GolfStatus - your website services and support staff ROCK!

We have nothing but fantastic things to say about GolfStatus and all of the staff we have had the privilege of working with. Overall, they make sure you are taken care of and feel like a top priority to them. I cannot recommend them enough!

PROS

4 key points for us about this software: 1) The customer service is on point for GolfStatus. I think any question we have had has been answered within a 10 minute window and the staff has went above and beyond to make sure we understand things and are taken care of. 2) The appearance of the website: the interface is clean and direct. It's pretty simple to understand for users (and once you get the hang of it, the back end is pretty good as well!) 3) Setting things up: This is made easy for almost anyone to do. We love the features! 4) Payment: The site being tied to Stripe has made our lives so much easier! I cannot begin to talk about how many hours the website has saved us as a team in organizing the event.

CONS

There really are no big cons we can think of. If I was nitpicking it all, I would say there are some reports that could be easier to pull / run for the event -but that's really nitpicking at it.

Alleviate Your Admin Duties with GS!

Overall experience was top-notch! The customer support as an admin was very hands-on as we prepped for our first event using GS. I loved that printouts were available already on how to use the app for scorekeeping. It made it easy for us to "sell" our participants on using the app over a paper scorecard.

PROS

I like that it's a one-stop shop with respect to scorekeeping and registration. Some sponsored items were easily ordered with GS's help, but I would appreciate even more involvement in this aspect of event planning. One of the major headaches I experience is ordering sponsored items off of 3rd party sites, proofing artwork, ensuring timely production and delivery, fronting the money, and requesting reimbursement from the sponsor. Lots of coordination! I appreciated the experience we had with GS and our pin flag sponsor, for example. Once the sponsorship slot was filled, all that was needed was the logo and payment to cover the expense. GS took care of the rest (thank you!).

CONS

As a person crunching the numbers and keeping tabs on all of our donors/contributions, it would be helpful if there was a download that has a comprehensive list of all participants (regardless of their classification) to see how are proceeds were derived from. Even having 1 tab on a download contain contact names, email addresses, package(s) purchased, and purchase amounts would have saved me some time grabbing information from different sources.

Reason for choosing GolfStatus

BPT is more of a means to collect sales on an event. As far as I know, it doesn't have the capabilities of interacting with participants other than accepting credit card payments. GS has 2 functions in my eyes -- a merchant processing platform and a scoring platform.

Reasons for switching to GolfStatus

Our golf committee was attempting to make back-of-the-house responsibilities more streamlined, which I think was mostly accomplished with GS.

A Huge Help To Our Event And Our Cause

Great software and tool, OUTSTANDING customer care/support. I've used other tools and pulled together my own tools (Constant Contact, Paypal, MailChimp...), GolfStatus made my life so much easier. I am a fan and loyal customer for life. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was an outstanding liaison from an account perspective and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was always there when we needed him for administrative/website support. Really impressed with the tool, but LOVED the support from start to finish.

PROS

The software was easy to use as the administrator and easy to use for our golfers and donors. Not complicated.

CONS

I would like to get the sponsors more "eyeball space", perhaps on the front page. I know the Tech Sponsor is a big deal for GolfStatus, but I don't like that we have to go to a separate tab to see the sponsors.I also would like to be able to load my marketing list and create an outreach tool via GolfStatus - I use Mailchimp, I'd rather get rid of that and have it all integrated into the same platform.

Reasons for switching to GolfStatus

GolfStatus is a really robust/integrated tool (I'd like to have it also replace my use of Mailchimp for outreach) and the fact that they handle all the back-office integration and front-end website work is just fantastic. Very easy to use!

Makes the impossible possible

I don't know the firt thing about golf tournaments and GolfStatus makes it possible to run a successful event. The website is super user friendly and literally does it all for you. We've used GolfStatus for our event for the last two years and it's been wonderful!

PROS

First, the customer service is outstanding. Any question or problem I have, they help quickly and efficiently. I love that it's a one stop shop - register for a team, purchase add ons, sign up as a sponsor. I love the ability to look at payout reports. The options of how to view and download the data is great.

CONS

Sponsors are asked up upload their images but they aren't high enough quality to use for signage. This means we have to ask for another logo from our sponsors. There is also no good way to download the images from GolfStatus. Last year we had the complaint that the website didn't work properly with browsers other than Chrome. As a Chrome user, I didn't notice and I don't believe we had complaints this year, but I wanted to note it in case it still needs addressed.

