It does not prevent you from doing the wrong things until it is too late.

It feels clunky and old. When it is run over Citrix, it is barely usable due to lagging.

Consistent manufacturing execution through standardized process plans. Quality of product improvements through integration of lean and SPC tools into the execution system.

The software itself is wonderful. I would highly recommend it to business that need an electronic Work Instructions software.

It is easily customizable and user friendly. It works well in a large manufacturing environment.

Several Solumina quirks like pop open windows getting smaller in size or text disappears or arrows move for no reason, ETC. Nothing to make me mad just annoyed.

It can be very clunky and is not easily customized. There are random errors that can occur which is very frustrating, especially since the warning message you receive is not helpful in any way.

We lost internet connection and people had to wait until it came back up. It's slower to buy off than paper is.

Ability to track as built history and have Quality integrated into it. Great for complex lower volume assembly.

There is much to much wasted  time  navigating  through the system, there is a lot of having to go back and forth to get done what you have to get done.

You have to pay for custom reports. You never know what information you need to data mine so it is constantly changing but you can't create your own reports based on your needs.

Controlling information exchange/view to appropriate users is also straightforward. Having the ability to establish sign-off criteria within each particular work order is also excellent.

It has great features to help with your day to day process.

The multiple layers of connections leaves us with a lot of slow responses and forced logouts.

Good software for storage, retrieval, and linking important docs necessary to support quality.

There is not a lot of responsiveness in providing missing features to the suite of tools as they are identified.

Data model and functionality are good and it is particularly useful for Aerospace industries.

The software captures the needs of production while maintaining good quality. We are currently using the quality module and looking to implement the MES soon.

The traceability of paperwork was much better than paper. Also writing an alteration is easier than paper procedures.

There are missing bits of functionality that are incongruous with the software audience in their absence.

Aside from being paperless for the most part, the ability to quickly find data is the greatest benefit.

Good training options, support response if fairly quick. Once you learn to 'think like IFS' navigation is pretty easy.

The IFS company will not repair shortcomings of the software unless be pay them a hansom sum.

We like the flexibility as well as the stability.

The product is very user-friendly, and having loads of feature for power sectors. The most important thing is that it is easy to customize and easy to learn for users.

The most trouble I had is searching for past data.

I don't know if IFS was the right choice when we selected an ERP, but after the time and money invested it is what we're 'stuck' with.

It runs great for end-users, lean process, best technology and a powerful CRM and MRP.

Handling of bugs by IFS is not customer friendly, and even if they admit that there is a design mistake in their software it will be unlikely for them to solve it.

Often bad advice is received, where the IFS consultants don't even know how their own system works. This ends up in our company investigating and testing ourselves how some functionalities work.

Like many ERPs, the user interface has lots of things that users will ignore or IT has to hide. If you have a weird process that isn't the norm in the industry, it will take more work to implement it.

Open database structure. Ease of interface and integration.

Nothing is easily updated or changed and options in a drop down (or list of values) cannot ever be archived. No workflows exist in the system and permissions setup is a complete nightmare.

The main thing to look at is the cost of the product, which is very good, provided with the features in this ERP.

IFS support has been great to work with. When we have worked with R&D, it's obvious that they care about the customer.

There are not much cons but sometimes generating a report takes some time and if there is a slight connection lost, it becomes too slow and there is no stop/execute button to stop the action.

But the best thing about it is ceasing to use it for the day.

The English used in the package at times is difficult to follow/understand.

It is a solid system with a very powerful functionality and can be tailored to fit to almost any business environment.

As set up at this company, the user interface is appallingly hard to use and frequently generates incomprehensible error messages.

Another big disadvantage is the lack of a large online, open community.

This solution really brought us some challenges but opportunities as well, we are currently evaluating its permanence in the company, so far so good.

User Friendly, When help is needed they are available.

Overall, IFS is a powerful system with a great deal of functionality. It is fairly easy to use, and to customize to specific company and user requirements.
