Efficient, makes my life and job easier, wonderful customer service!

PROS

The customer service is incredible, I can always get an answer to a question within a couple hours. This app has helped me stay organized when it comes to tracking community service. I have student-athletes asking me everyday how many hours they have or what else they can do to earn more hours. This is the perfect application for that, because it posts opportunities, but also organizes everything for you.

CONS

Honestly, I have no complaints. Because if I had them, I would call Helper Helper and they would take my complaints into consideration and change it or talk me through issue I'm having.

It is extremely easy to input events and the communication of the events is very clear to the students. The logging and tracking of hours is extremely freeing from an admin perspective.

CONS

I wish the onboard process was easier and there was a way for geofencing.

Great Organizational Tool

Our overall experience with Helper Helper has been very good. The best part about Helper Helper is its tracking and reporting ability and the fact that it can be used to compile data on the group. The other upside to Helper Helper is their team- I can always get in touch with someone to help me use the product more effectively or have questions answered.

PROS

Helper Helper has allowed us to organize our students in a way that they feel informed, empowered, and equipped to volunteer in our community with minimal confusion. It is relatively user friendly and allows the administrator to back-log any volunteer hours that students completed but forgot to log on their own. It also has a strong report feature that helps the administrator compile statistics for an individual, a team, or the group as a whole.

CONS

The on-boarding process is still difficult with students and many of them rely on the administrator to back log hours for themselves or their team.

The Helper Helper employees were the deciding factor for re-purchasing and continued use of Helper Helper. Without them, it is just another organizational platform; however the staff is so helpful and prompt that you feel like you have resources at the tip of your fingers.

C. Africano - Student-Athlete Development at TCU

Overall I have absolutely loved it. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] are so incredibly helpful. They actually have taken a few of my suggestions in the last year and adapted it to the system which has been a huge help. It has saved use time and streamlined out system of tracking and planning immensely. Over time, I hope coaches will begin to use it in the way it was meant to be used (checking their students progress themselves). But I think over time that will get better. Even so, I can find a student-athlete and immediately provide their coach with a report of their team. That is incredibly helpful.

PROS

I love that I can track reports without relying on human error to do so. I used to track all of our events by hand, but now I have the ability to track attendance, create opportunities, schedule with various groups, and create individual, team, and university wide reporting.

CONS

I think there are a few things that would help it. For example, we use HH for all of our programs. I wish I could navigate the system to where I could edit each programs tracking system. Such as for a career program, they get credit for attendance but not in a time increment. Then I could track service with time increments. That way when I generate a report, I won't need to edit anything. We also do an event called Frog Cup - they are required to attend 4 events and 10 hours of service. But I can't make that a base report level. I also struggled a bit with the categories and counting things twice. But not a big deal.

We appreciate all of the data that allows us to CELEBRATE the POSITIVE IMPACT our student-athletes are making within the community! In addition, we truly appreciate the quick response and problem solving customer service! Last but not least, the community impact report Is a game changer in the area of Psychological Captial for our student athletes!

CONS

Through community engagement experiences people develop as individuals in many ways. Research shows that community engagement engagement enhances a higher GPA, increases knowledge of future career fields, improves communication and critical thinking skills, and expands cultural awareness within individuals. In addition, one in five employers hire based solely on volunteer experience seen on a resume and 41% of employers see volunteer experience equal to professional experience I believe adding the word “Development” to the community impact report provides a win-win for users. Helping the community grow and develop is also a great opportunity to help each individual grow and develop!

Helper Helper gives us the ability to provide our student-athletes with detailed reports of what they have done during their career. As we look to prepare them for their next step after sport or after their collegiate career, having Helper Helper allows us to give them quantifiable data to place on their resume. They can show graduate schools and future employers what they have done and easily show the engagement throughout their time. It is also great way to give coaches and administrators a quick snapshot of what the service component for the department looks like. As one of the first Power 5 schools to jump on board, we have loved being apart of Helper Helper, love being able to compete with other schools while enhancing or effectiveness to get our students out in the community. In talking with any schools who don't have the app, we always speak volumes about the app because it truly has transformed our program for the better.

