DocuSign Software

DocuSign is a cloud-based electronic signature solution for organizations of all sizes and most industries. The platform can be used to sign various types of documents including business contracts, school permission slips, agreements and approvals.

Users can upload documents, email them to signers and specify the order in which individuals should sign. Tags can be added to indicate where the document should be signed. Signature fields can be embedded into websites and applications, as well as into documents.

The dashboard displays the status of all the documents sent for signing. Users can see which stage the document has reached in the signing process and send reminders for pending signatures. DocuSign also enables users to send and sign documents in multiple languages.

DocuSign offers a free trial, and is available for purchase with monthly or annual subscriptions. The mobile app is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows devices.

Pros

I like that you can indicate where one should sign and date just by dragging and dropping. Not only that, but you can indicate which party signs where which is very helpful to the recipients. The dashboard itself is very user-friendly, clear, and easy to navigate.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is that there is no pop-up tutorial when first signing in, at least for institutional users.

Pros

DocuSign is an easy e-signature interface that was rolled out for both external and internal signature needs. We have streamlined our company signature process using DocuSign.

Cons

I wish the connector for Salesforce had more options. The lack of knowledge of which documents are being sent within SFDC via Docusign.

Definitely worth the cost of membership.

Pros

This product allows multiple parties in different locations sign a contract without requiring the documents to be printed multiple times. Signing a document can occur in seconds no matter where the parties are from a phone, tablet, or computer.

Cons

Once the document is completely signed, it is sent to all parties, which is great, however, it would be nice if the email showed the distribution list so each recipient knows who else has already received the document.

My company recently began using Docusign for all major contracts (Service Agreements, Franchise Agreements, etc). It has taken the headache out of a normally painful process.

Pros

Docusign is very easy to use, and simplifies the process of completing contracts to a great degree. By increasing turnaround time and cutting out shipping costs, the product pays for itself. Added bonus: positive environmental impact!

Cons

There really aren't many negative aspects I've found utilizing Docusign. I'd imagine that it could influence certain users to speed through a contract without fully reading each section, but that's up to the user.

I love using Docusign. I wish we would have used it sooner. It saves money, reduces our paper and printing costs, and is better for the environment. If your company uses signed documents, you need Docusign. Plus, once the client signs, you have the signed document immediately. No more waiting for it in the mail, or fussing with faxes.

Pros

Docusign saves on paper and printing costs. It makes file storage much easier and more convenient that traditional file storage. Your customers will appreciate the electronic form over paper.

Cons

No cons that I can think of. It will take a little effort to set up your documents, but that's to be expected for any new system.

Pros

Great all around product, has everything you need in a digital signing software and is very user friendly and intuitive to use.

Cons

A tad expensive, more than double the price of competitors like SignNow which seems to have all the same or very similar features. Our business selected SignNow for the more competitive price $ per month for unlimited documents! DocuSign for a restricted amount of documents or $ for a business license...

Pros

Signing documents from anywhere, with just a tap on my phone - what's not to love? The interface is simple and intuitive. I wish that all products were as easy to use.

Cons

The pricing structure. As an end-user (I've used it as someone signing, and someone seeking signatures), you don't see this side, but I'd greatly prefer being able to pay by the document/signature, rather than monthly/quarterly.

This is the easiest way we've found to quickly get tenant signatures on new rental agreements. Easy to customize emails so recipients recognize they are from us.

Cons

They may have this now, but when I set up my templates, they did not allow functions in the PDF fields, meaning that our signers would have to enter information multiple times. It would have been easier to make fields equal to fields entered on previous pages.

Highly trusted for the single most important element in every contract: the signature!

We used this a recently as last week, and found it very flexible: EX: When there was a point in the contract where we had reason to pause, the program allowed us an unlimited amount of time to do so.

We also find it the most universally-accepted by customers too.

Cons

Not the cheapest signing product, but as we said, the signature is the most important element in finalzing any contract.

Docusign is great for when you want quick turnaround on getting documents signed and processed. It has a great integration with Salesforce, which is incredibly helpful for our record keeping. I wish when a document has not been signed after 72 hours, it would send you a reminder so that you know to contact the client and follow-up. Other than that, it has served its purpose.

I use DocuSign about once a month, and every time I use it, I have zero problem. Most of the time, documents are either sent to me to sign, or to me to forward on to my boss. Since he spends a fair amount of time traveling, this makes it really convenient to be able to forward him a document via email so that he can look over it and sign electronically. Otherwise, I would need to print out the document, have the individual sign it, scan the document, and send it back. In an age where things needs to be instantaneous, DocuSign is perfect for our needs this way. It's especially helpful when something is really time sensitive (and it usually is!). I especially like that if I'm sending someone a document via DocuSign that has never used it, DocuSign makes it really easy to find where the signature line is.

Pros

I really like how it makes signing important documents (for us it's contracts) simple. I don't need to go through a training on how to use it. And likewise, whenever I sent a document using this, there is never any question about how it works.

Cons

I honestly don't have any cons about this software at this time!

Advice to Others

It's really perfect for time sensitive materials that need to be reviewed and signed quickly. It saves times and makes it so much easier to meet deadlines.

This app allows you to request or obtain a digital signature easily without needing to be in the signer's presence or provide a thousand instructions or set a bunch of things up first. It will require the signer to have some basic "know-how" such as exporting and downloading to and from cloud or drive-based server locations like google drive or iCloud. Also the contact must have an email listed in the phone contacts if using a phone or tablet. Other than that it is fairly intuitive
