It's one of those platforms where you appreciate what it does more than how it does it. Concur is functional, but rough around the edges in ways that add up over time. Everything gets routed the right way and approvals don't get lost in someone's inbox anymore. For our accounting department it's made managing incoming invoices a lot more organized compared to what we were doing before. The audit trail it keeps is genuinely helpful when something needs to be looked up weeks later. #### Cons The interface feels like it was designed by engineers for engineers. It's not intuitive at all and even staff who are pretty comfortable with software have needed hand-holding to get up to speed. Simple tasks can take way more clicks than they should, and the mobile experience leaves a lot to be desired if someone needs to approve something on the go. Sure there are somethings that every business wants that a service doesn't provide, but I'd say overall, Concur gets us 95% of the way to perfect state. Importing invoices either via app or scans is very simple and easy to use. Concur also allowed us to customize categories of expenses and accounts to put them to. Finally, it has a nice set up for booking travel via all the big outlets (hotel/airfare/rental cars/train). It also has allowed our company to identify preferred providers and push users toward those providers. #### Cons Reporting isn't great. Trying to get customized reporting for accounting purposes is definitely a struggle. Additionally, if you have less than conventional travel (one way train, where you want to change category during the trip (coach for part of the trip/sleeper for second part)) it's not quite flexible enough to handle those situations. No incentive was offered The onboarding process is not user friendly and requires technical expertise. It did not play well with other applications and the onboarding success team takes over a week to respond. If you have in house IT staff then you should consider it as it is feature rich and scalable, but it can get expensive quickly. They have no easy way to pay your bill and Support took 3 weeks to figure out why I could not access the online billing portal and in the interim I received threating demand e-mails from them daily. The billing portal is straight out of 1980 and hasn't been updated since. The setting options can be intimidating as again the system is feature rich. We have spent a significant amount of time and paid for a SuiteApp to connect SAP Concur to NetSuite so we are using it, but I would not recommend SAP Concur to any small or medium size business. It is a legacy application so there are lots of experienced users. The reviews I read online are not an indication of my experience so I thought I would share my honest personal experience. #### Cons THIS IS A SELF SERVICE APPLICATION WITH LIMITED SUPPORT. The native QB connector for QB desktop enterprise is worthless with little to no support from Concur. Our onboarding specialist final recommendation after 2 months was to just use it manually without the QB financial connector. The admin platform is clunky and not intuitive. We have had multiple issues with items not working and the support has only been able to resolve 1 issue after 3 weeks of trying.
