GolfStatus - your website services and support staff ROCK!

We have nothing but fantastic things to say about GolfStatus and all of the staff we have had the privilege of working with. Overall, they make sure you are taken care of and feel like a top priority to them. I cannot recommend them enough!

PROS

4 key points for us about this software: 1) The customer service is on point for GolfStatus. I think any question we have had has been answered within a 10 minute window and the staff has went above and beyond to make sure we understand things and are taken care of. 2) The appearance of the website: the interface is clean and direct. It's pretty simple to understand for users (and once you get the hang of it, the back end is pretty good as well!) 3) Setting things up: This is made easy for almost anyone to do. We love the features! 4) Payment: The site being tied to Stripe has made our lives so much easier! I cannot begin to talk about how many hours the website has saved us as a team in organizing the event.

CONS

There really are no big cons we can think of. If I was nitpicking it all, I would say there are some reports that could be easier to pull / run for the event -but that's really nitpicking at it.

Alleviate Your Admin Duties with GS!

Overall experience was top-notch! The customer support as an admin was very hands-on as we prepped for our first event using GS. I loved that printouts were available already on how to use the app for scorekeeping. It made it easy for us to "sell" our participants on using the app over a paper scorecard.

PROS

I like that it's a one-stop shop with respect to scorekeeping and registration. Some sponsored items were easily ordered with GS's help, but I would appreciate even more involvement in this aspect of event planning. One of the major headaches I experience is ordering sponsored items off of 3rd party sites, proofing artwork, ensuring timely production and delivery, fronting the money, and requesting reimbursement from the sponsor. Lots of coordination! I appreciated the experience we had with GS and our pin flag sponsor, for example. Once the sponsorship slot was filled, all that was needed was the logo and payment to cover the expense. GS took care of the rest (thank you!).

CONS

As a person crunching the numbers and keeping tabs on all of our donors/contributions, it would be helpful if there was a download that has a comprehensive list of all participants (regardless of their classification) to see how are proceeds were derived from. Even having 1 tab on a download contain contact names, email addresses, package(s) purchased, and purchase amounts would have saved me some time grabbing information from different sources.

Reason for choosing GolfStatus

BPT is more of a means to collect sales on an event. As far as I know, it doesn't have the capabilities of interacting with participants other than accepting credit card payments. GS has 2 functions in my eyes -- a merchant processing platform and a scoring platform.

Reasons for switching to GolfStatus

Our golf committee was attempting to make back-of-the-house responsibilities more streamlined, which I think was mostly accomplished with GS.

A Huge Help To Our Event And Our Cause

Great software and tool, OUTSTANDING customer care/support. I've used other tools and pulled together my own tools (Constant Contact, Paypal, MailChimp...), GolfStatus made my life so much easier. I am a fan and loyal customer for life. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was an outstanding liaison from an account perspective and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was always there when we needed him for administrative/website support. Really impressed with the tool, but LOVED the support from start to finish.

PROS

The software was easy to use as the administrator and easy to use for our golfers and donors. Not complicated.

CONS

I would like to get the sponsors more "eyeball space", perhaps on the front page. I know the Tech Sponsor is a big deal for GolfStatus, but I don't like that we have to go to a separate tab to see the sponsors.I also would like to be able to load my marketing list and create an outreach tool via GolfStatus - I use Mailchimp, I'd rather get rid of that and have it all integrated into the same platform.

Reasons for switching to GolfStatus

GolfStatus is a really robust/integrated tool (I'd like to have it also replace my use of Mailchimp for outreach) and the fact that they handle all the back-office integration and front-end website work is just fantastic. Very easy to use!

Makes the impossible possible

I don't know the firt thing about golf tournaments and GolfStatus makes it possible to run a successful event. The website is super user friendly and literally does it all for you. We've used GolfStatus for our event for the last two years and it's been wonderful!

PROS

First, the customer service is outstanding. Any question or problem I have, they help quickly and efficiently. I love that it's a one stop shop - register for a team, purchase add ons, sign up as a sponsor. I love the ability to look at payout reports. The options of how to view and download the data is great.

CONS

Sponsors are asked up upload their images but they aren't high enough quality to use for signage. This means we have to ask for another logo from our sponsors. There is also no good way to download the images from GolfStatus. Last year we had the complaint that the website didn't work properly with browsers other than Chrome. As a Chrome user, I didn't notice and I don't believe we had complaints this year, but I wanted to note it in case it still needs addressed.

Using Formstack meant I had to create all the forms from scratch. GolfStatus was plug and play, flawless!

Fundraising? Look no further!

