Great tool for managing time and tasks

Never forget anything, schedule them through timeplans on appropriate times etc. Great!

PROS

The (semi) automatic (re)scheduling of tasks is great

CONS

I'd like to be able to sync tasks with outlook-task and google-tasks, evernote, confluence etc. So adding tasks to the inbox via other systems basically, and then to have them scheduled in agenda via SP. Furthermore, (bug) sometimes two plans are added to a tasks, when one was needed.

Reasons for switching to SkedPal

RTM didn't innovate, adn didn't schedule. Didn't know it before SP, but after trial I was hooked.

SkedPal: Takes care of scheduling your tasks so you can remain focused

SkedPal helps me stay on track and have a better understanding of what my schedule is. It allows me to have a clear view of how much work is on my plate when I discuss new projects with my manager, and more readily discuss timelines. It also lets me get my tasks and the work of scheduling them out of my head, so I can focus on what I'm doing instead of being distracted by that sort of administrative task.

PROS

Hands down my favorite feature is the intelligent time-blocking! I enter tasks with start and/or due dates, and give SkedPal access to see my calendar, as well as time maps for scheduling certain types or categories of work. SkedPal puts together a schedule for me and generates a calendar. Poof! I know what to do and when to do it. AND it tells me if I'm over-booking myself, or if I skip a task, it will reschedule it for me.

CONS

I'm a fan of multiple levels of sub-tasks, which isn't currently supported (though I believe there are future plans to better support sub-tasks). There are plenty of ways to work around this, but it isn't ideal. Also, right now SkedPal is primarily intended to help with the immediate needs and does not schedule more than 21 days out, which means I still need to keep more extended high level schedules elsewhere to manage long term project planning.

Reasons for switching to SkedPal

Todoist is a decent task manager, but was not helpful with managing the overall scheduling of my tasks.

Skedpal is the best compromise out there

Okay. Best of the rest

PROS

I like how Skedpal fits with what I need on most things. Skedpal schedules tasks for me and adds them to the reschedule pile when I didn’t mark the tasks done. This is important so I don’t miss anything. In addition Skedpal has great integration with Asana, the tool we use at my company, so other team members can assign me tasks and it gets scheduled via Skedpal.

CONS

I dislike the following: - I have to keep on pressing “Update schedule” - this should be updated whenever there is a change in schedule or a task’s due date goes over without me marking it as done. - I dislike not having a specific timer for the task itself. The task should have a timer and that timer automatically extends the time the task occupies in the calendar. - I dislike the overall UX, it does not feel modern. - I dislike that it has zero calendar features

Reasons for switching to SkedPal

Not to difficult for me given how much I’ve researched on this and the super helpful slack community, but I wouldn’t say it’s easy. I would be surprised if anyone on my team would adopt this themselves without me pushing it.

Absolute must for the dynamic lifestyle of an entrepenuer.

As an entrepeneur and father who juggles many projects for clients, the house, the family, etc - I find Skedpal an absolute must for me and not really sure how I'd be able to prioritize tasks without it.

PROS

I love the auto scheduling and the parsing of certain parameters, so you can simply type out "by next week" and it automatically sets the start/end goal times. It's very intuitive and the deatiled features get really deep. The Asana integration is clutch too as I work as a contractor for multiple clients who all have different workspaces. Skedpal brings them all together in one view for me.

CONS

It's mobile experience is a little slow for me and not quite as full as the desktop browser version. I should note that I am an unusual use case and have 1000s of tasks, which may be affecting performance.

Reason for choosing SkedPal

Skedpal had all of the features I needed with infinite heirarchy and the most intuitive experience.

Reasons for switching to SkedPal

Toodledo development seemed at a stand still and had no new features for many years

SkedPal has been a productivity enhancer!

PROS

For years I have worked my schedule according to an ideal week. I segmented my day into defined chunks of time and then would manually fill in the schedule with tasks. With SkedPal, I could use their time maps to recreate my ideal week digitally. Now SkedPal schedules my tasks "automagically" according to the boundaries I have set. It has decreased my planning time. I can move into action much easier. What I also love about SkedPal is the "update schedule" button. If I get off track, I can update the schedule, and like magic, I have an actionable schedule again. It is fabulous.

CONS

There are no collaboration tools that I am aware of, and I still use Trello or Asana for their visible cues.

Time Maps in SkedPal I use time maps before skedpal to think about my day and schedule tasks. I was super pleased this was available in a digital option
