Providers can easily access all needed applications
Providers have easy access to their info
PROSThe providers enjoy being able to access everything within the application itself. They do not have to jump around to find what they need. If they have multiple locations, still lets them access patients from other areas.
CONSThe application can be difficult to learn on the back end. The end user could notice possible maintenance issues due to this.

Decent but can be complicated
I overall could deal with the program and its quirks. It is a decent program. But there are probably better ones on the market.
PROSWas great for the mental health side. Had comprehensive assessments, releases and forms could be built into the system to look how you wanted them. Customer service was fast if ever there was a problem the superusers.
CONSBut the version of the program we had was so old that it did not work for all of the department. Would have preferred something that was behavioral health overall so that substance abuse could be included.

It has been really helpful to have this program in my practice.
It is nice to be able to customize it to the specific needs of our practice. It is not hard to make changes either.
CONSI think the look could be less cluttered, but overall I don't mind it once I got used to the program.

Poor functionality, needs serious launch of technology into this century
There are glimmers of hope with this software - but it falls short of following through to meet the needs of interfacing through to be meaningful to the end users on the hospital and lab side of things, and then back to ambulatory - it must come full circle and it does not.
CONSNeeds technology boost - needs far greater functionality, ease of use, less mouse clicks, windows to visit, less drop down lists - make it as easy to use for each step along the way as possible please - not hunt and peck but auto fill and intuitive and proactive please

Poor support, features and functionality for physicians and therapists
I wrote a review before. Just after trying many times I was told by the IT staff that this software requires you to write controlled substances every time as a new prescription, something that is a basic feature of all programs I use in other places. It's a waste of time, more so when you're busy with patients. It's another reason why I think this program is poor value for your money. That and the fact the support is always lacking and taking forever to fix problems. Just in this last month, the system has broken down an average twice a week. Often we're unable to write prescriptions or write progress notes for many hours while patients are coming to the clinic. I see the IT staff in the clinic trying to resolve the problems but usually takes them often hours or even a day to fix the problem, only to have a different one next week.
PROSI was told it helps with billing and attendance reports, so I assume it's the main reason somebody buys it. For the rest of the staff is an ongoing disaster.
CONSPoor features, no intuitive and takes many steps to do basic chores.

Cerner
Overall Cerner is a good product for a smaller healthcare organization.
PROSCerner is easy to use and is great for clinic based practices. The learning curve is relatively simplistic and straightforward.
CONSCerners cons are related to it is not always perfect for a speciality clinic. Also, at times it does not integrate with other health systems.

Cerner needs help
Cerner needs to spend money and update their system
PROSThere is a patient monitor which allows in line sorting and prioritize column placement per user with right click funtionality
CONSThere is absolutely no custom reporting and the canned reports are not sufficient. All forms have to be printed on expensive forms instead of rendering in lines forms printable to pdf

Easy to use and up-to-date look
I like the view of this software. The colors look up to date and it is easy to navigate around within the system.
CONSI don't like the payment processing part but with experience it is not too hard to navigate through.

Cerner has simplified the patient admin process, however the program frequently freezes.
Centralized location for patient documents, it is easy to use, able to see multiple schedules at once.
CONSThe program will frequently freeze if I'm clicking through icons quickly and it causes the entire system to have to reboot.

I'm not sure about the front end but I work on the claims and Cerner has proven to be very useful to me and makes life a little easier when it comes to working with several doctors.
It gives me easy access to work with more than one doctor at a time which makes my life much easier.
CONSThere are some offices I actually have to log out of and sign back on differently to use the program. This can be frustrating.

My colleagues use it to manage patients in their clinics
PROSthis is an electronic medical record type of software often used in the outpatient setting and has useful features
CONSNot so popular at big institutions but very popular in small to medium sized centers because of the lower costs