What used to take hours of data mining in excel is now painless and available in one easy to use website. We will now be able to communicate with our golfers and export contact lists directly from golf status allowing us to eliminate so many steps. Golf Status believes in giving back. The non-profit side is incredible. We were able to receive our tournament income right away with no fees on the back end. Overall a great experience.

PROS

I loved the ease of use and the responsive team members at Golf Status. They helped us prepare the website and get communication out to our golfers and sponsors. Included with the app are branded and team specific cart signs, score cards, alpha lists, and so much more. On tournament day I felt more prepared than I ever had in my 5 years of planning this tournament.

CONS

I would love the ability to export reports in a variety of file formats. We also learned that flighting should take place prior to the tournament going live. This was a first year mistake, but it didn't impact play or the overall outcome of the tournament. We were able to recover and get prizes and flight info out still in minutes.

Reasons for switching to GolfStatus

Last year, Eventbrite charged us hundreds of dollars to obtain the money collected for our charity tournament. It was time to look for something that supported our mission.

Great for Small Non-Profits New to the Golf Fundraising Sphere

Very impressed with customer service I received from [SENSITIVE CONTENT], he was patient and helped me alot with this first year tournament we threw. I think its a great platform to keep all your event information in one place.

PROS

Ability to keep all tournament sponsorship, registration and donations in one place, easy to download and print out reporting, clean and easy to read registration page, excellent customer service

CONS

back end is a bit challenging for a first time user, alot of different sections to navigate on back end, wish push notification was more developed and also that we were informed from the start that you cannot use with other live scoring software (best to check with golf course first)

Love GolfStatus!

Wonderful! Thank you for providing excellence service at a very low cost. It's so helpful for non-profit organizations like ours.

PROS

GolfStatus has made executing our charity golf tournament so much easier! Pros: Quick customer service and assistance when needed. Also like the "donate" button on the website; we used this as a QR code for our Raise the Paddle during our dinner and we raised over $6,000 using it!

CONS

Resizing company logos; however, it has improved a lot from last year, which I appreciate!

Great Software to steam line golf tournament planning

The biggest problem GolfStatus solved was automating the registration and payment process. It helped make that a lot less manual and alleviate the stress of chasing payments. It also made the event a lot more professional in my opinion.

PROS

The best features of the website were being able to register and pay online easily and be able to track teams, sponsorships, etc. I really liked the reports that were easy to generate such as scorecards, cart signs, player lists and more that saved me time on the back end. It was a nice feature to have the ability to pass on processing fees to participants so it does not take away from money for the fundraiser. I also cannot say enough about the customer service. Every time I had a question my account manager (Paul) promptly got back to me and was very helpful. In our post-event follow up, I shared by feedback and ideas to enhance the website further and it seemed like a lot of my ideas were already in the works so GolfStatus is constantly looking to improve and add new features such as invoicing, easier logo uploading, etc. that will make this an even better product in the future.

CONS

I wish there was a section I could add notes such as "paid by check, comping tee-sign, etc." I think some of the challenges for me was that there were still a good amount of people that wanted to pay check so I had to manage two systems (GolfStatus and a Google spreadsheet) which was time consuming. With the ability to send invoices in the future, hopefully that will be solved. I would like to see a tab where you are able to manage tee-signs in the future (i.e. company name, logo received, sign created, etc.)

Make Planning and Running Your Golf Fundraiser Hassle Free

Excellent from start to finish. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and team delivered in every way from the first demo, to having a useable live registration page up and running in short order. Every question along the way was answered in a very timely manner. Can't imagine a better experience especially given this was the first fundraiser golf event I've ever run.

PROS

GolfStatus platform is exactly as advertised. It takes the challenging, behind the scenes planning, tracking, and fundraising (and collecting!) and makes it a simple, significantly less stressful process. The technology itself, for me as an ADMIN, for the Golf Professional the "day of", and the end user agreeing to play and support, is very simple, intuitive, and user friendly.

CONS

First time user and frankly can't come up with anything to "improve" it!

If you are responsible for running a golf event, big or small, do yourself a favor and make it run smoothly with the GolfStatus engine!

Million Meal Movement

The overall experience has been great. I will no longer be part of the Golf Outing Committee next year, but I believe our organization will continue with it.

PROS

Makes managing a golf outing easy!

Overall, I feel lucky to have found this platform when I first started our annual outing. I had never run a golf outing and am not a golfer, so this make it really easy.

PROS

I like that it is structured specifically for golf outings and gives you all of the tools and reports you need to be organized and professional. I always get comments on how well our outings are run and Golf Status plays a huge part in that.

