Meets the Needs and Then Some
The most significant benefit for us was the accessibility via the API. While the web management console is easy to use our deployment depends on custom integration services. The documented API is easy to use and the provided SDK's worked great.
CONSZello is driving a lot of advancements with their applications, but one area forgotten about is the dedicated radio support. We rely heavily on physical radios from Telo, and some features sometimes don't work or are hard to enable. While we provide feedback on what we would like to see, we have no visibility if there is any traction on the suggestions.

Optimizing communication in Denmark's largest retailer
Our end-users are happy. Our customers gets help faster in our stores, so they are happy too.And from a IT perspective we have zero downtime, and great management features. And there are still new features coming. All in all, a very good experience!
PROSThe management console is the key feature for us in IT. It makes our work easier. The up-time is also a something I feel is worth mention. Not yet did we have any issue on the front. And at last the efficient/fast communication
CONSIt's hard to point out something. A lot of times the issues we have or the request we have is fixed. I think the only feature we're missing now is the option for display names in channels. That gives the option for more and better integration with MDM solutions without leaving the end-user with weird channel names.

Very good and very convient and good replacement for those old FM receiver.
PROSThe tool is embedded in TrackIT from Command Alkon and it's using on single sign in for drivers.
CONSZello Standalone is having more functionality than the one with TrackIT sandly.

Great and Easy to Use... When it has a solid connection
Features and ease of use are great, but improvement needed in connection quality.
PROSI enjoyed being able to instantly communicate with my team in the plant and to either talk or send messages.
CONSIt's connection is very spotty and I'm not sure how to silence my phone EXCEPT for Zello, instructions on that would be great. But unfortunately, because it disconnects a lot, I sometimes miss messages or cannot send them.

Zello beats all the competitors
We had part of our fleet using UHF radio. The rest of the country had nothing so we tested Zello out. Everyone loved it and we instantly realised that we could run despatch for the whole country from head office. We ripped out the UHF infrastructure and have never looked back.
PROSSo easy to deploy and train new users. On-boarding is complete. The technology works extremely well and can be customised to a large extent. We've even taken to using the API to integrate Zello into our own app.
CONSUsers expect it to work exactly like a radio. More of a comment about humans than Zello.
Reason for choosing Zello
To be fair, we were already invested in Zello before we evaluated the other product. In the end we stuck with it for two reasons - progression already achieved in roll out and it was cheaper
Reasons for switching to Zello
Far superiour product. Our operators spend half their time not in the cabin near a radio so having access to the message at their own pace has been a game changer.
