Family, friends and business together in one place

I really like the overall experience with WhatsApp. I think it is way better than any other social media out there. I have been using it for a couple of years, and I use it every day on my phone as well as on my laptop. It helps me stay connected with family and friends from different countries, which is great!

PROS

WhatsApp offers voice calling features, video calls, one-to-one private messaging, group messaging, file sharing, and location sharing. In 2011, WhatsApp was a fast-growing social networking service within Europe but has since expanded to provide service in most regions of the world.

CONS

No option to sign out of WhatsApp from your iPhone or iPad. You can set it up so that people can't see when you were last active, but you can't choose to show a timestamp for that at all. The app does have animated stickers, but these can't be used on iPhone XS or XR because they're too big and left-aligned.

Reason for choosing WhatsApp

You can safely send messages on WhatsApp without worrying that anyone else will read what you're saying. We've added end-to -end encryption to every form of communication on WhatsApp, from individual text messages to group chats and voice calls. It powers every message, photo and video sent over the service — no matter where in the world you and the person you're communicating with are located.

Seamless Performance, Always Reliable

Love this app. I can communicate with family, have calls, video chats at long distance. I dont know how we would communicate otherwise.

PROS

I love the simplicity of this app. I've been using Whatsapp for years as an alternative to SMS. There is a lot to say about this app, but I think the constant validation and feedback that it provides is one of it's best aspects. Im constantly on the move, and sometimes I'll be in areas where there is little to no wifi or signal. That doesnt stop me from using whatsapp to communicate, in particular because I know the state of each message when I send it. If I have no wifi, there is an icon that indicates that. If the message was sent, read, or not received, there is an icon for all of this states. Those visual indicators are so important, and something that I see lacking in a lot of other apps. Those indications put me at ease. Of course, we cant forget about encrypted messaging. This is one of the most valuable reasons to use it. I dont like the idea of someone having access to my personal content, so it's given me the security and peace of mind that my stuff stays within the conversation, not outside of it.

CONS

Visually, it's not the most strongest. I think more customization tools for users would be great. Themes are nice, but I think having control of more aspects of the messaging would be great. The green gets a bit dull after a while, and we are social beings, so I know I am looking at that green bubble on a daily basis. Additionally, the bottom navigation could be re-ordered based on importance. I'm constantly selecting the wrong tab, thinking that it's the chats tab (which is located second to last). I think developing a better navigation system that actually prioritizes the parts of the tab section that are most commonly used would be a great addition.

The great WhatsApp revolution!

Excellent! My life became easier, as I live on a remote island, with telecom lines always failing. WhatsApp has come in like a messiah and I am using it for business, meetings, file sharing, and more. My office in my pocket.

PROS

Globally connectible, easy-to-use file sharing, user-friendly interface, excellent global live chat that has erased the dependency on International trunk calls.

CONS

Spam and fake news have found a way into the application, which may be dangerous for the social fabric of the world.

Popular Messenger Service, Free for All!

I use Whatsapp for personal and professional communication. I chat with my families every day. I also chat with my students on weekdays, giving them advice with regard to their school projects, assignments etc.

PROS

Whatsapp provides users with various functionalities: text messaging, voice call and video call. Users also able to send files, images and links to other users. Whatsapp allows users to create groups, making it easy to gather people with similar interests. Whatsapp' quality of service keeps on improving. Its voice and video call functions are now on the top, providing users with clear audio and video connections. Truly, nowadays, people do not need to use conventional short message services or even talk time from telecommunication companies. They only need Whatsapp for their communication needs.

CONS

Whatsapp only provides users with basic knowledge management functions. Users can search and save messages but they can not sort the messages, index them or group them in any meaningful way. While it is easy to use Whatsapp as your social tool, it is hard to use Whatsapp as a project management tool.

Reason for choosing WhatsApp

Whatsapp is more popular in my country. My colleagues are already familiar with Whatsapp. It is easier to use Whatsapp rather than using other app and having to educate my colleagues.

