Final Cut Pro: A Great Choice for Apple Users
I have extensive experience with professional video editing, and once I switched to Mac, I started to move to Final Cut Pro. It takes time to get used to its quirks, but once you memorize crucial shortcuts (the Tilde key is your friend!), you'll be handling big projects with ease.
PROSFinal Cut Pro offers almost unparalleled speed and performance for video editing, with all the bells and whistles video editors need, inside a clean and simple interface. Plus, it's insanely cheap: $300 for life. Mac users avoid this at their peril.
CONSFinal Cut Pro's controversial features like the Magnetic Timeline take a LOT of getting used to. And there are much fewer plugins and templates than After Effects/Premiere.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
It's affordable and FAST.

Final Cut Pro: Unleashing Your Creativity in Video Editing
As an intern at the IT department in the university, I had the opportunity to work with Final Cut Pro on various video editing projects. I found the software to be powerful and efficient, especially when working on complex projects. The software's interface was easy to navigate, and its range of tools made it easy to accomplish tasks quickly. However, it did take some time to learn the software's advanced features, and the price may be a barrier for some users.
PROSFinal Cut Pro is a robust video editing software that provides professional-grade features for video editors. With a sleek and intuitive interface, users can easily create, edit and share high-quality videos. The software allows users to work with various file formats, including 4K and 8K resolution, and has an extensive range of video and audio effects. The software also integrates well with other Apple software, making it an ideal choice for Mac users. Final Cut Pro's ability to handle complex projects and its range of powerful tools makes it a top choice for professional video editors.
CONSWhile Final Cut Pro is a powerful video editing software, it is also relatively expensive compared to other video editing software. Additionally, its interface may be overwhelming for beginners, and the learning curve may be steep for those new to video editing. Finally, Final Cut Pro is only available on Mac OS, which limits its accessibility to users who use other operating systems.
Reasons for switching to Final Cut Pro
While there are many video editing software options available, Final Cut Pro stands out with its advanced features and tools, making it the top choice for professional video editors. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with other Apple software, making it an ideal choice for Mac users. While it may be expensive, the software's efficiency and powerful features justify its price.

Suped up iMovie
I needed something that could easily play well with all the Adobe products, and this was not it. Also I just hated the over simplistic workflow and lack of third party plug ins and effects.
PROSIt’s quick to add clips to a timeline and add transitions.
CONSThe organization of your raw files behind the scenes is a mess. Hard to find all the footage and assets. The workflow is very much like iMovie, which doesn’t seem very professional. And there is no integration with After Effects.

Great and affordable
Final Cut Pro was the reason I purchased my first Mac. It was much more expensive back then but came with a complete suite of tools for color grading and exporting. While the price dropping is much appreciated, I wish they kept color and further developed it. Overall, I am still happy with Final Cut as I feel it is easier to use than Premiere Pro and Avid has always been too expensive.
PROS- Pricing, it used to be 3 times more when it was offered as part of a suite, since Apple switched to pro-sumer, they made Final Cut very affordable. - Simple to use for beginners. - A wide variety of plugins available
CONS- Not available on Windows, I do not understand why they keep some softwares Mac only. - Lack of integration with other softwares. I use After Effect and Cinema 4D a lot and the integration with Motion is not really interesting to most Video Editors in my circle.

An intuitive, easy to learn PRO video editing software.
I use Final Cut to edit e-course videos, YouTube videos, and sometimes even videos for Facebook and Instagram. It gets the job done well. It's easy to understand and navigate. It's great for novice video editors and full-out pros. It's a great, versatile software that's really a pleasure to work with.
PROSI love that this software is accessible. Content creation is a rapidly growing industry and Apple was insightful enough to make a high-quality video editing product that anyone can learn to master.
CONSThe worst part about this software is the stock effects. At this point, it would be better for Apple to pay creators to utilize their custom cuts, LUTs, sounds, titles, etc than to keep pretending that the pre-installed ones are of professional quality. Using the built-in effects can make videos look cheap and low quality.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
I chose Final Cut based on the usability. It was easier to use and understand as I've mentioned in detail above.
Reasons for switching to Final Cut Pro
Final Cut was just soooooooooo much easier to navigate. Sooooo much easier to understand. Sooooooo much easier to figure out. As a self taught video editor, this was what really set Final Cut Pro apart from the rest.

Awesome Video Editor for Video Production "First-Timers"
Final Cut launched me into a career and I am incredibly grateful. I owe a decades worth of experience and work to the software. If you are getting into editing, and don't have experience yet with the competition, Final Cut could be a great place to start.
PROSI make a living producing videos. I edit videos every single day. I learned on Final Cut Pro 7, and used it for more than a decade. The Final Cut Pro software is incredibly powerful, and if you get into the workflow, it can give you a skillset that you can use to create and make a living as a video editor.
CONSI am not a fan of the non-traditional "trackless" timeline. My workflow is all based on the previous versions of Final Cut that had a more traditional timeline. I no longer use Final Cut Pro on a daily basis because of this.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
Final Cut was vastly superior to AVID in my opinion, for the editing I needed to do.