PROS

I love that this product is able to conduct thorough reports and also allows for there to be comparison with other institutions. In an era where schools are constantly looking to quantify their programming, having a way to track all service and community engagement streamlines the process well.

CONS

I think there are a few small tweaks that could be made, but overall when customers ask for adjustments the Helper Helper staff does a phenomenal job of looking into finding solutions. We have been apart of the Helper Helper family since 2015 and have seen tremendous growth and love seeing how it continues becomes more user friendly and the right hand for student affairs professionals.

Helper Helper Review from a University Athletic Standpoint

My experience has been incredible. From when I first started working in the athletic department to this year right before COVID, we saw about a 33% increase in community service hours because students were accessing the app or even just sending me emails about who was completing service. One team even shared me into their google doc of service hours so that I could update their team hours everyday since it changed so much. I think that because the students saw that there was a new approach to community service, they took it as a positive and ran with it.

PROS

Helper Helper has expanded the way that advisors and student-athletes can track the amount of service hours they complete in a week, month, or academic semester. It makes life a lot easier than chasing down coaches asking what students did what especially for end of year results. Also the fact that for one event, you can put an entire team down for the community service if all members were apart of it instead of manually entering each name is very time saving especially with the amount of names I have to look over.

CONS

This software is so valuable there isn't much to not love. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and her team constantly ask what can be changed to make it easier for the advisors and the students who are using the platform so that it works to the best of their abilities.

The University of Miami's Athletic Department has had an amazing overall experience with Helper Helper.

PROS

What I liked most about Helper Helper is the ability to track and record what our student-athletes are doing, in the community, on campus, and what career development events they attend. This is so beneficial when writing letters of recommendations, nominating for awards, and helping a student-athletes with a resume. There also numerous reports that you can pull up to see the popular organizations the student-athletes volunteer at and see the amount of hours each have done. The competition is always exciting for us. Our student-athletes are naturally competitive and make a strong effort to win, which in return greatly helps out our communities. It has all of the features we were looking for, and more.

CONS

There really are not a lot of cons when it comes to our use of Helper Helper. It comes with all the features we are looking for and has been a great asset for our athletic department.

The Helper Helper Transformation

Helper Helper has made a HUGE impact with our ability to have a platform to track our community service efforts that is user friendly for both the administrator and the student-athletes. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] are always available to answer questions and walk you through the software from implementation or to show new features. We want to see our student-athletes excel in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and more importantly provide gratifying opportunities to serve the community.

PROS

Helper Helper made uploading already existing team Excel rosters simple into the software. Each year, it is simple to update your roster with incoming student-athletes and the software removes student-athletes that are no longer part of the roster. It is fun to build in the opportunities throughout the year. The reports that you can run using this software are very helpful to track the department as a whole, by team, by individual, and by event. I appreciate providing these reports to our staff and to the student-athletes to help build their resumes with volunteer experience.

CONS

I have yet to find any cons of the software, all of my questions have been answered quickly and I still have yet to use the software to it's full ability.

Quite honestly, I think our teams were doing a lot of community service and not tracking it consistently. Our old school Excel effort was not working and the Helper Helper software was simple to use and fun to track all of the efforts.

Great product for Tracking Community Service. Transformed our community approach

We went into Helper Helper just to replace the paper forms we were using to track Community Service hours. We have gone way past that to having service competitions between grades and other schools in Helper Helper. It has transformed how we view Community Service.

PROS

The ease of use for the user is the biggest plus for this product. Students can submit and track from any device. Administrators have access to a wealth of information from the reports and it even provides for exporting the data for importing into our Student Information System. It has changed how we view and do Community Service as a school.

CONS

There are no cons for us. Staff has been very attentive to suggestions for product improvement.

All I needed!

Helper Helper exceeds my initial expectations and needs. The staff at Helper Helper are incredible friendly, receptive and kind.

PROS

This software allows our student-athletes and interns to sign up for volunteer opportunities straight from their phone and receive alerts about events. This software is extremely user friendly not to mention the staff at Helper Helper is constantly working with me whenever I have a suggestion or new need for the software. The capabilities of this software extends far beyond what we are currently utilizing it for and I cannot wait to continue exploring our opportunities to use it.

All new software takes time for individuals to adapt to but that is my job to get our student-athletes downloading , using and loving the app.