Reason for choosing GolfStatus

Using Formstack meant I had to create all the forms from scratch. GolfStatus was plug and play, flawless!

Love GolfStatus!

Wonderful! Thank you for providing excellence service at a very low cost. It's so helpful for non-profit organizations like ours.

PROS

GolfStatus has made executing our charity golf tournament so much easier! Pros: Quick customer service and assistance when needed. Also like the "donate" button on the website; we used this as a QR code for our Raise the Paddle during our dinner and we raised over $6,000 using it!

CONS

Resizing company logos; however, it has improved a lot from last year, which I appreciate!

Charity Golf tournament set-up

Great Software to steam line golf tournament planning

The biggest problem GolfStatus solved was automating the registration and payment process. It helped make that a lot less manual and alleviate the stress of chasing payments. It also made the event a lot more professional in my opinion.

PROS

The best features of the website were being able to register and pay online easily and be able to track teams, sponsorships, etc. I really liked the reports that were easy to generate such as scorecards, cart signs, player lists and more that saved me time on the back end. It was a nice feature to have the ability to pass on processing fees to participants so it does not take away from money for the fundraiser. I also cannot say enough about the customer service. Every time I had a question my account manager (Paul) promptly got back to me and was very helpful. In our post-event follow up, I shared by feedback and ideas to enhance the website further and it seemed like a lot of my ideas were already in the works so GolfStatus is constantly looking to improve and add new features such as invoicing, easier logo uploading, etc. that will make this an even better product in the future.

CONS

I wish there was a section I could add notes such as "paid by check, comping tee-sign, etc." I think some of the challenges for me was that there were still a good amount of people that wanted to pay check so I had to manage two systems (GolfStatus and a Google spreadsheet) which was time consuming. With the ability to send invoices in the future, hopefully that will be solved. I would like to see a tab where you are able to manage tee-signs in the future (i.e. company name, logo received, sign created, etc.)

Great for Fundraising

PROS

I use golf status once a year to help organize our golf outing which raises money for a few different local nonprofits. The management software is very easy to use and the customer service when I had questions was more than helpful and quick. It is easy for our golfers to use as well and a few simple clicks and they are registered!

CONS

A few of the features on the management side didn't work as well as last year. Seems to be just a glitch. Like any software the fees are always no fun but it makes for such a smooth registration process the day of when everyone has already paid online. It's worth it.

2020 Tournament

Very attentive when our event was getting close and awesome about checking in from time to time to see what they could help with. Using golf status to help in processing credit card payment and organizing cart signs and score cards made the day a lot smoother for everyone involved. Online scoring brought on a lot of fun talking between groups as the day went on.

PROS

The ease in registering teams and individuals, as well as being able to offer "touchless" payment for extras and add on's like Mulligans. Loved the way that the software flighted everything for us and listed out the winners and places for each.

CONS

Was a little confusing in having the scoring update at the end of everyone's round.

GolfStatus is the bomb!!

My overall experience was perfect!!

PROS

All of the features are easy to use for both me, the administrator, and the consumer. The reporting is great and was very easy to download and to send to the golf course. [sensitive content hidden] and the entire staff are stellar. I could not ask for better customer service. They respond to you within minutes. Everyone that registered to sponsor or golf was impressed by the ease of use. The tracking of money was great. Very easy to go in and look at from computer or mobile on the fly.

Driving in the digital world.

Game changer. Golf Status allowed my golf tournament to fundraise quicker AND easier than before. Gone are the days of sending out forms and printing. Having a digital footprint for an event is a true saver as a fundraiser.

PROS

Having an "always on" brochure or website allowed my event to constantly be open to new and existing patrons. Having the ability to wake up, and have someone look at your event and also register, because they were able to immediately understand and know what was happening, without having to call or email anyone.

CONS

Overall it was super easy to understand and maneuver. If I had to say one thing i would just like as a manager of the software push through payment when I wanted. Instead of having to get a hold of someone at the company.

We love GolfStatus!

We have enjoyed GolfStatus over the years. It is easy to use and learn. If we have a question they are always quick to answer and help.

PROS

What we liked most about this software was the ease of sponsors and teams signing up online.

CONS

The thing that we liked the least is not being able to pull financial reports but GolfStatus staff is more than happy and willing to help get the information to us.

GolfStatus helped our first golf outing succeed

Fantastic. [sensitive content hidden] and the team were there every step of the way. They were supportive and quick to respond to our questions. We will use GolfStatus next year and we are letting others know about it. Thank you, [sensitive content hidden] !