A great software at a very reasonable price that allows the user to develop progressively without pain and produce amazing results that are easily integrated into presentation software, movies, web platform etc.
PROSSo many amazing features! Relatively to use compared to beginners' tools. Very versatile Allows the user to share on different platform and media. Professional software for professional results vis a user friendly interface.
CONSThe cons are directly related to the pros : amazing features ...but this can be overwhelming at first very versatile ... you need to know what you want to do with this as it is easy to get lost
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
I was looking first and foremost for compatibility with the Mac environment

A (Final) Cut Above
We're using FCPX to rapidly edit and create media for clients. Using that on our new M1 Macs has sped up our editing process and the magnetic timeline only helps with that. Great work Apple.
PROSAs with all Apple software, it's intuitive. Things are where they should be and although there's a steep curve to adapt to it, it's quickly overcome.
CONSIt looks complex. Adobe software comes with a lot of guidance, FCPX doesn't seem to have that, I felt thrown in at the deep end.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
Integrates well with Apple products
Reasons for switching to Final Cut Pro
Using Apple hardware, FCPX had better performance.

Apple's Finest
For quick projects Final Cut Pro is amazing. For very heavy editing, you need plugins and other external resources in order to get the final result you may need.
PROSWhat I like the most is the ease of use, very intuitive. It can be used by beginners as well as experienced video editors. The possibility to add tons of plugins with effects, visual overhaul, text, and audio plugins is endless, making Final Cut Pro really cheap and worth the money. I love that it is version based, and you don't have to be subscribed in order to use it. The rendering is mostly extremely fast.
CONSThe out-of-the-box effects are very limited, and you need to either create your own or use third-party plugins. Also, importing HDR videos from iPhone makes the project look so bright, it takes quite some time to figure out why and how to fix it.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
Easy to use, cheaper, and very intuitive. Extremely quick rendering.

Best video editor for Mac
When I am using my Mac, I do love how seamlessly it integrates with my machine. Also, it's extremely user friendly. After just a few minutes of clicking around a novice user will be able to produce quality videos for a number of different platforms. Everything is extremely easy to locate within the program itself and seems intuitive to the user.
CONSWhile it is extremely easy to learn, it's simplicity can have drawbacks. Some of the more complex functions and actions found in Premiere are missing from Final Cut. However, for a novice to mid range user (especially one using any type of Mac product) Final Cut is the clear winner of the two.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
I still use Premiere on my PC, however for my work laptop I was provided a Macbook. On my Macbook I prefer Final Cut (especially on smaller quick projects).

My favourite editor - for a fair price
I learned to edit on FCPx and have very positive feelings about this software. It makes editing and creating easy and pain-free
PROSIt's a one-off fee to unlock one of the best editing suites on the planet. It's incredibly simple to use, fast and powerful, and comes with lots of tools (effects, transitions and titles) to make editing quick and simple. It doesn't crash very often and autosaves after every change, making editing a frustrating-free experience.
CONSSharing project files is hard as there is no way to share a project library without sharing all the files (which makes is very heavy), There should be a better focus on collaborating online editing.
Reasons for switching to Final Cut Pro
Cheaper and crashes far less!

All In A Day's Work
There are two types of video editing software. Overly simple and overly complicated. Final Cut sits bang in the middle. Fairly easy to use but with a lot of power under the hood. It allows me to quickly turn around a lot of work.
PROSI use the caption feature extensively so that our teaching videos comply with accessibility regulations. The auto-generated captions that Google, Stream etc. produce are often wildly inaccurate, and Final Cut Pro allows me to tweak the till my heart's content. Audio editing is very good allowing me to easily take out pops and gaps. My favourite feature I the 'flow' transition which works like some kind of magic is happening.
CONSYou are rather limited in output formats and you sometimes have to jump through a few hoops to get something done, but compared to Premiere it's pretty easy to get to grips with.
Reason for choosing Final Cut Pro
Ease of use + power.

Simple Timelines, Good Features
I think the timeline setup in FCP is one of the most simple and user-friendly I've ever encountered. It's intuitive and does things in a way that makes sense. Clips automatically move when you place a clip between them instead of overwriting the other clip. Secondary features (like text or elements) are smaller than your main content. These are the little things that matter! I also think the shortcuts in FCP are super helpful and easy to access.
CONSI am a user of both FCP and Premiere. I personally like Premiere better because it feels more robust and has a better suite of corresponding products like After Effects, Photoshop, etc. I like to integrate projects from other programs into my video projects and that integration is seamless when you're using the same product line. I like using FCP for simpler projects where I just need to pop a few things in a timeline, add a pan/zoom, and call it a day. But that's not always the right fit in video editing.

Intuitive features, great projects!!
My first experience with Final Cut was on the FCP7, while collaborating with a marketing agency handling promotional content for a side hustle I was launching. Seeing how seamless the guy was breezing through the creation process pushed me to give it a try myself for a subsequent project. The price was higher than I thought, but was absolutely worth it.
PROSIt handles a wide variety of input formats, and has never struggled with any of them. I also find the output file preconfigured options quite useful, meaning I don't have to manually tinker with the output settings to tailor my videos for whatever particular purpose it is intended. I only get to point and pick. Another great thing about Final Cut is the user interface, just as most other apple products, absolutely beautiful and functional.
CONSIntegration options with non-apple products is either too difficult or completely non-existent.

Final Cut Pro - Professional Video production workspace
Great for rendering professional standard videos. Despite the learning curve can be steep, Final Cut Pro can do it all.
PROSThe many effects featured on Final Cut allow advanced editing, provided enough cpu. The time flex options operate as expected, image correction, master fx and many import/export possibilities render this software limitless.
CONSTo properly run this software on any large scale project, a high end mac is required as rendering times can be long. Not really best software for on the go/mobile production, yet this is not what was advertised. The audio editing possibilities remain basic but sufficient all the same. It is a rather expensive piece of software.

My favourite NLE for all online videos
I've used this software since it was first released and it keeps getting better with new features. Often overshadowed by other competitors it really is great for quick and short edits.