CONS

I would like the option to list sponsors according to their sponsorship level. It just groups them all together and doesn't allow us to recognize the different levels.

Golf Outing and Fundraising Software at its Best!

PROS

We love using GolfStatus for our annual Purpose Driven Golf Day and Fundraiser. It's easy to set up, the costs are affordable, service and help are great, and the scoring app saves us tons of time at the event.

CONS

Features that could be improved are the email communications from the software. Limited number of characters allowed needs to be increased.

Louisville & Cincinnati ASHRAE Golf Outings

PROS

Golfstatus makes setting up a fundraiser event so easy. From booking teams & sponsors, to keeping score on the day of the event. [sensitive content hidden] was a great help for our events this year. We have raised more money for ASHRAE research in the last 3-4 years than we ever have. It is because of Golfstatus and the Client Success Specialists like [sensitive content hidden]. Thanks.

CONS

Not really a con on Golfstatus. I have used Golfstatus for the Louisville fundraiser for 4 years now, and I finally got the Cincinnati Board onto it this year. It was a great success for both events. Crazy it took me 3 years to get Cincinnati on board.

When I took on the event, I wasn't going to be able to keep track of everything without a source.

There is Nothing Bad to Say

10/10 would recommend. In fact, I've already been recommending the team at GolfStatus when my peers bring up their own golf tournaments.

PROS

Literally everything. This software so efficient and versatile and we are incredibly glad we had the support of [SENSITIVE CONTENT], our customer success specialist. He was responsive, effective, clear, and very insightful about functions of the software as well as tips and tricks for our tournament. Things wouldn't have been nearly as seamless without Golf Status. We're really glad we made this choice for our non-profit tournament.

CONS

There were some common sense functions that aren't available, like how to manage single player assignments, but while they weren't available for us this time, they are on the roadmap for the product team. These issues were also super easily resolved by reaching out to the chat team at GolfStatus when something came up, so I wouldn't really consider it a "con" in the end.

PROS

Using the GolfStatus software system made our event easy to manage. It brought our old paper registration system into the 21st century. I also appreciated the immediate customer support via the chat. I always received help within 5 minutes of requests for support.

CONS

My first key piece to my Holy Golf Trinity!!!

PROS

I LOVED everything about GolfStatus from the easy to navigate menu bar, to the live scoring app, having everything all in one place, easy and simple registration for my sponsors, the amazing cart signs and scorecards and most importantly my support team [sensitive content hidden] who were exceptional and always there to help when my brain would get overwhelmed and they jumped in to help me right away. Their support made my experience with GolfStatus my most favorite part of it all.

CONS

The only feature I would have liked to see when it came to the scorecards is if I could add verbiage to them to include where we had our contest hole's at.

Easy to use for the non-golfer

Once you understand how the program works, it was very easy to work with!!!

It is geared for Golf games, when there is additional games of various types (tennis, footgolf, pickleball) it only manages ticket purchasing.

User Friendly Platform for Event & Fundraising Management

We used the GolfStatus platform to help us manage our first annual golf fundraising event for our nonprofit organization. The ease for our sponsors, donors, and golfers to use this platform was remarkable. The staff support we received from beginning to end was exceptional! The communication from [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was over and beyond helpful in planning our event. We plan to use this platform again for our next fundraising event!

PROS

We were able to manage our first annual golf fundraising event for our nonprofit organization using the GolfStatus platform. The ease for our sponsors, donors, and golfers to use this platform was remarkable.

CONS

The only thing we can think of is that we had a couple of golfers who wanted to pay by check at our event and we were not able to add a single player to the platform. We could add a 4some team but not a single player. This was not an issue at all though.

First Time User Review

I had a very pleasant first tournament experience with GolfStatus.

PROS

GolfStatus professionalized the registration processes for our golf tournament and provided attractive sponsorship options that brought in more dollars for our tournament.

CONS

On the tournament management side, some pieces still needed improvement to manage our 3 amateurs to 1 pro format (seemed still more suited to captain's choice format), though the GolfStatus team was available to assist the day-of to ensure success.

GolfStatus works for you!

Having used the program for the past 3 years has allowed me to streamline the time needed for setup and running the tournament. I like how the registrants are added to the website, so everyone can see who's playing. I'm extremely pleased with the program and will continue using it in the future.

PROS

The client service is exceptional. Whenever I had a question, I could start a chat. The response time and answers were delivered quickly. As we considered other promotions, they also provided valuable feedback. These guys were great.

CONS

It would be helpful to have the ability to give more promotion to those sponsors who donate more to the cause. Limiting it to just one could be improved.
