Maximo on mobile with ease

Publishing the Maximo eco system on mobile for all company workers that use Maximo features exclusively on handhelds

PROS

The mobile application implemented by EzMax is completely integrated with Maximo and all its business objects. Every change on the Maximo database is easily reflected on the mobile application

CONS

Switching from Windows server to Linux server had presented some issues.

EZMaxMobile is great.

Switching 200 mechanics from paper based work orders to a mobile platform has saved our department a lot of time and money. It took some time and effort to implement but in the end it was well worth the effort.

PROS

What we like most is the ability of Interpro to customize the software to meet our changing business needs. Also, It only gives the information you need to complete a certain task, its so much easier to work with compared to full Maximo.

CONS

It can have sync issues, once in a while a mobile will have an error and wont resync with server until the error logs on the device are manually deleted.

Reason for choosing EZMaxMobile

We had already been using Maximo for some time so it was an easy decision to adopt EzMaxMobile.

EzMaxMobile for the win!

We have already realized many benefits with using EzMaxMobile. The biggest benefit is the decrease in downtime for our techs as they no longer have to return to the shop, log onto a pc, and enter a work request. They are able to simply enter the request at the equipment and when they are back in wi-fi range, the request is sent on. It is also a big help that the techs can take pictures of the equipment they are referring to and attach that directly to the request. This helps our Planning group out a lot. Another large benefit is notes on the Work Order. In the past a tech has waited until later to enter notes on the Work Order. Usually at the end of the day. Now, with EzMax, techs are entering their notes as soon as they come to mind. This has increased the Planners ability to plan for the equipment in question. It has reduced downtime going forward for the equipment.

PROS

Obviously the most useful feature of this product is the fact that we now have Maximo with us wherever we go! I say that, because this product is the only product that seems to be able to mimic desktop Maximo on a mobile device. That was a big issue for our users as we have an aging workforce and they did not want to have to learn a new user interface. Another big win was how easy it is to configure the software. If you have someone onsite who is well versed in Java, it will be simple to apply new fixes to the product as you go. If you do not have a Java expert onsite, Interpro is extremely quick to respond to configuration requests. In fact, Interpro has been nothing but fantastic during this entire process.

CONS

Honestly we do not have a lot of Cons about the software. The only real issue we have had at our site is getting the older generation to buy into mobile applications at work.

Reasons for switching to EZMaxMobile

We switched because it was determined that EzMaxMobile could meet the entire needs of our workforce, where others were meeting some needs, but not all. EzMaxMobile is very comprehensive in its scope and we found that to be the case when we implemented it at our site.

Simple and intelligent software that delivers exceptional quality and performance

Extremely positive. EZMaxMobile is very light yet very powerful software. Its architecture is very well done. InterPro is by far the most supportive and intelligent vendor I have worked with. They provide quick and individual attention to our users and delivers fixes and enhancements promptly. We have been gradually adding more and more user licenses over time due to the positive user experiences and user feedback we have received.

PROS

Very easy to implement the software. If needed, removing the software is also very easy and clean. Minimal configuration and it doesn't require a separate database and works well with minimum resources. Both online and offline connections work well. Synchronization to the Maximo database is fast and seamless.

CONS

There is not a lot of documentation like a user manual. To be fair, our software is highly customized for our needs, so InterPro is not entirely responsible.

Reason for choosing EZMaxMobile

To us, there was no comparison and EZMaxMobile is a clear winner in this category. It's simply the smartest software that delivers the best performance with the least resource and configuration. Other products we looked at required their own admin console, their own database with an archaic user interface.

Reasons for switching to EZMaxMobile

We tried to make IBM Maximo Mobile work for a couple of years because it is the native mobile solution to Maximo. After spending tens of thousands of dollars on the archaic handheld devices (IBM Maximo Mobile worked only on Windows CE) and wasting countless hours trying to make the software work, we finally gave up and started shopping. Almost all the other vendors we looked at required their own separate environment with their own databases and their solutions were clunky and overly complicated with a lot of points of failure. EZMaxMobile is simple, elegant, and functional. InterPro uses the newest technologies, provides fantastic support and they charge very little compared to other vendors.
