Vagaro is a cloud-based salon and spa management solution that allows users to book appointments and manage various facility roles. It offers an integrated solution to manage bookkeeping, payroll, client databases and inventory.

Salon owners can list available appointment slots, and customers can then look for salon facilities nearby and book appointments through Vagaro’s website. Its mobile app is available for Android and iOS-based smartphones. Vagaro manages front desk operations such as appointments, sending confirmation emails and messages to clients and alerts to salon owners.

Salon owners can create customizable promotional web pages to showcase upcoming events and special offers through Vagaro’s website or connect with their customers through email and social media platforms. Customers can also create personalized profiles with their contact information, booking history and feedback.

This product enables salon owners to keep records of their customer service histories and generate customizable reports with graphs and charts to track business performance.

Ok for single operator. Not effective for bigger salon.

Their customer-service department seems to be filled with condescending 20 somethings who enjoy attempting to make users feel inadequate. The last 3 times I've had to call-in and ask a question or have voice a concern about the product, I've been spoken down to by someone half my age.

Pros

The calendar is easy and self explanatory. It seems easy to use Even for people with no computer experience . If you're still using pencil and paper , this is way better than that . Probably a great product for both renters. Clients like notification system.

Cons

If you've used any other salon softwares that are in a high performance category as far as reporting and/or user experience this will not suit your needs . It is very rudimentary in its performance . It does not allow for any customization in reports or in applications .
Many features are archaic and need updating. The feature to logout users after a certain amount of time can't recognize the difference between idle and not idle so it will log you out and lose your work in the middle of a session . The "marketing" section is mediocre at best . IF you've already been running a computerized operation for 5 yrs or more, you will find the software completely inefficient . It does not save your work if you're in the middle of procedures when it logs out . It cannot tell the difference between tasks in progress and idleness . If you leave the program wide-open and it doesn't log anybody out automatically, then your separate users have no recognition within the system, Unless they individually and manually log themselves in-and-out every time . SO MANY SILLY TIME WASTING things that MUST be done manually every session. Yuck.

Not user friendly we did a trial and had more headaches then ever we were switching from being on the books to something online this is not the option we should have gone with

They are not the best option out there do your research before setting up the whole system

Pros

I didn't find anything great about this maybe that they will make you a website if you need one but honestly nothing really great

Cons

This software is not user friendly I realize it is very inexpensive but the customer service is horrible we needed help with certain things and the people that we would talk to pretty much made us feel like we weren't important and didn't care about our problems they were very ignorant it's unfortunate that it didn't work out seeing that everyone speaks very highly of them but I feel as if they need a lot more growing to do especially with the calendar itself and the people that are helping the customers ! They make everything harder then it needs to be!

There are several other app options that are better. I trialled several of these type of app/programs. They were the only one that asked for a credit card to do a trial. The other programs emailed and stated the trial was almost over and do I want to continue. Vagaro sent me one email, when I signed up, and one more 30 days later stating they have charged me the monthly fee. They didn't email stating my trial was almost over. And dealing with several, it's hard to remember them all. I couldn't believe it when I received an email from them saying they've charged me money... without even informing me they would do so.

There are far better programs out there. No need to use this one that will steal money from you. And, they have no option for a refund. I tried their program for only a few days before finding better alternatives. I still can't believe they took money without informing the customer. That is fraudulent.

Pros

None. There are identical options that do not ask for a credit card during the trial period.

Cons

They will steal your money! Do not give them your credit card details to trail.

I have used Vagaro as a Day Spa Manager and as a client. As a Day Spa Manager, the software made the chaos of scheduling seem like an easy task. Employees loved that clients could book appointments online, and the employee could verify the time slot before accepting the appointment. Anyone can access their schedule via smartphone, tablet, computer, etc. Clients loved that they could book their appointments 24/7 via their personal devices. It really is a win-win for everyone.

Pros

Convenience for employees and clients.
Sends reminders to clients about their appointments.

Cons

Nothing.

Advice to Others

Switching over has been really easy and learning the new software is natural. Im not exactly tech savvy so that was a big deal for me.

so far so good... i havent noticed anything that i dont like so far but ive only been using the software for a little over a week.

It is easy to use. Customer support is great. My clients have seemed to enjoy it and have also shared how easy it is to book.

Cons

There is a lot and I am constantly learning more. It has a lot to offer which is a good thing, but I can easily see how this will get expensive adding all the features I would like. I am not sure yet if it would be better off buying a program outright and not having a monthly bill.

A full clientele with an interactive experience for them to feel in charge and apart of the appointment making process.

Pros

love the text message appointment reminders (helps with having less no shows), Love the ease of future booking clients with quick clicks to future dates as well.

Cons

there are some misc. grievances with the cash drawer system... if you add cash to the drawer mid day if it's running low there is no way to update the balance.

I love the scheduling feature it is extremely easy to use and fast. The ability to look up my clients for information such as phone#, history and color formula very easy.

Pros

The ease of the calendar section to book clients. The ease of the client list within the scheduling apt.

Cons

I would love to be able to directly send announcements i.e. birthday, anniversary and followup to specific clients attached to their appointment reminder, instead of going through all the paces with the e-mail/blasts. A way to directly communicate with my client without going through all the steps.

Clients on time. They cant say they didn't get a notification when their phone number and email are on file. In other words the scheduling and timely notification make it easy form my clients to show up or cancel their appointment. Time Is Money!

Pros

The convenience, notifications and how easy it is to use. I like that you can book appointments from anywhere at any time, it looks professional and people get a wow moment when you pull it out to schedule something.

Cons

From time to time the app kicks you out and you have to keep signing back in. On the phone app, when it comes to schedule an appointment and you go to search for a clients name you type in the first two letters of their name and it kicks you out. annoying!

Its easy to figure out how to use each function and the videos help make things clear. I have had to call to get assistance and they were simply amazing and helpful. I love that I can send email and make daily deals on the program.

Cons

The only thing I dislike is the page that appears when I log on and asks for me to watch a video but I can now get around that.

This software gives me easier money management! I hate having to keep up with an appointment book and this software I have right in my hand wherever I go on my smartphone!

Pros

I love the availability to all of my clients names and numbers. I love the message reminders and so do all of my customers! I like how I can print receipts and have use to a cash drawer. I also have my iPad and iPhone on this software and also have my employees signed up to use on their phones which is great when the salon is busy! Easy checkouts with the card readers and I like how your able to save customers cards on file for faster checkouts! I also like the way that the gift certificates are logged in to the system. The gift cards that you can buy are a little expensive in my opinion..

Cons

I do not like the fact that once you book an appointment you can not go back in and edit it to change the service or add a service to the current one that is booked...

Can check my books from anywhere - anytime!

Pros

It has EVERYTHING needed to book any service in any way in a salon/spa! My clients love the confirmation text that an appointment has been booked and the 24 hour reminder of an upcoming appointment.

Cons

It's expensive for a 1 person salon. Wish they had a sliding scale for small salon owners.
