Wonderful for Nonprofits
My favorite features are the fundraising and online auction. We recently used this feature for a fundraiser and had a lot of success.
CONSThe customer service response time is great, however, one of the chat representatives was not helpful and did not know how to fix an error I made. He took a very long time trying to find the answer and ultimately was unable to help. Thankfully another representative reached out and my problem was fixed immediately.
Reasons for switching to Givebutter
They were constantly changing and I didn't like their interface. Givebutter was easier to use and I didn't like that they were always merging companies. In addition, I love the way Givebutter was started.

Integration with Bloomerang is critical and easy to use
We would not have used GiveButter if it had not been for their Bloomerang integration. That has made transferring donor data and information super easy.
PROSEasy and very intuitive to use. Free to set up pages and has a good number of options to use, but not an overwhelming number of options. Love that on auction items, you can manually add bids (for live auction) and can change the auction start date for each item.The integration with Bloomerang is crucial! It is the reason that we are using GiveButter. There are other good options out there, but they don't have the native integration.The Live Display feature is slick and will come in handy at live events for real-time updates.
CONSFor some reason, text will not format correctly in the Story section, especially when copying and pasting. I have been told by support that I need to manually type everything in versus copying and pasting. Bullets when formatting text don't work correctly either. This is a basic feature that must be corrected immediately.The ability to use discount codes on the registration page is pretty weak. Cannot configure codes to specific items. For instance, if you want $10 off a specific ticket, you can't assign it to that specific ticket. Doing a percentage amount can get messy too. Need the ability to assign codes to specific tickets.Missing chance drawing (raffles) functionality. We're bastardizing a way to do it using auctions, but I hate to have to bring in another software to execute the chance drawing.

Love RallyUp, but we need the Bloomerang integration. We did one event with RallyUp, which went really well, but the back end cleaning up and reporting was a mess.

The Kindful product is pitiful. It is not very flexible and graphically intuitive.

A Great Experience
We are pleased with the service overall and deeply appreciate the live customer support, webinars, and knowledge sharing.
PROSGivebutter is a great, user friendly experience for online giving and marketing. Our team has been able to create campaigns with ease and the donors appreciate the attention to detail and customer service.
CONSWe have had some challenges with donors setting up recurring payments to limited run campaigns. It may have started with user error, but getting the recurring payments transferred or turned off has been difficult.

Our previous servicer was too expensive.

Not a great fit for our live auction and raise the paddle
Givebutter is free and generally easy to set up campaigns and accept donations.
CONSHalfway through our fundraising event, Givebutter made it extremely difficult to assign items and raise the paddle donations to our guests. As a result, we received a lot of criticism and ended up having to take payment on a different platform than Givebutter. Our event guests found accessing the online silent auction very difficult and confusing. Many users had trouble accessing the page as the Givebutter link sent them to a very weird website. As a result, we believe we lost a significant amount of donations the night of our event.

CONSThere is a slight limit on how you can format newletters, not a deal break by any means.

Givebutter Needs to Be Better at Tying Together Physical Events and the Digital World
I love that Givebutter sends emails to the administrator with every donation that is made or ticket that is bought. That is the reason we keep using Givebutter--so that we can act as a concierge service and be known for being helpful and responsive to our patrons. I also love that the forms are visually beautiful, customizable, and professional.
CONSThe lack of ability to sell tickets through the app or for patrons to be able to select seats from a seating chart makes the "Event" function of Givebutter far less useful than it could be for us. I would recommend Givebutter to every music nonprofit that I know if it had those features, but because those features aren't available, I can't recommend Givebutter to anyone else in my industry, and have to put up with the service's limitations in the meantime. Just in our artistic specialization in New York, I estimate that $2 million per year of donations and ticket sales could be processed through Givebutter if it had those features. If any other company sent us automatic emails after someone made a donation or bought a ticket and had adequately professional forms, we would stop using Givebutter and switch services immediately. I just hope that Givebutter will prioritize the "Events" so that we can keep using the service and recommend it to other organizations.

Givebutter gives, gives, and gives
A great experience. I found and deployed Givebutter in our organization and it has been nothing but smiles from me and our Club Treasurer. I have deployed other online financial services and none have been as fun and hassle-free as with Givebutter. No question!
PROSWe love Givebutter. It has given us the ability to receive one-time and recurring donations from our benefactors and dues-paying members. The best part is donors and members can edit their profiles and giving without our help, saving loads of time. The fact our organization can turn on/off the additional ask is helpful. Our organization covers the fee until our donors and members get acclimated to giving that extra amount. We're sure once they see how organized we now are, they'll gladly contribute the small fee.
CONSI have zero complaints or critiques. The whole onboarding, documentation, and training offered has been smooth sailing all the way.

Fee-free option, easy to use interface, simple integration with organization's website, and ability to have multiple administrators with read-only or top-level authority. Simple, easy, and transparent!