Good communication tool with a huge cost of your privacy

PROS

I like how it is user friendly and allows video calls. Nowadays whatsapp is being used by everyone, replacing the traditional sms system. Its is good for the fact that you can find everyone in there, you just need internet connection and boom, the bridge of communication is build.

CONS

There are many cons in whatsapp as an app. I'm using it only because most of people I know are fanatics about it and keep only that one as a communication tool in their phones. What I dislike mostly about the ap are: 1- you can't use it in your computer if the internet is off on your phone. (Telegram does't have this problem) 2- the way it uses your data and doesn't respect privacy 3- When you delete a message, the other person gets the notification that there has been a deleted message (that can lead to more issues) 4- I consumes a lot of space on your phone. These are some of the main concerns I've had with Whatsapp.

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

Because I've found it very friendly, covering all the flows Whatsapp has and for my opinion is the most cool communication app, including animated stickers, scheduled messages, deleting messages, playing games, etc...

Always recommending overseas to clients & friends.

Brilliant. I love the app. The calls are end-end encrypted which protects the call and feels safe to use internationally which is a massive factor for most of us regardless of use - business or pleasure.

PROS

For work, I travel a lot (mostly international). It never fails to surprise me how so many American citizens don’t use or sometimes, even know about WhatsApp! In the UK, it is widely used and more so than SMS text messaging - regardless of iMessage etc. It used to feel informal but now is used worldwide regardless of its “informalities”. I use this platform for both business and pleasure. I love that I am able to use my British number as part of my WhatsApp connection and change my SIM card to suit the number based on the country I am in. WhatsApp’s feature of “logging into the number” set up is brilliant and because of this I am always recommending to my international connections rather than other messaging platforms of communication (viber for example.) Having the ability to change almost anything to suit your style is fun and flexible including Backgrounds, sizing and WhatsApp group chats. Always helpful for teams, competitions, work based coms and friends!

CONS

I think the app is easy to navigate and if you can’t find a feature or answer, the web/customer services or YouTube always have the answer within the first 3 answers; you will find your answer. WhatsApp has its moments like most app’s - if the network goes down (which is SO rare) I can remember only once or twice this happening over the last 7+ years!

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

The ease of WhatsApp! Viber app had annoying notifications, connections weren’t always strong and most contacts didn’t know enough about the app to place trust within it: WhatsApp is more commonly used and even if someone didn’t have it - somewhere through the grapevine - they’ve heard about it!

You have to try it now

A very integrated program, you only need a phone to be in contact with your customers or friends and family. You can log into it via a computer, and this is also a feature we have needed for a long time.

PROS

Provide text messages, voice calls and video calls. Users can also send files, images and links to other users with high quality and this is very cool. This means that it is several programs in one program. It allows users to create groups, making it easy to gather people with similar interests

CONS

I was facing problems in sending files in high quality to my clients, but that problem was resolved after they provided the feature (sending files), and this made my problems end and I am now very happy

Reason for choosing WhatsApp

Incredibly fast, easy and simplified, it is a truly complete program

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

I had great difficulty using Facebook in terms of sending files due to the nature of my work, as I issue and import files on a daily basis

Great tool for building a close relationship with your client

It solves the issue of separating my business phone number and personal phone number since you can use personal WhatsApp and business WhatsApp at the same time.

PROS

I like that you can use your business phone number so that my client WhatsApp is separate from my personal WhatsApp. It also has auto response when I'm out of the office so the client knows that I could not respond as quickly. You can also set your business hours and status so clients are aware of what is going on with you.

CONS

It still sends you messages even if it's outside your business hours so sometimes you can't help but responds even if you are on a holiday. I also don't like that it always tells me I have duplicate contact when the other contact does not even have a name and the number was just recorded by WhatsApp automatically and you thought you already input your contact so you end up not having the client name on the details. Sometimes, it also says that you already have the contact but when you search it by name, it does not show up.

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

I still use the dial-pad but no longer for messages. I used to use dial pad for business messaging but now, I only use it for calls because WhatsApp is more reliable since a lot of client has WhatsApp

Simple WhatsApp review

Using WhatsApp is free and simple. Connecting with coworkers and personal contacts is easy. The software is quick, trustworthy and dependable. I use it every day to communicate with others through text, video, and photo. Its widespread use speaks for itself!