Awesome software

I thoroughly enjoyed using Helper Helper, and could not have asked for a better experience. The staff is amazing and helpful. The ease of access to the system and user interface of the website provided a great experience for me as an administrator.

PROS

I loved the way the software is user-friendly and easy to navigate. In today's environment and in my industry, simplicity is vital when integrating new software, so that is my favorite thing about this software. It is easy to use and I feel like all of the questions I have about the information that is gathered is already ready at my fingertips.

CONS

The only thing I did not like was the lack of training resources available to my staff, administrators, and other users of the software. There are videos and PDF's, but I think an in-person training to get people on board would be a huge asset to users. Any time you transition from one program to another, there will be some reluctance. However, with the right information shared it is more likely that people will be bought in.

Outstanding tool for college students

We purchased Helper Helper to connect college students with volunteer opportunities and to track the volunteer hours our fraternity/sorority members were completing. This app has been excellent for both and has some additional features that we didn't expect (e.g. the ability for students to upload their own pictures). The company has been amazing to work with, listening to our concerns and adapting the program to meet our needs.

PROS

I like that students can sign up for volunteer opportunities that we post, as well as report volunteer hours they completed outside of our service. I also love the ability to run reports for organizations so they can keep track of their members volunteer commitments.

CONS

The only thing I find difficult is making volunteers inactive. There isn't an easy way to do this when you are trying to delete a lot of people at one time and it's about a three step process per person, which is pretty monotonous.

PROS

Helper Helper has been very easy for our students to understand and use. The students appreciate having all of the information on their phones. I have recommended it to a number of higher education institutions. The staff at Helper Helper is the BEST!!! If I have any issues or suggestions they are always happy to problem solve and help make things easier for me (as an administrator) and our students.

CONS

The biggest problem is having the students download and use the software. The students are slow to download Helper Helper and I’m not sure why. Helper Helper staff has given me a number of excellent suggestions to help students engage with the program, but the students are reluctant-I’m not sure why. If they use it one time-they love it! It’s getting them to use it initially. This is NOT a problem with the software, but a problem with my students.

Excellent Customer Service

PROS

The software itself is excellent and the Helper Helper team is always adding new features that make the administrator and user experiences event better. But what stands out the most is the team's commitment to providing superior customer service. We have requested numerous customizations in the last year and they have delivered each and every time. The team is also extremely responsive. I've never had any trouble getting an email response or a call scheduled. Our experience working with Helper Helper has been nothing but positive.

CONS

I have no complaints about the software. Every feature we have asked for or needed has been provided and they're constantly adding features that we didn't even know we needed.

Helpful Addition ot our Service Program

I like it. It does help me organize things and it makes it easier for students to sign up for events.

The ability to list opportunities easily and message students quickly. I like that you can create different teams/groups.

CONS

I wish it was more flexible in terms of what the home screen looks like I would like to be able to post organizations that may need volunteers for one particular day or ongoing needs- no specific times needed - sort of like a bulletin board. I also would like to be able to set the number of service hour requirements in the software and have a running tally for each year per student.

The data it can store and the reports the system can generate have been of great value to our organization! Has Saved ME So much Time!

From the time we got this software the customer service has been amazing, I and email [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and in no time get a detailed response. As a one-person shop in athletics, tracking and setting up community service use to be like a full-time position, and would take up way to much of my time. Now it is so simple and I can spend and 1/8 of the time I use to spend doing things. This has given me so much more time to focus on my athletes and their other programming.

PROS

This software is so easy and user friendly. You don't have to know anything about computers in order to use the program. Everything is easy to find on your own and I hardly ever need assistance!

CONS

There is honestly nothing I can say I don't like.

Helper Helper completely changed our CO-OP system for the better

PROS

It is incredibly easy to use and adjust on the admin side of things, and so user friendly for our parents. The fact that users can see available opportunities, log their own hours, sign up to help with what the school needs- we're not using this in place of sign-up genius, on top of for our CO-OP needs. We can send push notifications for mass messaging, get immediate reporting, track service hours, and basically everything is now in one place. The team is also incredibly responsive and helpful.

CONS

I do wish the app icon looked less like the Hilton symbol (something that many of our parents mentioned), but other than that I'm happy with everything.

