3PL, Sourcing & More

The customer service team has been great, we have a custom product offering & have a lot of moving parts. Working with the team directly has been really helpful.

PROS

I love how I was able to source my manufacture and reach out to multiple different companies easily to start a conversation.

CONS

I don't love that all the samples need to go to Pietra's warehouse prior to me, it increases processing time & would be easier if I could opt in to send them directly.

Order fulfillment and customer support are waaaaaaaaay better than competitors

Really like the company and team catering to small businesses. Seems like other warehouses and fulfillment centers cater to the big guys, and they wait for weeks to respond to me. This company has a very fast customer support and makes sure they are flexible enough to work with the small guys. Don't know how long it'll last but for once it feels good to be able to talk to someone when there is a problem.

PROS

Most of the other warehouse and fulfillment centers don't cater to small businesses. We needed a solution that had great customer support and cared about the smaller brands. When I found out my Pietra membership gave me access to a fulfillment center, I had to try it! Couldn't be happier. This company actually cares. If you're considering Shipbob or Shipmonk I would strongly suggest considering Pietra. They don't have all the bells and whistles that I'll never use. It's right to the point, tech forward, and just works.

CONS

The only way to get access to Pietra's private 3PL is to be a member of their ecosystem. At first I just wanted to use the fulfillment center but I realized I needed to buy a membership. Luckily they have an affordable month-to-month plan but you can't try it for free.

Reason for choosing Pietra

Price, customer support. I'm just getting this business off the ground and they understood that.

Reasons for switching to Pietra

I was a small business that didn't need all the bells and whistles. Just great pricing and customer support.

A nightmare of a 3PL

PROS

The interface is sort of cute. It seemed promising. The idea of an all in one solution for influencers to develop and sell a product is a great one, but the execution is poor.

CONS

Extremely late shipping of orders; orders sitting in the queue far longer than the stated fulfillment time. Choosing $18 DHL shipping of an order that we would've shipped for $9-12 via USPS. Choosing the most expensive shipping option to ship orders. This warehouse will not hesitate to charge us so much for shipping that we lose money on every order.Many, many processes that ought to be automated are instead performed manually by humans (for example, checking in inventory, or listing inventory to new platforms), taking up such a huge amount of time it's hard to imagine either the business (us) or Pietra making money. Every time a shipment arrives at Pietra's warehouse, we have to have a Zoom call about it.Pietra's offer to list our merchandise across multiple platforms, which was a selling point, has turned out to be trivial or even damaging. For example, Pietra lists all its clients items on Pietra's own Etsy page, [sensitive content hidden], which currently has made 2 sales ever and has 1 star out of 5. Pietra is offering to list our products to Twitter on Pietra's own Twitter Shops, but Twitter only allows each shop to list a total of 50 items, so it would not be possible for Pietra to follow through on this.We have not used Pietra's sourcing but have not had a need to do this, as I have really never had an issue communicating directly with a Chinese manufacturer, as all of them have English speaking agents whose job it is to do this.

Exactly What I Was Looking For

10/10. They hit the sweet spot of service, reliability and quality tech. Haven't had a single error on a shipment yet and their network of suppliers continues to grow. We had special request for kitting that Pietra accommodated.

PROS

Pietra is just what I was looking for. Great platform for finding my suppliers but their fulfillment hits the sweet spot. Big enough to handle our volume but still gives our brand attention and dedication. Other larger fulfillment centers onboarded me and then forgot about us. Very happy.

CONS

When looking for Services the platform treated it liked a Product.

Reason for choosing Pietra

Same notes as above. Also their pick pack fee is the most competitive.

Reasons for switching to Pietra

Shipmonk onboarded us and then never gave us the time of day. We had special request for kitting etc that were near impossible to get them to do. Pietra accommodated.

