Love Meetaway! So easy to use and a really superb networking platform for our attendees!
They are really awesome to work with! I've never had such a team that was open to new ideas and feature requests. They are always responsive and there to help us when we need it.
PROSMeetaway is so simple to use. It has great features and everyone really loves to use it. It has really enhanced the quality of our online shows giving a place for our attendees to network 1-on-1 with each other in a fun and fast-paced environment. We love the simplicity of the back-end. It's just so easy to set up and quick and easy to make changes. The attendees have a super easy registration and log in process too. All in all, this is a super platform that I would recommend to anyone.
CONSAs much as I'd like to help provide an answer here, there really is nothing that I dislike. They are constantly adding new features and they always listen to their customers when it comes to new ideas.
Reason for choosing Meetaway
We were considering doing something internally to build on our own or just not doing this at all. We are really glad we chose Meetaway. Our users absolutely love the platform!!

A great way to feel connected
Our members feel that they have deepened their connections to others, which has been especially important during the pandemic. The MeetAway team has been incredibly responsive and available, for customer service and also receiving product feedback. It has been a terrific experience.
PROSPeople are loving having one-on-one time to get to know someone better. We are a member-based organization that hosts frequent events; but generally members only talk to the others that they know. The "forced" matching with people you don't know well is really powerful. Our members keep commenting that it's their favorite thing we've offered this year. We plan to continue using it regularly.
CONSWe have given the team feedback and suggestions from time to time, which they have taken into consideration for future releases. But none of it was substantial. In general we really like the program.
Reason for choosing Meetaway
We really liked the functionality of one-on-one meetings. The admin controls are terrific, and the data/results about how many connections were made. We also really like that people can take private notes during their conversations, and these are stored and available for the next time we do a program. Also, some of the other alternatives were really buggy. We found MeetAway to be the most reliable.

New Meetaway user
I like that our attendees can have some preference in who they meet with one-on-one, browsing through the registrants pre-event, and being able to read registrants' bios. For those who are unsure of who specifically to select to match with, the "tags" are helpful, allowing users to ask to meet registrants in certain industries, locations, educational backgrounds, etc. Further, the layout of the video chats are nicely done, allowing the Admin to input conversation objectives if needed, while also allowing a display of the bio of the other person an attendee is talking to, so there's no need to go back and remember - it's right there on the screen. The pre-event email reminders from Meetaway are helpful! I also like the option to upload a personal video greeting as an administrator for attendees to view before entering the event.
CONSThere are a good amount of alumni who want to connect with students at their alma mater for carer networking purposes. For Student-to-Alumni connections, I would love to see a way to separate students from alumni in an event registration, allowing for registration fields that relate specifically to students (major, grad year, career goals, hometown, etc.) to where they select they are a "student," and the registration form directs them to a student-specific form. Same for alumni (job title, company, location, grad year, major, etc.) These specific registration fields would open up a world of opportunity to connect students with alumni across universities. From an administrator's standpoint, the more clear-cut and specific you can make a registration form, the MORE LIKLEY you are to to have very different groups participate in an event.

Prior to Meetaway, I was relaying on a text-based networking platform. This was prior to the Covid pandemic and remote work/school situation a lot of us in higher-ed found ourselves in. The broad comfortability with Zoom and other video platforms was still new, and mostly used for long-distance business meeting and interviews. Once our students and alumni at my university began growing more reliant on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other video platforms to connect, I started getting feedback from alumni that they were seeking a video connection for networking with alumni/students, versus a text-based option.

Best Video Chat Roulette Platform out there
Meetaway was exactly the platform we had been looking for. We used it for our social hour during a conference so our attendees could meet and network with their colleagues and it ended up being the highlight of the day! Pivoting to virtual events has us concerned that people would be less engaged and we would lose the social interaction piece, but our sessions on Meetaway completely filled that need. I am so glad we found this platform.
PROSAuto match-ups, option to have those without a meeting join others so no one is left out, the countdown warnings.
CONSWe have a few tech issues - but it was mostly user end issues. Things you can't really avoid in this virtual world.

We had to do a LOT of manual work/set up with Google Hangouts to match people up. Meetaway did all the work for us!

Good product!
We have used MeetAway for our members to connect with each other in times where no in-person events were possible and it’s been a success. We will continue using MeetAway as a great compliment even after going back to in-person events.
PROSAs an admin, I like how easy it is to set up and the automated reminders. The option to add an intro-video is great as I can’t be on screen to welcome everyone. It’s also amazing the the attendees can chose in advance who they want to get paired up with. Over the top customer service!
CONSAt the moment there are many different links to navigate for both the attendee and admin.

We love the team over there and the flexibility to use the platform as well as the customer service.
PROSThe ease of use and great experience by our users/customers. They are always elated at the connections they make and the ability to have a great profile as well as receive the report of whoever agreed to send their contact information after the event. Everyone also loved that you could extend the call if you were in deep conversation.

The perfect one-to-one online meetup software platform
We've used this to help connect our members with each other during a time when face-to-face meetings are a little challenging.
PROSThe ease of use is unlike anything we've ever seen in a platform of this type. No experience needed by new users and it is incredibly intuitive. The ability to customize meeting times and be selective about the contacts you meet with is a feature I've not seen anywhere but make this incredibly valuable in targeting the right people to talk to.
CONSI haven't found anything I would change.