PROS

The application is free, widely available, trustworthy, and simple to use. Good functionality for an application that is free. Additionally, you may log in from a computer, which is a further convenience. Excellent is the "audio/video call capability". I don't have to worry about making pricey international calls because of the chat. It doesn't use a lot of data. It is incredibly cost-effective to use. The "status" function is fantastic. It enables me to promote my items for free. A wonderful resource for team communication is the "group feature." You quickly communicate with more than a hundred team members!

CONS

I would want to see certain things upgraded. I'll mention two Status: It seems unable to alter my status after a mistake. I would have to remove it and upload something fresh. This may be annoying, especially when I've organized a lot of entries in a specific sequence. Call-in conference. I can see the application's boundaries here. Not usually, the quality is excellent. Furthermore, it cannot be compared to similar goods that offer extra functions to enhance the user experience.

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

WhatsApp has a larger fanbase and is more widely used among people, this caused me to switch, also most people I know use WhatsApp.

It's ok for chatting and keeping touch. Barely more than that.

PROS

Whatsapp is a very useful tool for those who are in the need to keep in touch with partners, clients, or, why not, friends or family. It's really helpful when it comes to people who lives in countries where SMS texts cost fees per sending, because now you can live chat, send pictures, documents, videos, even videocall or call a person or a group of people for free whenever you're connected to a network or wi-fi. It's delivery system is also effective, so now you now when your text has been sent, when the other person has received it, and also, when he/she reads it (as long as those features are on) Calls or videocalls have good quality, and save you many fees on your phone credit. The way you can connect your Instagram profiles and Facebook Pages directly to Whatsapp gives communication a fastest dynamic and easy development.

CONS

As much as you can send files through the app, it has its limitations. So far, you can only send a max of 16mb per file, so it might be kind of trouble speaking of sending corporate files, or specific documents to your work team, clients, etc. Also, its such a pity that the only way you can add people on Whatsapp is through their phone number or QR Code. It'd be a lot easier if you could just have a username as other platforms do. Quality in pictures and videos mainly seems reduced in many cases. So its definitely not the best platform for sharing files.

Popular best messaging and client facing communication app

Overall, this app is brilliant for casual communication or for small business lead collection. I cannot use it for my professional clients as it is not that much capable on desktop app to share big files to client. Its great that they are improving the app to cope up with business needs with payment gateway and APIs for website's livechat.

PROS

I have seen every month updates from WhatsApp and its getting better and better everyday. I am using WhatsApp for business communication and I usually call my clients abroad which might cost me more if done through sim call but whatsapp saved my lots of money and time too. Even with whatsapp I can share my catalogue which I don't need to send everyone as it is available on my profile itself. Also, they have started payment gateway for business and people so that I can get all things needed for my business in one place..

CONS

Lots of time, I needed to send bigger files in zip or sometimes in pdf format but whatsapp don't allow drag drop for files more than 15 mb and even attaching them as document won't work because overall whatsapp restricts file size more than 25 mb. Desktop app make my system hangs many times if make it ideal for sometime. Even on browser based app takes lots of ram if used with chrome.

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

Hike was full of spams and is not a proper communication app or messaging app. I have heard of whatsapp from friends and colleagues and started using it.

Dont say what , say yes

WhatsApp is a top-rated messaging app that has become a staple for users around the world. Its user-friendly interface, reliable performance, and strong security features make it a popular choice for both personal and business use. The app's on-demand communication feature is a powerful tool for businesses that want to provide exceptional customer service, while its file sharing and video support features make it a versatile tool for collaboration and communication. Additionally, WhatsApp's chat messaging and real-time chat features are fast, reliable, and secure, making it a convenient and efficient way to stay connected with friends, family, and colleagues. Despite some drawbacks, such as the need for an internet connection and privacy concerns, WhatsApp remains undeterred in the market due to its widespread use, popularity, and versatility. Overall, WhatsApp is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable and convenient messaging app.

