Very frustrating trying to get the apps to work to talk to other staff members without having to put in passwords every time - how does one remember those in a panicky situation! So we have switched this to a different company.
PROSThe concept was good, and we liked the website component so we thought the 2 together would be great.
CONSThe cell phone apps did not work right. We couldn't communicate with eachother during drills or actual incidents because password were difficult.

Great customer service, easy to use
We use it regularly with tip reporting, and less frequently with drills, holds, etc. It's relatively easy to pick up for new staff members.
PROSCatapultEMS staff are always working to improve the software, and it shows. Just in the past two years, there have been some great improvements that make it even easier to navigate/use.
CONSSometimes the app can be slow for users during drills when everyone is on their cell phone accounting for students. This is a limitation of anything using cellular data/wifi.

Fantastic Tool for schools
I honestly felt the first time the site safety team came together via a zoom meeting with our introduction to this program, I felt it was rushed and we were unable to get a firm grip of it. I understand many factors were at play along with a strict time-line but I think it presented a bad taste at first for many of the newcomers. Other than that, everyone that I have come into contact with have been amazing and extremely helpful. We are still learning our way to become extremely proficient, but we will get there.
PROSWe wanted a software program that allows communication between EMS, Police, Fire, with the Administration and potentially the teachers themselves all the while taking accountability of the whole student body and their present locations. This program does just that. Getting used to this type of communication with up to 150 people is a bit difficult and with time, we are getting used to it and maneuver quickly, but just like everything else that is new, it just takes time to become well versed applying it. This is an extremely useful tool and I sincerely hope to never have to use outside of a drill. If the unlikely event ever happens, I am extremely thankful we have this.
CONSThe features are so compact when using it on the phone and the map should be able to expand in some way other than inside that little box.

The program was the closest to what the District wanted with a price point that was the cherry on top.

#1 Product for Safety in Education
10/10 all around. Especially their customer service!
PROSFor me, I use it the the "back of the house" and the simple fact that it can be at your finger tips when an emergency or drill happens on a school campus is the best win for us!
CONSThe con for us is not the actual product, but the end user, some of our teachers still have not tried to use it and its hard because its "new tech" so older generation have a hard time wanting to move away from radios and paper.

User friendly EMS
Overall the years that we have been using Catapult I have been so impressed with their customer service and how quickly they act to implement needed changes. It is top quality service for an affordable price.
PROSAs a trainer, I appreciated how user-friendly the software was. Even the lowest level tech employee was able to learn and use the system as intended.
CONSIn the early stages, we had the system crash when we really needed it. Thankfully, Catapult was super responsive and they figured out the problem and fixed it, we haven't had that issue since!

CatapultEMS Web Design
I like that you can save portions of a page and hide them without having to type in code to hide it. So you could activate it when needed and hide it when it "expires". The ease of adding alt text to images.
CONSIt is confusing at first. You really need training to get started. I design websites and was confused. Once I had a little training, it became easier. If you have multiple sites you have to figure out which one you need to get into it.

A very valuable tool which is highly supported.
It has allowed us to upgrade our Emergency response to be more efficient in getting the word out to all members of our community quickly and effectively.
PROSThe items that I like most about this software are that it allows you log in via your google log in which makes it easier, it has excellent customer support in that they will respond very quickly to any needs including onsite training. They will respond to any alerts and make sure that everything is okay. In addition, it is valuable that we have the ability to connect with 1st responders. They will work with your current SIS to get everyone into the system and then will be able to provide for you class lists during anytime of the day helping you to account for students. There is a central map to locate where everyone is at when they check in.
CONSThe struggles with the software are that it is still relatively new so there are a few bugs that they are working out. When we started it was a challenge making sure that the data was properly recorded from the SIS. When we first engaged the software we though there would be more templates related to the emergency information that needs to be provided in the system. There is some and it is helpful but there was the hope that there would be more resources available. The fact that very few First Responders are aware of the software makes it more challenging to make the connections necessary to make it work to its optimum.

CatapultEMS
We have confidence that our staff will receive alerts and emergency messages in a very timely manner without lag. Our staff has learned easily to log in and account for themselves and students. The tip/bullying/alert piece for anonymous reporting works very well for communications between staff and both students and/or parents.
PROSThis is very useful for informing a large group of people of special alerts or emergencies. It's great to get them both on your phone and your computer.
CONSIt's quite a task to train new users every year, but that would likely be the same with all. We do wish that there was a direct messaging option rather than sending a link. Finally, we wish that we could remain logged into the ap on the phone as logging in takes additional time. The classroom lists are difficult to maintain as up-to-date throughout the year.

Very good.

Getting Started
We hope to not ever have to use the system, but want to be ready if needed. We plan on doing table top drills, then live drills this coming year using the system

Decent product, lousy integration
End users are able to use the software just fine.
CONSIntegration with other Catapult products is poor to non-existent. We have to have separate uploads to put users into each product.

Quick & Easy Mass Communication
They have excellent customer service. On a scale of 1 to 10, their customer service is an 11. If ever I need help, they are quick to respond and resolve.
PROSIt is easy to use and part of their larger suite of products offered. I've used other systems that need a lot more training and aren't as user-friendly.
CONSCompared to the antiquated app that we used before, I can't think of anything that needs improvement right now. I'm still also fairly new at using this.

It makes it easy to get the notifications of an emergency out to all of the staff.
CONSIt would be nice if the program pulled information from our SIS to know which students are already marked absent that day.

One system
We loved everything about Catapult, especially the way in which they helped us streamline all our safety procedures. Before we had a binder, green and red cards, walkies, announcements, and tons of emails when we did safety drills. Now it's in one system!
PROSThe most impactful feature is communication between the safety team and the rest of the staff. We can send quick messages and updates. Catapult was easily integrated with our student information system and the self-paced tutorials were easy to navigate and understand.
CONSWe love everything about his product and honestly can't think of how to improve it at this time.

Esay Setup/Easy to Use
I think overall we have had a positive experience. The Catapult staff were great to deal with and they tried to answer all of our questions. I like this product better than others we have had as is it easy to use both on the Technical side and the User side. The data integration alone was top notch and much easier to work with than other companies.
PROSCatapultEMS is very easy to use from a user stand point. It was also pretty easy to setup on the technical side of things. As the technical person for our facility I really appreciated how flexible their data import process was.
CONSNone of us were a fan of the training. It was boring and long. It could be scaled down a bit as some of the items seemed repetitive. We are also sent the wrong training for staff so that caused a lot of confusion.