It was so difficult to track service hours with the system we were using, and we had to send emails out or make phone calls every time we needed CO-OP help. Now everything is in one place, and is so much easier to use.

Successful implementation

Our students are able to take the lead in recording and tracking their service hours. They can see their progress to their service hour requirement in real time. It is also so much easier for our service administrators to follow up with students, check on progress, and promote opportunities.

PROS

The initial product did not meet some of our needs, however, the company listened to us as well as other schools. They made changes to the software and/or provided extensive tech support. We are very pleased with the responsiveness of the company and willingness to hear issues from their clients.

CONS

Initially the reports were difficult to use and adapt to our needs. They continue to get better and are much more useful for us. Also, while there is a way for students to reflect on their service experiences, it is not a featured or even expected part of their recording of their hours. This could be developed better.

CSP SAAC Review

Overall, I had a great experience with Helper Helper. It was an organized way to track volunteer hours electronically and see if people are attending. I also liked being able to compare who is volunteering and who isn't, keeping it all electronic was very convenient.

PROS

This was pretty easy to use. I like how anyone could sign up for opportunities and how it kept track of how many hours each person had. It was easy for administrators to add events.

CONS

It could have been a little easier for admin to add details to events. Things like adding multiple dates for the same event but with different times were sometimes a hassle. Also, adding a limit on how many volunteers can attend and the access code at the bottom are somewhat hidden. The access code especially was confusing for everyone for awhile because when the admin created it, the verification code at the bottom seemed so hidden and it made a mess of things for awhile. Make it more clear what it does!

PROS

We needed a system that would easily allow our members' the ability to plan, track and assess their service work throughout the academic year. Helper Helper has an easy-to-use, intuitive platform that tracks the information we need from an organization-wide level, while also proving helpful at the individual chapter-level, too. The Helper Helper team have been great partners over the last 2.5 years as we designed and rolled out the platform for our members.

CONS

Our biggest challenge has not been with the software itself, but in getting our members to use it effectively. While being very intuitive to use, it still takes a little bit of convincing for college students to adapt to a new system for service tracking and reporting. That being said, the Helper Helper team has been wonderful with giving us ideas and suggestions to create greater buy-in across the organization.

A Great Partnership

The best thing about the Helper Helper app, beyond the fact that it has saved me countless hours in manual data entry and tracking, is the customer service. We are a Canadian company and the team has made little changes to customize the app for our use and has kept in consistent contact over the 2 years we have been using the platform. They are fantastic and always willing to help.

PROS

The simple to understand interface is great. Employees at all technology levels seem to be able to use the app or online platform with ease. We also find the ability to create separate teams under and organization umbrella great for reporting purposes.

CONS

The only con is that you can't set a business year of sorts (This may be a problem specific to us). You can easily customize this in reports but it would be great if you could start a 'new year' and not have that data show all the time. Then be able to go back and check separate years. Again you can do this in reports I would just like to see it as an option. So not really a con...more an idea to improve the platform further.

The ability to track our student-athletes community service hours has improved greatly over the past five years. Before we had this app, coaches would track their own hours and we could never fully track accurate hours or get a cumulative total for all student-athletes. Having team managers/administrators has helped tremendously for the director of operations and coaches to track their student-athletes. Student-athletes download this on their phone and track/upload pictures of what they are doing out in their local and BG communities.

CONS

Recent improvements in allowing local non-profit organizations to create their own opportunity have helped A LOT. before I would need to put in all of their information and ended up putting in generic information. So not accurate to the non-profit.

Helper Helper makes tracking community service for student-athletes streamlined and easy :)

I actually began using Helper Helper when I was working at a different college in a similar role. Using the app was so beneficial there, that when the opportunity came to potentially transition to Helper Helper here came up, I couldn't have recommended it more :)

PROS

The user-friendly nature of the app. The ability to build out organizations, recurring opportunities, etc. so student-athletes/team admins can go in and log service easily. The reporting feature may be my favorite because of the ability to customize different data in so many ways...on a team level, department level, etc.

CONS

The one thing that has been a struggle has been shifting over a department to change the way we track community service, and getting student-athletes/coaches to "buy in" and actually use the app. But once teams start using it, there haven't been many issues.
