Transact
We use Transact to take online payments and in person cashiering payments. They have extremely helped us in terms of managing compliance and processing payments. Their reports are customizable and provide us with all necessary data.
PROSThe product is easy for students to use and staff to find transactions and pull reports. I was not employed here for the entire initial integration, however, the part I participated in and subsequent additions went smoothly. Transact was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in walking us through and moving the integration along. They assisted with all questions and roadblocks we ran into.
CONSWe have a legacy (homegrown) system so it has been extremely difficult to integrate with most products. Any hiccups we had Transact was able to find a way for their system to integrate with ours or put in extra effort to try to trouble shoot with us. We do not have any complaints regarding our partnership with Transact.

It's works, but just barely...
There's a tiny bit of hope, that if you can use this software in the *simplest* scenario possible with old equipment, that you might have a great experience with CashNet. The front end users like this much more than our previous software--that is, when it's not errorring out and causing them to do the "three daily reboots"... it's a thing.
PROSThe support personnel are the best thing about this company. But that's not saying much, there's just a lot of other things to dislike more.
CONSThe best way I can summarize this product's biggest shortcoming, is to give an example. There is a part of the setup where it asks you to insert the driver software disk into the A:\. I could go on and on about how "bolt-on" (to literally decades old fundamental code)...

Billing by email rather than mail, acceptance of credit card payments easy import into our legacy system.
CONSWe did not implement real time due to difficulty of setup (legacy system) and cost.
Reasons for switching to Integrated Payments
Our current process for late fees for student billing was a state issue. We did not previously accept credit card payments but now, since we can push the processing fee back to the student/parents, we are able to accept tuition payments. Tremendously helped cash flow, accounts receivable balances

Our Reliable Deposit Channel
We use the Common Application for all of our undergraduate student applications and thus also use CashNet to handle our deposits. Whenever there has been an issue, which is rare, CashNet support is quick to fix the issue. They also are very proactive in making us aware of when there will be an outage and when that outage is complete. It's nice to have something reliable and autonomous in such a tumultuous professional setting.
CONSI can't say there's anything I dislike. I'm not our Administrator for this software, so I can't speak on ease of configurations or communicating when we want to stop taking deposits, but I've only ever heard good things from our Bursar's office.

Use for Cashiering Purposes
What I like most about CASHNet is that I'm able to easily rectify a mistake that my cashiers have made. In other workplaces, it was a bigger effort to reverse transactions and to balance at the end of a shift. CASHNet has a very simple process and gives access to several different reports that break down the gains and losses.
CONSIt has an outage of some sort at least once every other week during business hours. When we are using it to conduct payment services to students, it shuts down our entire cashiering process.

CashNet Review
Overall, despite its many features displayed at a given time, Cashnet is easy to use and learn. It’s functional and simple enough for our team to understand.
PROSThis product is easy and simple to use. The features are straightforward and processing payments is as easy as three clicks.
CONSWhat I like least about this program is that there are a number of features to it that are not very organized, or aesthetic on the website. Maybe it looks too “messy” at times.

Solution for online payment
Overall I liked the product's ease of access. The features were simple to understand and could train the staff quickly who've never used this software before.
PROSWhen I was working in college, we used this software. It offers great user friendly inteface to handle the deposits made by students. There are constant updates on the backend but the support staff is good and they notify well before the deployment.
CONSOverall I'm satisfied with the product. If I've to pinpoint one least attractive feature then I would say there are constant updates in the business hours. Had the team work on outages in weekends or in non-business hours, would be helpful.

I have used CashNet when paying for tuition and other expenses in college.
Ease of use and functionality.
PROSWhen I studied at UCLA in 2013 a form of CashNet was what was implemented on our school website/portal. CashNet is very easy to use for those who are making payments. I have never had issues with paying for my tuition or other costs while studying in college. Adding my payment accounts was never an issue and the site always felt secure.
CONSWhat I liked least about the software was how plain it was. However, this could be so that the software was easy to use and cut straight to the point of the software's intended use.

Awesome payment processor
So easy to use, it helps even the most unknowledgeable financial minds come out with a balanced report. I really enjoy this Higher One product as it is linked with a refund card used for campus transactions. The integration is effortless and it helps to get the students their funds in a timely manner.
CONSWhat I like least is the User Interface. It seems outdated. It is a great product. It seems to be lacking in UI and intuition in usability.

Great online payment portal
They are are able to provide the function we need at the price we can afford.
PROSThis filled our need of allowing a safe and secure way for our students to pay for their tuition online.
CONSThey have been telling us for years but still are not fully P2PE compliant making it a headache to make sure we are still PCI compliant.
