InsideView is a marketing intelligence and analytics solution for midsize to large businesses. It allows sales and marketing teams to aggregate and curate information about target markets, segments and organizations.

This software integrates with a wide range of leading CRM and marketing automation products, enriching contact profiles and delivering contextually appropriate intelligence wherever needed.

InsideView allows sales reps to find more quality prospects by leveraging their own database of companies and contacts, and filtering them by relevant custom attributes and social signals. InsideView then alerts reps about natural interaction opportunities with these prospects, including company expansion, changes in leadership, acquisitions, relocations and financial updates.

In addition, InsideView allows marketers to match their lead lists against InsideView’s own expansive database in order to remove duplicate contacts, complete incomplete profiles, scrub inaccurate data, better score leads and enrich lead records with additional social data and business insights.

Very helpful when prospecting companies and individuals. I found the company detail information accurate. I liked the integration with salesforce the most and that you could click into the insideview platform straight from a record. I feel that it complimented the information we already had in SF and created a better view of our clients/prospects.

Sometimes it didn't always have company data which I needed for prospecting and then I had to do more research, but that I feel would be a problem with any software like this.

Recommendations

Before purchasing, see howit integrates within your other technologies/software. The best product will compliment others you already have.

InsideView is easy to use inside of Salesforce. The employee size is usually accurate.

The LinkedIn feature used to show if the person has a LinkedIn profile, but only if the person was in their system prior does it now show. I guess they lost their integration or something.

Recommendations

This tool will help you if your sales team has geographical territories and you need to search by a set criteria for companies and/or people.

The ability to update current accounts in our database as well as import new accounts. We also use the family tree to show the account hierarchy in Salesforce. They are very easy to work with.

The family tree does not automatically scan your database to find accounts that you currently have. We've also seen difficultly in updating the Fiscal Year End month in Salesforce.

Recommendations

When building lists, always start with the smallest geographical area as possible.

The integration with Salesgorce.com was very important to us. They support one-click updates, which makes it quick and easy for our reps to keep accounts current. They also have one of the largest databases available, which helps companies like ours who target a wide range of client profiles.

The manual intervention needed to keep accounts and contacts can be burdensome. It will be nice when this is more automated and happening in the background.

Recommendations

It's best to really understand the type of data you need and compare that against what each of the companies in the marketplace offer, as each specializes in slightly different areas of focus.

This is a good way to find companies and verticals. Find them the way you want to--size, industry, etc. You find them YOUR way, then you download only what YOU want--not what some company thinks you want.

Like every single "list vendor" out there, you do need to confirm the specific contact information. Not everything listed is still valid.

Recommendations

Find the best list you can. Get a sample from them. Test it using your marketing strategy, THEN invest in it ONLY if it meets your needs.

I think the UI could have been a little better. Although the plugin gives all the data it would be better if could be presented in a more visual manner.

This is a really useful plugin. I have not used any other plugin till date for such features. Although there are other tools such as Salesforce and other marketing tools that does the same functionality, the fact that it came free with the basic functionality along with Sugar CE enabled us to get the benefits at the very beginning.

Integrates seamlessly with our CRM environment. I use this every day to do quick research and scan for new contacts and companies I am talking to. Also fill in missing company details like employee counts and annual rev. And if a larger org viewing the family tree is helpful.

Completeness and accuracy of data. I am looking for accurate and complete company and contact information. I look for ownership contact information.

Search capabilities. I want to be able to search by very specific company type fields: 8 digit SIC codes, etc. Also I want to be able to sort and sub group sorts. After you search it is not easy to select targets.

Sometimes it would be great to be able to find our own data sources and find a way to do this.

Recommendations

Always think about where your customers are likely to be found on social channels, but also which publications and websites they may also be mentioned (e.g. trade sites). If any are missing, suggest them to InsideView.