Pietra rocks

From my point of view, Pietra is THE BEST PLATFORM THAT I'VE EVER SEEN! So many ADVANTAGES that Pietra has and others don't! For me, as a Chinese supplier, it's totally FREE to join, and NO ANY EXTRA FEES! That's awesome!!! When customers place orders, Pietra always transfers payment to me first, so my capital chain is always sufficient. And customers on Pietra are so nice, maybe because they're all influencers in the U.S.and I realized the sample to inventory conversion rate is pretty high compared to other platforms. And Pietra's service is soooo nice! We just need to ship our goods to their Fulfillment Center, and then they will help us to ship to our customers. That's cool! I don't even have to ask for a customer address! That saved my time a lot! Also Pietra always has good policies to help suppliers which is so warmhearted and so nice! I LOVE PIETRA! Even though it's a start-up platform, I can still see great passion from it! Now our factory has already quitted other platforms and is concentrating on Pietra and we believe that Pietra will definitely help us to sell our nice products to all over the world. Two thumbs up for Pietra!!!

The Best Tool for Small Businesses!!

I have had the most amazing experience using Pietra! Using Pietra feels like I hired a team of people to help me through the small business process. From creating my product to selling it Pietra has changed the way I run aaronevy. If you are using any other tools you are wasting your time- Pietra is it!!

PROS

Pietra completely changed the way I run my small swimwear business. I went from shooting in the dark trying to figure everything out myself to having every possible tool needed. I use their sourcing tools to find the perfect suppliers for swimwear and packaging. I love that I can trust their vetting process for suppliers and the ability to get the best deal out their through their network! I also use them for shipping, warehousing, and fulfillment. They have the cheapest shipping rates with the fastest customer service I could find which allows me to really grow my small business. Not to mention their marketplace that helps me find new sales channels and sell to their audience. I just simply shouldn't recommend this software enough I tell anyone who is starting a business to look to Pietra. They made my business possible!

CONS

I really have no complaints about Pietra! They gave me more tools than I even know I needed.

Working with Pietra has been great! As a platform it is awesome but beyond that the team at Pietra is truly amazing. They work so hard for us, they are incredibly helpful and responsive when we run into issues, and they have also worked so hard to help us hit drop dates with very short turn around time for receiving our items. The team at Pietra and especially in the fulfillment center is always going above and beyond for us and we are so grateful for them.

PROS

The platform is very easy to use and to navigate. I am never feeling confused on where to find something on the platform. It also integrates/lines up so well with Shopify which makes my job a lot easier as I am going back and forth between the two platforms!

CONS

Overall I love the Pietra software. There are very minor changes here and there that I would make (one example that comes to mind is when I receive the emails telling me that "products have arrived at the fulfillment center" it would be great if that email listed which products we are referring to). There are very small things such as that that could improve the platform but overall it runs very well and smoothly.

Great Tool

PROS

There is an abundance of options for just about anything you can imagine needing when developing a brand regardless of size or scope. Customer support and onboarding is phenomenal.

CONS

The messaging platform/inbox is pretty clunky. It gets the job done, but there is certainly lots of room for improvement.

Easily create influencer brands with Pietra Studios.

Pietra has made it easy for me to help launch influencer brands quickly and has saved me an enormous amount of time since they also handle logistics including warehousing and shipping.

PROS

Pietra's platform has a lot to offer someone looking to create a new brand and sell their products online. The creator tools are easy to use and allow me to manage everything about my business online. I have access to connect with the Pietra team if I have questions and also have visibility into inventory and sales data once my brands are live.

CONS

It can take a while navigating through the platform as there are many different decisions to be made when starting a product line such as sourcing, ingredients, branding and packaging.

Beyond Happy

I am beyond happy and impressed. My brand rep is the BEST and the classes are very help as well.

PROS

I like that I no longer have to source product the old fashion way and worry about things like FOBs, and the safety of my bank account information. Pietra allows me to create and feel safe as I grow my brand. I can run a very important part of my company from one dashboard.

CONS

I do not like that I can not archive conversations with suppliers.

Reasons for switching to Pietra

My brand rep is AMAZING and the option to play around with the site before I made a formal switch.

We love Pietra!

Really valuable for sourcing new manufacturers and managing orders

Pietra has great suppliers and makes the process of issuing RFP's and placing orders a breeze

So far it's meeting all my needs. I think longer term it would be great for Pietra to also help with inventory management.