Givebutter Use for School Fundraisers
It has been a good format for our school's fundraising needs. We need to keep as much profit as possible and Givebutter allows us to do that. We also like that it accepts multiple forms of payment to fit all needs.
PROSIt is simple to use for payment as a user and set up is fairly easy. The display is eye catching and colorful. Users can watch how a fundraiser or event is doing as well as leave a fun comment for the person they are suporting.
CONSThe user interface as a donor is not easy to move through. It is difficult to understand how to create an account for yourself, but also have the fundraiser page for your child. It is challenging to switch from the child page to a donor profile. I also found it difficult to share the page with others.
Reasons for switching to Givebutter
To save less in processing fees, but to also have a format that we could adjust to fit our needs for each fundraiser.

Awesome Auction Functionality
Overall, Givebutter is easy to set up for an online auction.
PROSWe use Givebutter annually to help host a hybrid online and in person auction. This is the second year we have rolled out the platform, and we have raised more money using Givebutter on standard items that have always been a part of our in-person silent auction. The ability to bid in-person on the app or from a different state helps excite the donor base.
CONSThe app isn’t very intuitive, and only seems like it is for the administrators. It would be nice if the app could be used to help manage the auction as an administrator, or be used to bid by a bidder, rather than on a website on the phone.

Best Option for Small Nonprofits
We have no plans whatsoever to change from Givebutter and see ourselves using it for a long time. It's perfect for our needs! Any nonprofit with a budget of under 1M would be wise to explore Givebutter as an option.
PROSGivebutter's customer service is probably my favorite, though a close second is the format of the dashboard and ease of use. I always receive a response from customer service within an hour or less when I've reached out, and I see consistent improvements being made from suggestions made by users. They really, really listen to what users are saying and implement solutions quickly!
CONSThe only function I dislike is in the auction feature, where it cannot be deleted from a campaign. We launched an auction on the wrong campaign by mistake and now it lives there indefinitely, without a way to remove. However, I'm confident Givebutter will update soon to fix this, as they always have a way of listening to the needs of their users and implementing solutions quickly.

Great Price, Great Product
Givebutter does everything that I need it to. I can process donations for our ongoing donation page and for specific events like Giving Tuesday. I am also able to use it for our annual fundraiser by selling vendor booths & tickets. And all of this for free. It's perfect!
PROSIt's free which is great for me because I work at a small nonprofit and we have a huge upswing in money coming in for our annual Fundraiser in August, then the rest of the year there is little activity. Paying for a product all year when it's really mostly used a few months out of the year didn't make sense. Givebutter being free is the biggest Pro!
CONSIt was little hard to import donors and I never figured out how to put in past donations to get our records all in one place, but I was able to tag people as having donated in the past so that worked well enough.
Reason for choosing Givebutter
All the other products required me to schedule a demo to see what their products can do. With Givebutter, I was able to make an account and start using it to see if it was right for my needs. It was so easy to use that I cancelled all the demos and started using GIvebutter that day.
Reasons for switching to Givebutter
DonorPerfect was already expensive for us because we are a small nonprofit. The features that I needed to sell event tickets for out annual fundraiser were extra and we couldn't afford it. We made due, but then we were notified that they were increasing the price! So I cancelled immediately and started shopping around.

Amazing software for small nonprofits
Amazing experience with Givebutter and I would 10/10 recommend them to small to mid sized nonprofits looking for a comprehensive fundraising solution! I don’t recommend it for larger organizations that need more custom solutions and robust reporting.
PROSThe price is unbeatable — it’s free, other than fees that can be passed to the donor! Not only is it free, it’s intuitive and powerful. It’s better than some of the paid tools I’ve used. The customer service is fantastic and they are always adding new features. Free SMS?! Such a bargain and has been so useful to our organization.
CONSThe email functionality isn’t great because the email design/template isn’t very customizable. However, it’s great for just transactional emails, and anything more sophisticated I use another email platform for. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the way the plain donate forms looked, but they’re updating those too!

I chose GiveButter because it had so many features built into one free platform. Donation forms, auction, events, P2P, SMS, and emails!

GiveButter makes fundraising for non-profits easy and user-friendly
The group I am a part of doesn't have a lot of tech-savvy members. being able to use an intuitive platform like GiveButter makes it feasible and easy for us to fundraise at all types of events. QR codes, campaign URLs, and text-do-donate have all changed who we can reach and how.
PROSGiveButter campaigns are so easy to set up; they let you duplicate a previous campaign and amend as necessary. It's intuitive and you can always view what your campaign looks like at any step of the way.
CONSSome of the user interface seems busy and it's not always clear which areas of the page I should be giving attention to. But I do always figure it out in the end, and by looking at everything I find out more about GiveButter's functionality.
Reasons for switching to Givebutter
Eventbrite was expensive, didn't have a lot of licenses, and didn't feel personal. We like that GiveButter gives us the attention we need when setting up new campaigns and that it works with non-profits.

Game Changer
I loved how easy to set up and track donations for a small staff of a non profit.
CONSThat it uses Stripe, I found that hard to connect with on the site. It's not essential but the third party company had a confusing sign up process for an accountant to work with of a Non Profit.
Reason for choosing Givebutter
Paypal had very high fees for donors to contribute e and it’s hard to organize donations if they are based in a different campaign.
Reasons for switching to Givebutter
Give Butter easily connected with Quickbooks and made it open to more donors that don't use social media with its many options for payment.

