I switched to Digital Ocean from AWS after a long and considered research phase. The problems I wanted to avoid were.

What's more, DigitalOcean's articles and guides are superb and have helped me set things up with ease, time and again.

Digital Ocean is unbeatable on cost and ease of use for an IAAS. Managing droplets is intuitive and as simple as you can hope for.

You are charged for disabled instances, you would think charges would only be for instances that are actually in use.

Everything is in the right place and the web panel is very user friendly. Pricing for newly created servers is very clear and fair.

The ease of setting up and deploying applications to digital ocean is what makes me love everything about the infrastructure.

The droplets are amazing if your company is scaling up. With Just a single click you can scale up you storage and/or memory.

Digital Ocean offers a lot of services out of the box, making it super easy to use for our company as a startup trying to validate our products.

We faced few issues on email services. The service currently does not support email services thefore there is a need to connect the product with external services.

It is easy to use, the pricing schemes are transparent, the UI is a pleasure to work with.

Things that I don't like about DigitalOcean are.

The control panel is extremely user friendly and the pricing is also affordable. The performance of the basic droplets are note worthy and value for money.

Difficult to get performance without just paying more. With Digital Ocean, all of the above points were hit, and I feel totally control of my company's digital infrastructure.

It is the perfect platform for developing and distributing apps because to its user-friendly UI and strong API.

Many apps available with 1-click installation that help you run your business perfectly. Very easy to use even if you are not technical you can follow with their provided documentation.

We are really pleased with Digital Ocean - its the hosting solution for the pros and their ethical support is second to none.

I am overall extremely satisfied with DigitalOcean, but like every company - I think there are some core features they can (and should) improve.

The main drawing factor to DO from another provider was their feature set. They are continually rolling out new functions with great features at amazing price points.

Its really easy to use and it has huge amount of features. You can easily control your droplets and administrate everything as you want.

Some of the features are little bit hard to use and understand. Sometimes digitalocean has some problems with some types of bank cards.

Along with great guides, DO has provided me and my clients with a growing list of tools to be more productive.

The service is always reliable and also their customer support team is super helpful.

The software comes with a free one year subscription if you have github pro which is insanely good and the power and speed the virtual machines have i think no other machines have in the world.

That is cheap and has great community support.

Awesome to be able to utilize resources in the cloud and a really good provider that has excellent support to give.

The clean User Interface of their website make a great experience. Combined with the fact that a simple server can be quickly deployed with the help of droplets makes DigitalOcean an easy choice.

I have tried different VPS solutions, looking for a reliable, easy to use and cost effective solution for my web apps and websites.

Very powerful web hosting, extremely kind and supportive ethos (Digital Ocean were kind enough to support our community project with additional credits).

Great UI - you can do everything in the browser without using CLI - create new web servers, managed databases, bucket storage. API matches Amazon S3 - familiar methods of interacting with resources.

Linode allows you to install a number of Linux distributions, so you can tailor that depending on what you want and are used to. Have been using Linode for several years have found it very reliable.

Linode - an excellent product that is reasonably priced and very very reliable.

I try new manager DbaaS, and is very powerful. Certainly now with Akamai partnership, this product will have a boost.

Very easy to start with the services. Best support from the team in the market.

Comparing to AWS the aspect that struck me most is the ease of configuration of the infrastructure and the very intuitive user interface.

Linode is an excellent cloud virtual private server provider.

Support from the community, Linode team, and the YouTube videos they put up. I can always afford Linode and keep track of my plan and costs easily.

The only caveat of VPS hosting at Linode I can think of is that you need to pay for backups separately and these backups only go back 14 days.

My overall experience with Linode has been great.

It was fairly cheap for a decent server and they upgraded our small little server along the line keeping the old price. The support was also pretty good, quite fast and qualified.

Linode is a better alternative for any project infrastructure. From common apps to complex websites hosting, Linode does well at it.

I've had excellent experience with the product and with the customer service. I've been able to  easily manage a large number of servers and easily rescue a few when the need arose.

The old UI was a bit ugly, the new one still lacked a few features like bill list, otherwise it was usable.

Limited services are available at least for now. Difficult to integrate with other cloud providers and services.

They have also never raised the price in those years, it has remained constant. I like everything with it, Linode Manager and Longview are all excellent products to help you manage your servers.
