts of it were the reporting tool, submittals, and instructions (Site instructions and contemplated changes). The reporting tool lays everything out in a nice format and user friendly. The submittals makes it much quicker for returning shop drawings, especially for those from other consultants, and adds a cover page making all submittals look the same.

CONS

I didn't like that users have to set up an account on Part 3 for items to be distributed to them, especially for site visit reports where the attendees may be different from meeting to meeting. I also understand that every program has their glitches, but on 4 different occasions there were issues with items I sent out not getting to the required people, but appearing on my end that they sent fine.

Good Product

PROS

You still cant track the status of proposed changes which is critical in knowing what is outstanding and what potential change orders are in queue.

Overall Part3 is a huge benefit to our firm, the amount of time the software saves us is so valuable to allow us to also pursue and expand on the Design aspect of the Architecture industry and not have to only focus on the CA portion. The staff are always there to help if needed and are willing to receive feedback and make future improvements!

PROS

The information is all in one place, all organized. Tracking is made extremely easy. Helps with staying ahead of shop drawing and RFI review deadlines. The software is quite easy to use and learn. Huge time saver!

CONS

The field review portion needs a bit of work as it is not the easiest to write field reviews. The markup features and tools do need an update, but we have been told this is coming in the near future.

Very quick and great customer service

It been great, especially due the quick response I receive from customer service to resolve my problems

PROS

I like how I dont not have to look for a template to start a document each time, which take a lot more time. I also dont have to worry about writing an email or notifying someone to review document. Its generally allowing things to be faster!

CONS

Some feature are still missing like more customization of templates or the syncing of the distribution list on Procore.

Part 3 Review

The customer support has been great. The [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and support staff of Part3 have been great with timely responses.

PROS

Document issuing is simple and automatic logging of dates and issues is a benefit and saves time. Site reviews using the App have saved significant time

CONS

The link to Procore is not very functional or user friendly for consultant reviews of shop drawings or RFI responses.

No user friendly

PROS

Nothing. It has no features that a construction management software should have.

CONS

You cannot generate any log and track the status for RFI and submittal. Its a portal not software. Need lot of improvement

Very Helpful Tool Unique to the Industry

PROS

The new site visit report tool is a great addition to an already fantastic software. Super easy to use and intuitive. Able to jump right in and the user support are quick to respond when needed.

CONS

Some small bugs and features that could be improved being a new software that is getting tested by users. The company is constantly updating and addressing. They welcome feedback to improve the product which feels great to be apart of.

Great tool!

Has given us a consistent way of managing our projects is CA. Has done away with much of the data entry required in our previous system (excel).

PROS

The dashboard feature is a great tool for project managers who want a quick snapshot on the health of the project. We're excited about the new Field Review Report feature and the Certificate of Payment feature.

CONS

Would like it to eventually tie into early phases of a project - monitor the health of the project over its entire life cycle.
