For the new gens who hate unnecessary background hassles!
I was thrilled to use Ubuntu for the first time. At the very beginning, it was very weird for me to learn theory of terminal commands before actually seeing the OS in my hands. But when I actually tried my hands on it, I realised that commands are not compulsory, GUI itself is sufficient to handle our usage. I wanted a file system which has radically faster speed on copy and writing files and folder even on a 3.0 HDD, and Ubuntu impressed me over MS Windows. So, I loved this OS.
PROSI have always been a "perfection" finding person. I wanted all cloud storage at one place. I always look for central integration. A easy software library where I can install the software directly from store. Google drive can be linked to the local storage like a directory, this is the most beautiful feature in Ubuntu. One unique feature is that you can also set keyboard shortcuts using windows function key ans use in Linux based Ubuntu. I just love the speed of booting up.
CONSThere are no cons as of now regarding the quality of software, but I personally feel that we need more themes to decorate the desktop. And biggest issue is file shortcut, unlike other OS, we cannot send files shortcut to desktop. So they need to roll out this feature sooner.
Reason for choosing Ubuntu
Ubuntu is a free to use software, open-source and no license needed. This is what most us look for! Free and simple yet productive.

Ubuntu - a solid distro
I've been using the Mate version of Ubuntu as my primary desktop for years and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I don't prefer it to Windows or Mac because it's free, I prefer it because the user experience is so much better.
PROSUbuntu has just about every application I use in it's repo... and I use a LOT of applications from music arranging, 3-D modeling and printing, software development, and more. The few applications I needed that were not in the repo were easily to find and install via PPA. Ubuntu has an active support community for every level of user. Distro version upgrades are smooth and effortless.
CONSNothing is wrong with snaps, but I don't why why Ubuntu should "muddy the waters" by having 2 different kinds of applications managers: both apt-get (or apt) and snap. I'd like to see the distro stick to apt.
Reason for choosing Ubuntu
I got sick to death of Windows constant updates and reboots, and with every update, Windows overriding my preference settings. Ubuntu is faster than Windows on any given hardware, and more secure. Ubuntu's package manager keeps all of the installed software up to date - unlike Windows software that has to be updated one by one. You can spend thousands of dollars on Windows and Windows software and still not have half of the system you can have with Ubuntu... for free!
Reasons for switching to Ubuntu
OpenSuse was OK but the application repo didn't have some of the software packages that I wanted to run. Windows wasted my time with constant automatic updates and forced reboots.

The nascent challenger to topple Red Hat
Ubuntu has come a long way over the years. If you look at Linux distribution market shares over the years, you'll see the Red Hat family losing market share to the Debian family - chiefly Ubuntu. When you consider Red Hat's embarrassing missteps with killing CentOS Linux and turning AWX (the open source Ansible Tower upstream) into a Kubernetes-only project, it's not surprising that Ubuntu has risen. Ubuntu is where the industry is heading.
PROSUbuntu now uses the GNOME desktop environment, which is modern and highly effective if you're a keyboard guru like me. Its "Snap" format of distribution-agnostic packages makes it easy to get more up-to-date versions of common software. There's a lot of community support for Ubuntu.
CONSUbuntu's "Snap" packages automatically update, and you can't turn this off. That's fine for desktop software but a disaster for server software. Canonical, which commercially sponsors Ubuntu, still doesn't have professional training similar to the RHCSA/RHCE.
Reasons for switching to Ubuntu
Because I could no longer justify the extra effort developing systems automation for Enterprise Linux when more and more of the industry seems to be rallying around Ubuntu.

Become Comfortable With Ubuntu Environment
My overall experience with Ubuntu is good, through this we can learn the backend of configurations i.e. how manually configurations are done, and how to handle them manually if the software crashes.
PROS1. Ubuntu is a very light OS, any Pc with less configuration will support Ubuntu 2. It is very helpful for organization-level work i.e. it has preinstalled software which is required in organizations like schools, colleges, etc. 3. You can customize it with your requirements which is amazing, you can customize your file icons, change how will your system look, and many others. 4. The most important feature of this platform is that it is a secure environment
CONS1. It doesn't support headphones and microphones at a single time, only one of them can be used at a time. 2. It mainly has CLI and that's why some people face issues in using it when switching from Windows. 3. There is a brightness issue in Ubuntu Linux 20.10 version.
Reasons for switching to Ubuntu
On the Windows platform, you are only allowed to make changes at some certain level, but Ubuntu provides full access to customize according to your need

A nice introduction to linux
Ubuntu provides an easy to use Linux kernel that makes transitioning from other mainstream operating systems like Windows or MacOS relatively straightforward. I like the simple user interface, addition of simple features found in other OS's, and the ability to develop software in a Linux environment.
CONSWhile this is no direct fault of Ubuntu, I wish there were more supported software for the platform. Software commonly found on other OS's are not supported on Ubuntu. Examples include the Microsoft Office Suite and many video games.
Reasons for switching to Ubuntu
Not a complete switch over but switched over for development.

My favourite OS is Ubuntu
It's tough to talk about Ubuntu without comparing it to Linux. I make my living off of Linux, so it's important that Ubuntu is as good of an operating system as its predecessor. I can say definitively that it falls short in a number of different ways, but its price point is what really has me on the fence. It might be worth the risk if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Windows or MacOS. The biggest

The "all you can eat" for Linux Distros
Thanks to all the people behind Ubuntu and Its community, I can for sure say that Using Ubuntu led me to this world of Linux and I could not be more pleased with that. Today we use it in our company for Users that need to use something reliable and tons of support.
PROSSincerely, talking about Ubuntu has become almost as talk as the Linux System itself, it's the most complete Debian based distro, and support from developers and the community is outstanding, you can use it for starting the Linux world or for complex computational calculations (software developers often thinks in ubuntu support).
CONSIt can be a little overwhelming work with Linux at first, but this happens with anyone that is new to this world. But Ubuntu almost doesn't have any flaws and can make the transition a little more appealing.