PROS

The software enabled us to focus on the most important part of our event planning - promoting our event. GolfStatus takes care of time consuming details so that we could focus on the golfer's experience. The sponsors liked the visibility and the golfers liked the live scoring and leaderboard.

CONS

The printable golfer lists worked but it was a bit challenging for the people handling registration as the details needed were in three different documents. It would be great to have an event day list that included the teams and codes in one place.

Have used this 3 years now and love it!

I have loved using and it working with our coordinator [sensitive content hidden]. He is very responsive and handled the logos better than anyone on the committee and our own organizations website. Loved working with him. This tournament is becoming turnkey and that is due to [sensitive content hidden] level of response.

PROS

I run a large charity golf outing and this has made it so easy for the volunteers to use. The reporting methods and ease of use for the golfers. we started this with covid and have expanded our use of it every year and it has made it so easy for the committee. This tournament raises $35K for Humane Society and we couldnt do it without Golf Status handling the registrations for us.

CONS

Nothing. Very easy to use. Had no problems at all.

Rehberg Charity Golf Tournament's use of GolfStatus

I only had an amazing experience with GolfStatus. My tournament would have been much more stressful if I did not use GolfStatus. The system was easy to use and it was easy to change to fit my needs. I worked directly with both [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and they were amazing. They set me up incredibly well and walked me through everything that I needed to know for the tournament. They were also available to meet any time I had questions. This experience was amazing and I would recommend GolfStatus to anyone that is planning a golf tournament in the future.

PROS

There were so many aspects of GolfStatus that I loved. One of those aspects was the customer service chat. I used it a couple of times leading up to the tournament and I had answers within minutes of me asking the questions. I also loved the ability to see all the sponsors for my tournament in one place. It make it so easy to reach out to sponsors and let them be able to choose the level they wanted to sponsor.

CONS

I honestly did not run into any issues using this website.

Small shops can pull off big events to raise more money with GolfStatus

We've used the application for two years now, and are growing our event and revenue. We are grateful for the good work of [sensitive content hidden] and the team locally in Lincoln NE for tech support. Overall, we've really had a good and positive experiece. The time, effort and dedication the team puts in to assuring we have all we need to be successful is what will keep us coming back.

PROS

If you are hosting a golf event for the first time, or have done them but find the details to be overwhelming, please consider using GolfStatus. They make is simple, keep it affordable for nonprofits and can help you raise more money while cultivating your donor relationships.

CONS

We had difficulty getting Facebook to keep our link (the registration link to our GS page) active. For some reason, it would work for a while once set up on FB, then it would send you to an error page... thinking there is something about the link that triggers FB to shut the link down. Not sure why...

Very Pleased!

Overall I really appreciated that GolfStatus was available. The non profit option was very helpful for my school and the online registration process made tracking payments easy. I can't wait to use the software again next year!!

PROS

-The customer service was incredible! The Golf Status team seemed willing and eager to help with any questions I had. -The non profit option was incredibly beneficial to my school.

CONS

-It took a little getting used to navigating the software. -The alerts I received when new registrants signed up did not include the name and email of the registrant. I appreciated the email alerts but would have liked to see a name and contact information.

Reason for choosing GolfStatus

I chose golf status over other alternative products because of the tournament website interface, and the non profit option.

Muggsy Bogues Celebrity Golf Classic

Our overall experience has been excellent. Technical support has been really great - responsiveness, accuracy, etc. We intend to use GolfStatus again in 2023.

PROS

The best feature of the software is that we can upload sponsor logos on the site to use for promotional purposes. But better than that is the technical support received which isn't really about the software but very much worth mentioning. It feels like your GolfStatus support person is part of your team.

CONS

What I like least is that unique player names are not required for registration. Sometimes we end up with teams that have the same name listed for 4 players right before our event and need to scramble to get players names/emails.

Fantastic Customer Service

We needed an efficient and effective way to register players for our annual golf fundraiser with a low cost to us. Golf Status was the perfect solution

PROS

The best thing for me about Golf Status is the partnership and responsiveness of [sensitive content hidden], our representative. Over these last three tournaments, his partnership has been invaluable

CONS

We are a small all volunteer non profit so continuing to maintain low fees is critical to us. Sizing logos has been a challenge for some of our sponsors but [sensitive content hidden] comes to the rescue within minutes of a request from me. And I understand that feature will be improved with the new version.