PROS

WhatsApp is a versatile app that can be used for a variety of purposes. Firstly, it's a great way to stay connected with friends and family, allowing users to send messages, make voice and video calls, and share files. Secondly, it's a useful tool for businesses that want to offer customer support or connect with their customers in a more personal way. Thirdly, it's a convenient way to collaborate with colleagues, allowing users to share files and communicate in real-time. Finally, it's a great way to stay informed about news and events, with many organizations using WhatsApp to share updates and information.

CONS

While WhatsApp is a popular messaging app, it does have some drawbacks. Firstly, it requires an internet connection, which can be a problem in areas with poor connectivity. Secondly, it's not always easy to control who can see your profile and contact you, which can be a privacy concern for some users. Thirdly, the app can be a drain on battery life and data usage. Finally, while WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption is a strong security feature, it can also make it difficult for law enforcement to investigate criminal activity.

Reason for choosing WhatsApp

I feel that the whatsapp had, and has more of a social media lifeline as technology gets lightspeed fast, whatsapp seems too have a natural existance during such.

WhatsApp-Most Essential and Basic mode of Communication

I have been using WhatsApp since it has been released and I cannot think of any other applications than WhatsApp for communication. I use it religiously mostly for personal contacts and it works fine for me even internationally. All I need is the good internet connection.

PROS

WhatsApp is an application, which needs no introduction as it runs and available on every mobile phone possible. It makes it extremely easy to communicate from anywhere in the world. You only need access to internet. In also allows voice call and video call but they work best only when you have strong internet connection. The basic texting can work even at a moderate internet speed. I tried using other applications in the market as well but none of them works as better as WhatsApp. I have seen WhatsApp improving their features since they launched. They have features like adding a WhatsApp story as your status and you have so much better control over the privacy and protection settings now. WhatsApp web is also a great option to go for if you are working desktop most of the times and does not have to time to look into your messages on phone. It helps in sharing locations, which is 100% accurate most almost all time except if you are using apple phones. The locations identified with apple maps is just very confusing. You can store and share the contact numbers easily.

CONS

WhatsApp has few restrictions, which should be eliminated next. The ability to share only 30 pictures at once can be time-consuming sometimes when you want to share travel pictures on a family group. In addition, WhatsApp always decreases the quality of the image when sent through this application. The chat back up process can be improved by doing back up at regular intervals instead of doing it manually every time. There is limitation on the size of the file shared through WhatsApp.

A great multiplatform instant messenger

At work, we use a number of groups to coordinate with multiple offices around the globe in a quick and informal manner. It allows sharing of photos and videos for general distribution and fosters a sense of community among the team, even when they are on different continents. It also lends itself well to supporting customers, especially for shorter queries when a simple answer can be quickly typed on a phone. I also use WhatsApp personally and have found it to be my favourite instant messaging app.

PROS

WhatsApp has long been an extremely competent instant messaging app, which improved significantly with the introduction of end-to-end encryption. The UI is simple and clean and it is available on every major platform (and some not-so-major ones). The web and desktop versions work well and are great for typing longer messages or viewing and sharing media. They also help to mitigate the restriction of only having the app itself installed on one device simultaneously. The audio and video calling works well and is relatively economical on data. I have no complaints with the general operation of the app.

CONS

The backup function (very useful!) occasionally hangs and refuses to back up despite the correct settings and a working Internet connection. I believe it may be a security feature, but only being able to use WhatsApp on one device at a time feels limiting and can be frustrating for users with multiple devices. The web and desktop versions work by connecting to your phone and thus don't work if it has no Internet connection. This, I suspect, is for the same reason but it equally frustrating. The yearly 99p subscription disappeared a while ago, but on balance I think I would much rather pay that than have the company be owned by Facebook.

An app that is constantly evolving

Aside from WhatsApp being my main source of communication personally, Whats App is also an essential part of my current job. Clients send information and many will call me through WhatsApp. So on the whole, as it is much more widely used than signal / telegram, it is an essential part of running a business. I have not needed the special business WhatsApp, as this is fine. I appreciate that calls have become a lot clearer (better quality) and more stable than when they first launched the feature. I am able to send images and receive documents and images from clients quickly and without issue.