Simply solution for family benefit
We needed a way to solicit donations online and with various payment options.
PROSGivebutter provided me a simple solution to create a campaign and solicit online donations for a family in need. The interface was easy to use. We were up and running in less than an hour. I was able to quickly make changes along the way as new donations became available. It was also great to assign other individuals access to run reports and track donations. Payouts were simple and quick.
CONSI wish I could have uploaded pictures of donation items directly into the interface rather than having to upload to a server and referencing them via .html. I think that there should be a better way to manage.

Giving more to the cause
This system was very simple to integrate with our website and payment processing systems. Being able to switch to Givebutter without any downtime was critical. It helped keep us focus on the different events without the worry of switching systems. Customer service with Givebutter was top notch. Being a first-time user and needing to get the events up and running was a top priority. Any questions we had Givebutter answered quickly and with the knowledge needed. WE were not waiting on answers or "let me find out".
CONSWe do a big golf outing each year it's one of our biggest fundraisers. I would like to see more flexibility with the ticketing system.
Reasons for switching to Givebutter
The cost of the product was too expensive. Our goal is the money raised to go to the cause at hand. Keeping our expenses down helps us do more for the community.

Givebutter is Best
I am very satisfied with everything about Givebutter.
PROSGivebutter is straightforward in its presentation and I felt confident in my choice to use them. I'm not the most technically savy person yet I was able to navigate the site and implement the features easier than expected. When I needed support they were very helpful and efficient as well as kind. I liked being able to compose email blasts and set them to deliver at a specified date/time. I participated in a webcast that was very informative yet a bit daunting for me personally. The leaders were very motivated to give all of us the best guidance and they were very sincere in that.
CONSAs a new user I jumped right into the "fray" to begin fundraising and I know I am missing some key advantage features of Givebutter. I really cannot say anything I liked least and I look forward to exploring more ways to use this service more efficiently for my nonprofit.

Great solution for a PTA
It's been great. Great support. Great to use. Adopting it as our tool has elevated our fundraising efforts.
PROSSite is easy to set up and customize. It is easy to share out. And it is easy for donors to use.
CONSWould like to be able to customize fee settings more - choose to cover some fees and request donors cover others. Auction needs more functionality. One specific thing is the ability to print item sheets with description and picture. We cannot make an easily seeable and exportable note on transactions. Cannot make customizable fields for internal use only.

Ease of use, customization ability, and fee structure. We may use RallyUp for auction or another provider due to lack of needed functionality.

I have had a very positive experience with Givebutter. The free training, implementation, and tech support has been superb. Everyone is so caring, cheerful, helpful, and capable. The response time is excellent and they listen to all my suggestions and put them on a list for developers to work on.
PROSI appreciate the beautiful user experience, the outstanding customer service, and the easy, intuitive way it is set up.
CONSGivebutter is still developing as a donor management system (very quickly, I might say), so some features that I might want are still under development. But I fully expect all those features will soon be available.

Great fundraising tool for non profits!
Givebutter has made it easy for our team members to help us raise funds while allowing each individual to track the money they have raised.
PROSI like that Givebutter tracks all donations including cash and check. The best part is it automatically sends a contribution statement to the donor. Givebutter not only allows me to track donations, but helps me stay in touch with donors too.
CONSAt this time, Givebutter has worked great for us. I don't have expereince using other tools, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

We chose Givebutter because it seemed more user friendly, allowed for tracking of individual fundraising, and the fees were lower compared to most other tools.

PROSThis is a game changer for non profits on allowing to "tip" the service received with give butter, versus paying a fee every year. No cap on donors in the database.
CONSSometimes hard to use, especially with campaigns.

Love it!
We have had a wonderful experience with Givebutter. It has had everything we have needed in a platform (and many bonus tools for us!), save us staff time, we have seen increases in donors covering their own credit card fees, and we have had helpful chat conversations with the support team through the chat feature when we have questions/needed a bit of extra assistance. Overall, its easy to use and one can learn to navigate it fairly quickly!
PROSGivebutter was a gamechanger for our small nonprofit. It has increased our staff efficiency. We have seen an increase in donors willing to cover their own credit card fees which is like adding an extra donation to their gift! I really appreciated the support and helpfulness of the Support Team through the chat feature when I needed a bit of extra assistance when we were initially learning to use the platform. Overall it was a smooth and easy to navigate transition. We have felt like this platform has been a value-add to our nonprofit and our fundraisers!
CONSI was hoping to have a feature that would allow us to add custom fields to to tickets. However, I reached out to the support team and they were very helpful! Needed features/tool improvements can be added to a list and users can vote on the ideas; I find it helpful to have the sharing tool of ideas and a way that I can upvote/request features. Gives me hope the platform will just keep on improving!

Easy to use for nonprofits
Auction donation platform for inexpensive
PROSI like how aesthetically pleasing their format is. They also make it very easy to embed their widgets onto your website directly.
CONSI do not like that any extra information I associated with the registration of a contact in a transaction does not show up in reporting.
