Maximo on mobile with ease

Publishing the Maximo eco system on mobile for all company workers that use Maximo features exclusively on handhelds

PROS

The mobile application implemented by EzMax is completely integrated with Maximo and all its business objects. Every change on the Maximo database is easily reflected on the mobile application

CONS

Switching from Windows server to Linux server had presented some issues.

EZMaxMobile is great.

Switching 200 mechanics from paper based work orders to a mobile platform has saved our department a lot of time and money. It took some time and effort to implement but in the end it was well worth the effort.

PROS

What we like most is the ability of Interpro to customize the software to meet our changing business needs. Also, It only gives the information you need to complete a certain task, its so much easier to work with compared to full Maximo.

CONS

It can have sync issues, once in a while a mobile will have an error and wont resync with server until the error logs on the device are manually deleted.

Reason for choosing EZMaxMobile

We had already been using Maximo for some time so it was an easy decision to adopt EzMaxMobile.

EzMaxMobile for the win!

We have already realized many benefits with using EzMaxMobile. The biggest benefit is the decrease in downtime for our techs as they no longer have to return to the shop, log onto a pc, and enter a work request. They are able to simply enter the request at the equipment and when they are back in wi-fi range, the request is sent on. It is also a big help that the techs can take pictures of the equipment they are referring to and attach that directly to the request. This helps our Planning group out a lot. Another large benefit is notes on the Work Order. In the past a tech has waited until later to enter notes on the Work Order. Usually at the end of the day. Now, with EzMax, techs are entering their notes as soon as they come to mind. This has increased the Planners ability to plan for the equipment in question. It has reduced downtime going forward for the equipment.

PROS

Obviously the most useful feature of this product is the fact that we now have Maximo with us wherever we go! I say that, because this product is the only product that seems to be able to mimic desktop Maximo on a mobile device. That was a big issue for our users as we have an aging workforce and they did not want to have to learn a new user interface. Another big win was how easy it is to configure the software. If you have someone onsite who is well versed in Java, it will be simple to apply new fixes to the product as you go. If you do not have a Java expert onsite, Interpro is extremely quick to respond to configuration requests. In fact, Interpro has been nothing but fantastic during this entire process.

CONS

Honestly we do not have a lot of Cons about the software. The only real issue we have had at our site is getting the older generation to buy into mobile applications at work.

Reasons for switching to EZMaxMobile

We switched because it was determined that EzMaxMobile could meet the entire needs of our workforce, where others were meeting some needs, but not all. EzMaxMobile is very comprehensive in its scope and we found that to be the case when we implemented it at our site.

Simple and intelligent software that delivers exceptional quality and performance

Extremely positive. EZMaxMobile is very light yet very powerful software. Its architecture is very well done. InterPro is by far the most supportive and intelligent vendor I have worked with. They provide quick and individual attention to our users and delivers fixes and enhancements promptly. We have been gradually adding more and more user licenses over time due to the positive user experiences and user feedback we have received.

PROS

Very easy to implement the software. If needed, removing the software is also very easy and clean. Minimal configuration and it doesn't require a separate database and works well with minimum resources. Both online and offline connections work well. Synchronization to the Maximo database is fast and seamless.

CONS

There is not a lot of documentation like a user manual. To be fair, our software is highly customized for our needs, so InterPro is not entirely responsible.

Reason for choosing EZMaxMobile

To us, there was no comparison and EZMaxMobile is a clear winner in this category. It's simply the smartest software that delivers the best performance with the least resource and configuration. Other products we looked at required their own admin console, their own database with an archaic user interface.

Reasons for switching to EZMaxMobile

We tried to make IBM Maximo Mobile work for a couple of years because it is the native mobile solution to Maximo. After spending tens of thousands of dollars on the archaic handheld devices (IBM Maximo Mobile worked only on Windows CE) and wasting countless hours trying to make the software work, we finally gave up and started shopping. Almost all the other vendors we looked at required their own separate environment with their own databases and their solutions were clunky and overly complicated with a lot of points of failure. EZMaxMobile is simple, elegant, and functional. InterPro uses the newest technologies, provides fantastic support and they charge very little compared to other vendors.

Great software if you have field staff that needs to use maximo

Great experience. Our deployment of maximo would not have been successful if we did not use this product. It allows our field staff to interact with maximo in a very intuitive and user friendly way. Maximo can be a very complex piece of software. ezmaxmobile simplifies it for the field staff and front line managers.

PROS

this was incredibly easy to set up. It is very intuitive and is simply a better mobile friendly way to interact with Maximo.

CONS

Really not much to not like. If pressed, I'd say it would be nice to be able to have users customize their views/screens without having to push out changes to all that use it (or have to maintain different versions for different users).

Best in Class Mobile Solution

We needed a mobile Maximo solution for our front line mechanics. We looked at numerous solutions out there and EZ Max was by far the best option for us. It had a robust feature set, and allowed for all functionality to work offline and sync when connecetivity was restored.

PROS

The software is stripped down and streamlined for the user that is needing the information. Nothing extra is cluttering up the interface or hiding features behind endless menus.

CONS

The software needs to have a seperate Derby database running on a user account at all times. This can cause issues with restarts if that user account isn't automatically logged in.

Great value, support, and flexibility

PROS

EZMaxMobile comes with a full suite of pre-built applications to interface with Maximo, and allows for fairly straightforward customization if you need to modify an existing application or even create your own. Deployment and overall configuration is relatively easy, and support is very good. Compared to other solutions on the market, Interpro's EZMaxMobile is a great value.

CONS

Some system error messages are quite vague, and logging could use some improvement, but this could just be an issue with how we have deployed the solution.

Maryland Department of Transportation - Maximo EZMaxMobile

MDOT's overall experience with InterPro and the EZMaxMobile product has been extremely positive. InterPro's staff is very knowledgeable of the product and responsive to all of our requests.

PROS

EZMaxMobile is a very easy system to operate and use. Most Smart Phone savvy users require less than an hour training to become familiar with most of the functionality. Administration and security is all housed in the core Maximo System. The only additional effort required for EZMaxMobile is to add the users to an EZMaxMobile Security group. All other security is based on the Core Maximo Security Model. Modifications to the software is also fairly simply and straight forward. InterPro's support is excellent. They are very responsive to any requests and often think outside the box when developing solutions.

CONS

I can't think of anything negative regarding this product.

Easy To Use Mobile Solution

PROS

Easy to use mobile solution. I like the way that it connects with Maximo without a lot of frustration.

CONS

I think it would be nice to be able to access security permissions within EMM. Being able to expose or hide fields. Perhaps I just don't know where to find them.

Great product, Great service

PROS

Easy to use and easy to train. Service is always quick and responsive (but we haven't needed much service - which is a good thing).

CONS

I honestly can't think of anything. Even things that we're looking at for 'future state' are covered.

Ezmax

i would rate the software very high. Our field personnel have deemed this a critical requirement because of its ease of use and simplification of business processes.

PROS

you get business rule configurations for free based on the architecture of EzMax. the online/offline capabilities are key to the use cases of Ezmax in north america with limited connectivity.

CONS

Features perform somewhat differently between plateforms ( IOS and android) as well as between android models. We had to repurchase phones for all field personnel in order to leverage the device. There was not much guidance about the minimum requirements of cell phones models.

Great Features and Support

PROS

The interface is very easy to understand for first-time users, it really takes advantages of the mobile platform you select, the out-of-the-box feature set is great, and anything we have wanted to add InterPro has been able to do.

CONS

It can be a bit tricky to figure out some errors and offline mode is more difficult to get setup.