PROS

I like that it is constantly evolving, they fix bugs very quickly, the app is very stable (unlike LINE which is one of the most unstable communication apps I think I ever used). It has a lot of features. Good call quality. They've introduced video calls ... hence there is now no need for Skype. I like the feature that you can have the app not download the AV automatically (saves memory) (telegram has this too). I like that it also has a "light use" feature for roaming--- very handy. There is also a web app that you can use on your computer if you are busy at work, it can be handy, but I prefer everything on my phone. I also like the search feature - I use this a lot. For example, you may want to find something specific in a conversation so you search for the phrase / word and the conversation will have that phrase highlighted in yellow. Its saved me reading through pages and pages many a time. When you change phones, if you have your app backed up, you will find all the stuff on your new phone. I don't think Signal and telegram do that Lastly you can email yourself an entire conversation if you need to keep a record of it and it can be viewed as a text file. Also handy.

CONS

Poor encryption which allows 3rd parties to access and read your messages. Also, I am unhappy to think that the Facebook company has access to my data and is selling it on / whatever they may do with it. As the majority of people have lost confidence in Facebook, it stands to reason that we would have concerns here. For private conversations, I do not use the app. Unfortunately it is probably the most commonly used app for communication that we are forced to keep using it - it helps that it is good. You can only send an image to 5 people at a time, unless you create a broadcast group - which you don't always want to do because not everything you send needs to go to the same group each time.

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

WhatsApp had better features, more stable, better call quality and was more popular. If you think WhatsApp is security compromised, its nothing compared to viber. I became so concerned that I actually deleted the app off my phone. Better AV handling than Viber I dislike that viber will send notifications to everyone you may have on your contact list, including people you do not want to contact you, that you are "now using viber" its a very annoying feature. Actually telegram has that too.. and I dislike this feature intensely.

Best massaging software for personal and official use

Takes only mobile number to install and run whatsapp , by using this i can easily contact with any person. Need only internet to contact other person, very easy to communicate with my teammates. Easy to share multimedia files and making audio and video calls. Takes low internet to send files and making calls.

PROS

What'sapp provides me chance of sharing images, music, audio, pdf files and other files with my team mates without any hassle. Very easy to send the files and download it. It has super backup system, i can rescue my old file ,if i accidentally deleted it. It consumes very little internet to send massages and multimedia files, unlike similar service provider, as a result we can quickly do our job. Sending audio files through internet to teammates is very effective in whatsapp . Audio and video calls is very clear.

CONS

Needs to have internet all-time to use whatsapp. Other than this what'sapp currently at its best.

Reasons for switching to WhatsApp

What'sapp is free service and easy to use ,with only mobile number anyone can use, calling is very easy as well as sharing other files.

WhatsApp needs one tap to communicate!

My experience with WhatsApp has been incredible over the last years. It made me addicted to its ability to connect me to other people in a matter of seconds , forget about calls and save money on phone bills. It is suitable for different purposes which makes it replace a bunch of other apps. I the app not only in my daily life communications but in my studies and job as the main source of sharing information, and saving all necessary data which can be needed.

PROS

The first thing that comes to mind is the app is simply user friendly. I have never had any difficulty in using it,cause everything depends on one single tap. One tap for voice mail, one tap for call, one tap to send anything. What is the perfect addition to being simple is having a good functionality. You can create groups to interact and share with a lot of people simultaneously. In addition to video calls which in my opinion makes no need to use apps like Skype, they allow you to have group video calls, which is just wonderful! There are lots of other functions which makes this app great in many ways. You have a lot of stickers and emojis for entertainment, search function to safe your time and even desktop version in case if you can not use your phone. To be honest, one of the main pros personally for me is that WhatsApp is constantly evolving. They created a very stable app which is constantly fixing its bugs.

CONS

As for the many users, the main disadvantage for me is trust issue since it is connected to Facebook which has access to the data and we are not sure what they are doing with it. I find it more or less risky for private communications but the fact that it is the most broadly used app in the world makes it difficult to do so. As a minor problem I can emphasize that you are not able to share large files.
